You going to pit your self in the member elimination?

I had the best Luck with Kubuntu, where it would detect my card, and tell me I was connected to the net, but....I wasn't haha. I could pull any data. That Could be incompatibility with my router, but not likely. Otherwise, it usually doesn't detect my wireless card, but netgear drivers are a bitch to finagle to begin with xD

I've checked out: Zenwalk, Ubuntu (with GNOME, KDE, and XFCE), Fluxbuntu, Freespire, Elive, Puppy, and GoblinX. I did not have any connectivity problems using an ethernet connection. but the router, for the sake of my sister, is in a location that I can thread cable to xD.

Think it could be that I'm not configuring Ndiswrapper properly?

I'm working on redoing my notes on users, groups, and permissions, including problems I've run into. I'll see about sending that to you when I have a chance.

Until then, if you want to wing it yourself, try adding your linux and samba users to the same group if they are going to share all the same files. I'd recommend learning it this way and taking notes. It might sound mean, but it's about learning how to go through the processes rather than immediately recalling information and not being able to apply it. Learn how to find what you need, and you're all set.

I wouldn't recommend sharing at 777 if you can get around it. At least leave the "other" to only read and execute(5). Leaves you open otherwise if someone gets through your firewall somehow.
