Wait wait wait...you haven't beaten the original yet? O.o

And I can totally sympathize with you having the evening off to game because that's also what I do. Too many distractions during the day. How much farther ahead is your time zone than our eastern shore time zone?

Hey Unknown Entity how are you??????

My favorite part of MGS4 is when you start to go down the stairs (after the area where you killed Sniper Wolf 10 years ago and Crying Wolf in this game) and Otacon phones you on the codec and tells you to swap discs. Then he realizes you're playing on a PLAYSTATION 3 and you're using a Blu-Ray disc with a 25Gb capacity! There's no need to swap disks! ;]

    I love it!

Poor Dad! You'll have to let him watch you play it! Haha.

Well, I have a question for you.

I am flying to Paris, and my plane connects in London. Only, I connect in different London airports. My plane from the U.S. lands in Gatwick, and my flight to Paris leaves from Heathrow.

Would it be terribly hard to connect airports? Are they miles and miles away?

Is it true you live in London?

Haha, yeah, MGS4 in a day. I picked it up at 10 AM the day it came out and took it straight home. Only took breaks for food and whatnot every few hours and completed the game by 6 AM the next day. Took 20 hours, but I did it! It just had me hooked the whole time. And Act 4 is a work of art. Seeing Shadow Moses Island all ice covered and worn in EXACTLY the same layout of the original game was like a homecoming for me. Playing that for the first time is seriously one of my favorite moments I've ever had while gaming.

Heavy Rain didn't take 20 hours, but it definitely had me hooked. By this time next week, we should be able to talk about it!

And the PSN text chat is really easy to use (if used properly). Basically you create a chat room and both of us enter. If you're playing a game, you access it by pressing the PS button which brings you to the XMB. If you do not hit O to get out of the chat room and instead just hit the PS button to close the XMB, every time you press the PS button it'll bring you straight to the chat room. No need for message opening (like how we've messaged before). The other good thing about it is when someone sends a text message through the chat room, it'll show up with what they said in the top right corner of your screen if you're not actively in your XMB looking at the chat room. It's really neat once you figure out how to efficiently use it.

There's replay value, alright. I have a bad habit of beating my games in one day *cough MGS4 cough* but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment. I'm eager to start playing it all over again and get a different ending!

And if you aren't able to get a headset, no worries. Not many people know this, but the instant chat feature on the PSN is actually very handy and very useful.

I'd love to play LBP with you if you ever want to!

And on a side note, I beat Heavy Rain, and I think it's probably in my top ten favorite games of all time. I'm not joking. Without giving away spoilers, I will tell you that you're in for one incredible ride! It's SO worth the wait!

Oh, I almost forgot! Chrono Cross is my favorite RPG ever. I cannot believe I didn't remember it when I wrote the comment below O.o

For me, my favorite game of all time is the original Metal Gear Solid. Playing that game changed my gaming life forever. I still to this day never get tired of it. I obviously love all the FF games for PSX. For PS2, the continuation of the MGS series, FFX, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus (as you mentioned), and the God of War series. For PS3, my favorite game is still MGS4. I also love the Uncharted series, Killzone 2, and Demon's Souls. For PSP, I play Dissidia constantly ^_^

There are tons of other games I love playing, but those are just the top few I think about for each platform.

Oh, I agree. Re-reading old mags for a different generation of consoles is definitely a trip down memory lane. It makes you remember what you were doing at that time in your life and the nostalgia starts flooding your memory banks.

What's your favorite game of all time?
