Well,I actually didn't need your help at all.I got the computer up and running and the net up and running fine. All I needed was the usb wireless adapter,so my friend actually had one she never used,so I was able to install that and go on my home network fine. I guess I have wireless in the house that's why I didn't need the router. But thank you.

I had the best Luck with Kubuntu, where it would detect my card, and tell me I was connected to the net, but....I wasn't haha. I could pull any data. That Could be incompatibility with my router, but not likely. Otherwise, it usually doesn't detect my wireless card, but netgear drivers are a bitch to finagle to begin with xD

I've checked out: Zenwalk, Ubuntu (with GNOME, KDE, and XFCE), Fluxbuntu, Freespire, Elive, Puppy, and GoblinX. I did not have any connectivity problems using an ethernet connection. but the router, for the sake of my sister, is in a location that I can thread cable to xD.

Think it could be that I'm not configuring Ndiswrapper properly?

Glad that I was able to be of some reference to what you were going through. You'll have to keep me updated with how things go, I'm interested to see how it all works out.
