Yeah that's the problem with contemporary war, the fact that most of the casualties of war are civilians. That and supposed 'divine support'... did you know that old G. Bush Jr. told J. Chirac in 2002 that Iraq needed to be invaded to stop Gog and Magog, the Old Testament agents of the devil? Shiit... he's just so stupid. If these people need to get their testosterone school-boy-ism out of them, they should just slug it out on a field, or better yet, a spot of chess. Yeah, I'm being silly, but surely not as silly as killing civilians who want nothing to do with petty power politics?
That's what was so new about WW I. It was the first 'Great War', because civilians were becoming possible casulties, whereas in previous centuries, there were more battlefield-like situations. War is nothing more than terrorism enjoying a government's support.
Completely agree. I remember at school when they were explaining the concept of a 'just war', and I could not grasp it, at all. I mean how can war ever be justified? There are better ways to go about it, and the effects of it are disgusting, and that is one of the major lessons of history.
Well, it's not like they had a choice. They were fighting for their country as much as the Belgian, Dutch, French, British. You name it. Too bad they had a ****ed up leader like little Adolf. We're not pissed off at the Germans. I don't think my grandparents are either. They were like 6 years old when the war started I think, but it's war you know. Awful things happened, but the German soldiers were just soldiers who happened to grow up in the wrong country. War is the most repulsive thing. Politicians try to accomplish things by killing civilians.
