Crime and Punishment is a superb book. At some points ol' Dostoyevsky does take the 'paid by the page' principle to extremes, but nonetheless, it's a great story filled with passages that make you stop and think. Guilt, redemption, love, family. It's a big book, but worth it.

I have to admit, I don't really like much of Gervais apart from Extras. The Office was a bit...I don't quite know how to describe it. I just never got on with it. The small-talk politics and so on was ripe to be made into comedy, but the lead was always just a little too out-there for me. I love Extras though, especially the episode with Bowie.

Completely agree. I remember at school when they were explaining the concept of a 'just war', and I could not grasp it, at all. I mean how can war ever be justified? There are better ways to go about it, and the effects of it are disgusting, and that is one of the major lessons of history.
