Happy Birthday Unknown, may all your wishes come true. I hope you'll have a great time.
Now that you mention, playing Duke again wouldn't be a bad idea since I don't know what to play these days anyway. It's really shame that they canceled the new Duke Nukem game. I mean, they did work on it for so many years, I was expecting to see at least a demo and judging by those trailers they've released the game looked really promising, Damn you 3D Realms.
Haha, I've heard that one too. xD I need to find my copy of the game, and have a play through.
I just love your new avatar and sig, Duke always had the best comment's and well most of them are epic. The best one that I've heard would be "It's time to kick ass or chew bubblegum. And I'm all outta gum."
Haha, doodles are always pretty funny when you're bored. I'll go check out your art thread! =D
Well it's good to hear that you know a lot of football, not many girls do and to be honest most of the girls I know find it to be really boring, that's way I felt I need to apologize. And you're right, football has become more than a game for some people and that's pretty sad when you think about it. I checked your art thread a few minutes ago and I must say that your drawings are great especially those doodle's you made mainly because they're really funny and to be honest they made me laugh. Unfortunately it's practically impossible for me to show you some of my drawings mainly because they're done on a hammer A2 paper, which is big by the way and it's almost impossible to scan them with regular scanner. And most of them are on college. But just like you I also draw when I have free time and well my note book's are filled with doodle's because it can be really boring on classes. I have an art thread so you can check it if you want. I've only scanned two pictures, which reminds me that I need to add more of them these days. Thanks =D
Haha, it doesn't bore me at all, no need to apologise. Football just isn't one of those things I know tons about, except for the football-hooligan culture that has formed. All of a sudden, football isn't just a game but another reputation point for whoever supports them. People get so worked up about it, that they often forget themselves. I think I still have an art thread which has most of my stuff. It's not the latest, but it's an idea lol. And wow... would I be able to see some of your drawings? They sound pretty interesting. In my 3D class at college, we're going to design a bar or casino using 3D Max. I can't wait. XD And yay for getting in there! =D
Unfortunately that's true, but then again it's it's better to do something about it than let those hooligans to do as they wish and to be honest some of the laws have helped greatly to decrease incidents like that. Those incidents are really rare now, even in my country but nevertheless they do happen and that's something that any country shouldn't allow. But then again when it comes to hooligans situation in Europe isn't that bad, at least we have some control over those things unlike Argentina, Brazil, Mexico etc. were people are killed just by wearing a shirt of various football clubs. I shouldn't bother you with the football it isn't exactly an interesting subject especially hooligans and I apologize if this was boring for you in any way. So you like to draw, interesting, maybe I could see some of your drawings, if you don't mind that is. They don't tell me what to draw I only get a piece of paper with the statistics and few information regarding the project, and after that I'm on my own. The drawings are unique for every subject, for instance I have subject called high engineering and I draw projects of buildings and complex houses, on the other hand I draw bridges or roads for the completely different subjects. And I do some minor drawings on the PC, just some details and cross sections for various houses or just for the storey for now. I'm drawing mostly manually but later I will learn how to draw all those things in AutoCad because almost every project and drawing is done via AutoCad today and manually drawing is basically extinct. And no, I'm not a shadow to my professor, I've know him before I even had Geodesy and because he's a little older I just help him with some stuff like carry equipment and such. Well, "helping" wouldn't be the right word to be more precise he orders me to do all of that. There are some differences but all in all it's a lot similar to our colleges here and your reason for entering that college are pretty much reasonable. The college that I go to used to be in a building similar to yours college but it was transferred to a new building last year and it became the college that offers the best education and services in the entire country. It's hard to get in but I had great grades and few recommendations so they accepted me.
When it comes to football and the hooligans, I don't think many of the laws are obeyed unfortunately. Besides, laws can't do anything unless they're enforced properly. I love drawing, but I have difficulty drawing when someone tells me to draw something or if I'm being put under pressure to create something. I tend to work better on my art stuff if I do it in my free time. What kind of things do you get asked to draw? And that sounds interesting... so you're like a shadow to your professor? Over here, it depends on where you go really. There are some colleges that are specifically for people considering going into different professions. Or you have one college which is spread out into different buildings. For example, the college I go to has five buildings spread out over Islington. One is for the Sciences, one for Health and Social Care, one for Lifelong Learning, my one for Business, Arts and Technology, and then you have the Sixth From Centre which covers all areas, but only really offers A-Level courses. The other centres do A-Levels and BTEC Diplomas (equivalent to three A-Levels). I choose to go to the college I'm at because it is one of the best colleges in London that isn't impossible to get into. Also it did the E-Gaming course, which I knew would interest me, and no other college offered it unless you already had certain qualifications - I don't have a GCSE in ICT for example, and another course at another college needed that requirement.
