And ive been looking back over games ive missed and not sure whats worth getting from the Wii generation backlog.
I'm thinking Xenoblade chronicles is a must? Or does it play like the new FF games? or is it more in line with FFX and prior? or noting like FF? Story top notch?
And im thinking skyward sword is a must also?? Yes of course it is, its Zelda! how foolish of me..
But i have hear bad things about twilight princess, is this shit?
The last story is also a high rated game that keeps popping up, is this good??
And what about metroid?? should i pick up some nun chuck controllers? are these good for fps?? as in can you aim with the movement of the chucks?? I find fps with analogue slow and tedious, aiming at screen sounds fun.
Is monster hunter good?
Bayonetta? is it just mindless hack and slash? any story?
Sorry im asking for alot of info here, but any minor insight/opinions would be appreciated.
I find gaming sites these days annoying to navigate and am unsure which are trustworthy.
Been out of the console game awhile and have only really been playing PC save the odd big hits on ps3.. Switching to Wii/WiiU and EVERYTHING is new..
Twilight Princess is great in my opinion and Skyward Sword is also a great game. Both are really lengthy and give you plenty to do and have great stories. I also suggest the Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii, The Last Story is also really fun, look up the gameplay on youtube. Xenoblade Chronicles is pretty fun, it is very vast and there are a lot of quests to embark on. The story is decent and there is plenty of customization involved, as for it being like FF, it plays like FFXII and it also plays like a PS3 title by the name of White Knight Chronicles.
Other Wii games worth looking at are:
Wario Land: Shake it - 2D platformer with a lot of exploration and item finding.
Punch Out - fighting/boxing game for the Wii that is based off the NES version and brings back most of the boxers and new fighters appear too.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom - vs series game that is really good, plenty of characters to choose from and it even includes mega man and tron!
Red Steel 2 - FPS game and it is AWESOME! The gameplay is great, it is single player only, but it is still worth playing through.
Mario Party 8 & 9 - Great mario party games (though I prefer 8 out of the two), check it out if you'd like.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 3D mario game that is really fun, plenty of stars to collect, and the levels are really nicely done.
Animal Crossing City Folk - If you like simulation games, this is a really fun one, you won't be able to do the online stuff because nintendo's old wi-fi network is shut down.
Dragon Quest Swords - This is an interesting spin off of the DQ series. It's in first person perspective and you get to slash up all the enemies using the Wii remote, if you like RPGs this is worth a try.
Mega Man 9 - This is a WiiWare title you can get from the Wii Shop channel that is still open. This is a NES graphiced game that plays like the older mega man series
Mega Man 10 - another great nes graphiced platformer game.
Cave Story - This is a great indie title. If you haven't played it on PC yet, you can always get it on the Wii Shop Channel, I recommend it.
and then there are the virtual console games which there are buttloads of from atari to n64, neo geo, arcade, etc.
Oh if you never experienced EarthBound, that is on the Wii U eshop channel, i totally recommend that game!
I have a lot of fun with Twilight Princess, but the Wii version that insisted on flipping everything so that Link was right handed. It was a fun entry and there was some genuinely entertaining boss fights. It's more of the same for a Zelda game, so if you're tired of the formula it's probably not to going to be a game changer for you.
Last Story, this is going to be one of the few times you'll hear this from me, because I can find something good about any game, but don't bother with The Last Story. The combat is so empty, it is literally move the stick and the game does the rest for you. You don't provide any other input in combat outside of special triggers. So just pass on it. It's a RPG where combat is empty, coming from the creator of FF, I don't understand how he screwed up that badly. This will be the rare time I tell you stay away from a game.
Xenoblade is sort of open world. I think it is big vast regions that you get to run around. It's very easy to get side tracked and lost doing something else when meant to be doing another thing. Definitely try it out, you can drop hundreds of hours into easily.
If you want something a little off the beaten path, Pandora's Tower could be a good pick. It's adventure action RPG where your goal is to save a girl from a curse of being turned into a monster. However, you're on a timer. She is constantly under going the transformation, so the longer you're want the worse she'll be when you return. And you have to feed her monster meat to keep the curse at bay. So there is a time management to the game of how long do you stay want and risk her getting worse. It's meant to play a lot on your feelings and guilt.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

Sweet feedback! Much appreciated, and what about the fps games on the wii u, if i had a wii remote/nunchuck thingy, could i aim with the sensors or would i have to use analogue directions to aim like one would have to on playstation/xbox console?
This is a big thing for me being a pc gamer using a mouse to aim, using analogue on a joypad to me is not fun.
It's more of the same for a Zelda game, so if you're tired of the formula it's probably not to going to be a game changer for you.
This right here is what bothered me the most about Twilight Princess and Zelda games in general as of recently. While I did enjoy Twilight Princess it felt way too much like Ocarina of Time, it is however the grittiest Zelda game I've played so far so there's that.
I have no experience with Wii whatsoever but I would definitely look into Super Mario Galaxy 2, and The Last Story. Latter reminds me of Final Fantasy XII, and was made by Hironobu Sakaguchi, both of which I'm huge fan of.
Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero is another game I would simply love to play, port of a GameCube version it's an oldschool type of Resident Evil, and quite a good one from the looks of it.
Twilight Princess I felt tried to copy Ocarina of Time with better graphics is what I felt except the game was a joke. It was the first Zelda game I didn't want to sit down and do everything in.

In most games, you bet! They're actually designed that way by default in many instances.
