  1. Feeling kind of bleh, to be honest, but whatever. I'll get over it.

    How about you?
  2. And how are you?
  3. Nah. It wasn't too bad. It's funny because how I planned my characters for their Quickenings and which Espers they would get, I had Penelo with Cuchulainn & Mateus. I found it funny that I got her second Esper before Mateus. I'm pretty pleased that I was able to get 3 optional Espers before Mateus. I've got a little over 76 hours on this file so far.
  4. Disable is such a pain... But congrats for defeating him! Did you have any trouble getting to him though? Took me ages to navigate around the waterway.
  5. So I was thinking of taking down Cuchulainn before Bur-Omisace as well but initially thought not to since my equipment was a little too weak and I didn't have Curaja. But then I thought hey I probably could use Gil Toss. Long story short: I could have had him on my first try but I forgot to switch the Black Belts to my second party and I died from Sap and Disable. I defeated him the second time though.
  6. Good to know! When I get a chance to pick the game up again, I have some great pointers now that will make the game hella fun to play through. And I hear you about the undead enemies. I nearly got my butt handed to me somewhere either in the Necrohol of Nabudis or the Nabreus Deadlands when they just kept coming at me! Got in some great chaining though.

EDIT: I want to share this video with you! It made me laugh when I watched it

  7. Early in the game and I would say throughout most of the game Horology is a pretty good Tecknick, 1,000 needles (consistent damage and able to get around some phy. barriers) is good as well as: addle, expose, shear, wither, and steal. Traveler is ok every so often and Numerology can be good if lucky. Charge is good in the beginning of the game since it allows the player to gain MP back - it is risky - when MP restorative items are rare.

I may try to get some Dragon Mails, Cleric's Robes, & Celebrant's Miter for a couple of my characters; those pieces of equipment are pretty good and are great upgrades. I definitely need the Dragon Mails for Basch and Balthier who I have equipping heavy armor for their "body". The problem is the enemies - undead- are a pain as they spawn so much and somewhat overwhelm me.

I did get the Platinum Dagger from the Shambling Corpses that accompany Adrammelech for Vaan which is the 3rd best dagger; it has an additional effect of immobilize.
  8. Wow. You're really moving right along in the game! Huzzah for you indeed! Gil Toss is a pretty handy technick, eh? I don't think I used too many of those when I played through the game, except for Poach, Telekinesis ( < extremely glad I got that one) and Libra.
  9. I acquired Adrammelech and Zalera before Mt. Bur-Omisace. Huzzah for me. Zalera was pretty easy since I had a lot of gil because I rarely buy equipment I was able to bypass the condition of him being invulnerable to physical damage when the Dead Bones are on the battlefield with Gil Toss. Using that would also quickly dispatch the Dead Bones allowing the rest of my party to attack the esper.

  10. Methinks you're right on the money with that assessment. xD
  11. It would take 9 years for Before Crisis to be remade on the 3DS at the rate SE is going. Bwahahahaha.
  12. Haha! Yeah, I watched it before when someone linked it in a Kotaku post, but it's still hilarious the second time around! Anything Kevin Butler does is amazing. The actor really is the one that sells it though, so extra kudos to him.
  13. I don't know if you seen this commercial yet, for the PS Move, but it is damn funny. It is the long version. YouTube - Kevin Butler's Epic PlayStation Move-tage
  14. Well, it's not that I let my characters use what they find; I search out for said items. I slay for hours trying to get the drop. I build up chains to increase my chances at the rarer drops. I maxed a chain through poaching an enemy - which I didn't know that poaching builds a chain (I don't know if slaying and poaching are interchangeable) - that would give me the Main Gauche for Vaan in the Tomb of Raithwall. I've stolen from enemies, which I need to do some more from the Silicon Tortoise's in Giza Plains during the Rains to get the Officer's Hat.

I'm thinking for my next playthrough that I'll just do the story, no side-quests, and try to plow through the game as fast as possible.
  15. Heh.. Getting a jump on next year, eh? Well, thank you for the very early birthday wishes! And who doesn't enjoy a little homicide on the anniversary of the day they were born?

Seems like that's a pretty fun way to play the game. I was a shop-a-holic my first time playing through. Made sure that I bought EVERYTHING I could from every shop I came across, which meant that yeah, I did a lot of monster-slaying to find good loot to sell off. Next time I play, I think that I may let my characters just use whatever they can find too.

As for myself, I've been playing Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. Mainly going through the story mode, and I did a bit of the mini-games/sidequests. The story is getting really good, and I like how the three characters paths intertwine throughout the game. I will say that it is a bit tedious when you start a new story after getting the previous character all leveled up and kicking butt, and then you have to do it all over again with a new character. Also, getting acquainted with the new character's fighting style takes some getting used to, for me at least.

Oh, one final thing to tell you: There's a tweet from Bobby Edner, who voice-acted Vaan in FF XII, saying he's reprising the role in an upcoming FF game. Speculation is that it's the new Dissidia game, since the voice actor for Kuja has a tweet about the same time saying that he's signed on for the new game.

Whoo... Long message. I think I'll leave it at that.
