I remembered why I don't post anything in ID anymore. I was going to, since I enjoy discussing things intellectually, but the more I read your ramblings, the more pissed off I got. It's not that I don't agree with you. You make very valid points. You just treat people like shit. People don't deserve to be patronized. You're intelligent enough where you should realize how immature that is. You make intellectual discussion on this forum completely impossible, because you continuously manipulate conversations to invoke negative emotional responses. You come off as bordering on egocentrism and narcissism. That is all.

I disagree with your assessment of Rand being an anarcho-capitalist. As you said she hated being associated with anarchy or libertarianism. Reading her work it was explicitly stated she was an avid supporter of laissez-faire capitalism & in favor of a government. I just feel you picked the wrong sub-category of capitalism.

I believe a lot of it may stem from the belief that Christianity devotes it's time to discriminating against gays and molesting children and fearing the unknown.

I've spoken to non-religious individuals and were surprised about how little they knew about Catholicism (I am Catholic, if you didn't know), let alone Christianity. Now I get that some areas of the United States may be less densley populated by Christians, but this was in Glasgow, where around 1 in 3 or 4 schools are state-run Catholic-schools.

Maybe there's a direct lack of education about Christianity in schools? I just can't fathome it.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were the case either. I really don't understand how people manage to be so ignorant about these kind of things. Atheism is very fashionable nowadays, but by definition don't you have to know a little bit about what you have absolutely no belief in?

Not difficult. The flights between here and there are cheap. Of course there's nothing to compare them to, given that from here you can only really fly to the east coast of Australia, Los Angeles or Singapore. Pretty easy to work out the relative prices of those.

You could probably get a direct flight to Wellington from Sydney. Otherwise you'd be flying into Auckland and then flying (half an hour), driving (you can see and stop along the way, and have a rental car for smaller excursions too; 8 hour minimum), or train-ing (highly recommended because of the things you can see on this route that roads don't go near; 10-11 hours) to Wellington.

I'm not the best person to ask about getting here, though, because I've never left. Though if you can organise a trip to Australia, it's not much more of a stretch to come here.