I live also in Europe to be more precisely in Herzegovina, and that will be Bosnia and Herzegovina for those who're a little weak with geography. And yes, it sounds bad but the situations like this are solving pretty fast over the past few years and the incidents like this are drastically reduced. They even tend to introduce few laws that are used in England, it will help to deal with hooligans more efficiently. I must say that your coursework sounds very interesting, especially "the research on the effect games have on society". Mine are pretty much like "draw this than draw that" but some of them are really interesting, well the ones that have main connection with civil engineering. I hate those from geometry only because I draw million lines to get a stupid cube or triangle, and I get to draw at least ten of those so it's takes about few days to solve that. The ones that I especially like are building projects and even tho it takes a couple of months to finish one I enjoy working on it. The field projects from Geodesy are also interesting and easy, I just follow professor and carry his equipment. There are also some on PC but that's mainly working and drawing in a program called AutoCad but it can be complex. Some of the project can be pain in the ass but overall it's not bad, I like this college. I don't know what kind of highschool system you have there in England but our highschools are categorized by professions and I went for a building technician, I pretty much liked my profession and that's way I decided to go on civil engineering. So how about you, did you had any particular reason to go on your college?
Wow. Sounds a lot worse than over here. Where are you? =O The coursework isn't actually that bad for most of my subjects because I like what I learn. But of course, you get the odd assignment which takes more time than you're prepared to give it, and then you put it off, and then stress over it when the due date comes. One of my assignments at the moment would take a day for me to do, because it's just research on the effect games have on society, and issues around that. It could even go into women and games and game addition, and these places where large amounts of people are crammed into a tiny room to play the same level over and over again (testing). The other coursework, however, is on System Analysis. This one will take a couple of months to complete at most, because it's a long term project. Our teacher wants to see how we'd handle a client (which he gets to play ¬¬) who... can get problematic at times. We're not only graded on the assignment, but how we handle the project and our communication with him. =| What is your like then? XD
Well that sucks, but to be honest the same goes for me. There is always something to do, be it drawings or projects and like you said free time isn't actually a free time which sucks big time. I'm just the opposite of you when it comes to the football, I'll rather watch it on TV than play it even tho I love to play football. And to be honest I don't pay too much intention to those who think that football is a good reason to get drunk or even worse to be a hooligan. Unfortunately England is nothing compared to my nation when it comes to football, and the saddest thing is that we have more hooligans than some country citizens. It's a sad moment when I can't go to the college because it's closed for security reasons and the whole town is filed with soldiers and police just because one football match. And because of people like that many think that we're savages. Anyway, you said that you get tons of coursework, do you get anything interesting to do or is it case like mine where I curse the day when I entered that damn college.
Haha, I've slowly learnt that free time isn't really free time. We get tons of coursework to do at college, and so our day off is mainly spent on MSN helping each other with certain parts of the criteria. I'm not a massive football fan, if I'm honest. I prefer playing it to watching it on the television or hearing about the results afterwards. Over here, football is just another lousy excuse for the chavs to go down the local pub, get wasted, make loads of noise using their rather fluent and uneducated tongue, and start fights on the drunken walk home. Honestly, some of us know how to give us British people a bad name.
It's okay, don't worry =). I'm great so far but extremely busy with all of the exams this month and on top of that I must work to earn some extra cash. The new semester is starting soon so I must also prepare for that but I can't complain because it's going to be a little easier from now on. I'm pretty satisfied with the timetable for the next semester, basically because I'm going to have less classes and more free time =). Anyway I've noticed that you live in London and I'm wondering are you a soccer fan? Just of curiosity and mainly because I love England's Premiership.
o.o I missed that last messge. ='[ I've been okay. College is going okay, I'm just not enjoying the new timetable. XD;; How have you been? It has been a while lol. =]
