Police brutality can never be justified for a peaceful protest. As to what Occupy movements need to do, I think not having defined goals is actually an advantage. Putting aside my comments about how I find it difficult to associate with people protesting about fluoridated water with dreadlocks and bongos, the fact that they have no defind list of demands means I can essentially attach my own demands to this movement: when I say I support Occupy, I am saying that I support a model of government with no corporate influence. Other people may make their own demands, ranging from the very moderate to the very radical. You're right though. It is hard to be specific and targeted with criticism when there are so many criticisms. I'm not sure that needs to be addressed though. I think the movement is doing exactly what it should be doing. All anyone should be concerned with is spurious attempts by authorities to break the movement up ('health and safety', etc... everyone has a right to protest and to peacefully assemble). This is Occupy for me:
no arguemnt there. Im good thanks dude, how about yourself? I just saw a video of an occupy protest where police used their batons to beat a woman in the stomach and other protesters who were not being violent. Its starting to sicken me. All this bs needs to stop. They need to go about this another way. They need to identify more specifically where the corruption is coming from, name and shame, and target the specific areas of government. That way its not like theyre "oh the government is evil blah blah" and might give them more credability. I cant stand to see women beat up, thats the straw for me.
It's fun if you're inside one of those alliances. If, like me, you participated casually, it takes away all desire to play. How are you anyway?
There were always unspoken alliances in the elims. When you have a game of that nature, you have to expect things like that. If it takes away the fun, then the game isnt fun, because thats exactly how its played. I never took it seriously, but serious enough to want to at least attempt to win. The people who got voted out are the ones that were having a cry. I tried to defend you in your absense, good sir, but did not succeed.
That reminds me of those plastic balls that people fill with water and roll down the hills. Looks like they put on a great show.
^ Like that Not to mention we did the visual effects for Avatar. I don't know what you're getting at. I hate everyone here equally.
So he does a sort of log walk using the plastic ball? like how they did with logs in water? because thats a talent in itself. Pfft, as if they dont tour new zealand. Don't they know thats where they filmed Lord of the Rings? Anyway, I had an avocado sandwhich the other day. I tried to like it, but I destested it so much that I thought I was having an alergic reaction. Ever feel that way about people? like, certain people on the forum? haha
They are, but mine have all finished, so they aren't for me. Looking less likely. I may have found actual work over summer, and I think my family's going to Auckland over Christmas, which takes out a likely time of travel. Although I'd really like to be there over the next two weeks. The Flaming Lips are doing two shows in Melbourne (and conveniently ignoring the existence of New Zealand). They're one of my favourite bands, and have one of the most acclaimed live shows (the frontman usually gets on one of the giant plastic ball things and rolls across the audience.
So exams are still going? I havnt a clue how the student world works, i've been out of it for while. Still coming to melbourne?
They went awesome thanks! Just finished up. Unfortunately it's really early to finish exams by now. All my friends are still studying. So just sort of chilling for a week before I can get drunk and wake up with no pants.
Hope your exams are going well.
re; minimum word poll. Nix had a shitfit that moderaters wern't doing their job. I noticed this was posted directly after he was banned (was lurkin). I dont understand why they feel the need to do this if he was the only one with the problem. They neutrilized him already.
Yeah exactly. but because the school is my host employer, and Im in the I.T dept. The only work I have to do is for my cert IV in networking, which is done in my own time. Its definitly a perk of working within a school, the holidays are fantastic. I never use the numpad. Only accountants would find it usefull. You know, real number crunchers. Only 1 week left. I love being on holidays. late night poker, beer and psp sessions.
Not really: only big games/the World Cup/when NZ is winning. Because you work at a school? My parents are both teachers. They've been getting huge summer breaks and 2 weeks off every 10 weeks their entire careers. Of course, they're not really breaks (they have to do marking, and make assignments and stuff). I am rather jealous though. I never really watched a lot of that show, but Sheen really was the whole point of it. I would've just stopped production, but they probably had everyone already paid and stuff. **** man, my full stop/greater than button is ****ed. I have to use the one on the number pad. It's super irritating.
heh. Do you follow rugby? Man, this is my last week of work before I get a 2 week break. Im in such a good mood. Did I mention that its a paid break? And did I also mention that it doesnt use any of my annual leave? Oh yeah, dont forget that two and a half men is on tomorrow, ashton kutcher is replacing charlie. Im interested to see how this fails and if the episode is more serious or light hearted.
