It can be haha. What happens a lot is I'll get one verse and a chorus out real quickly and then when it's time to write the second, I draw a blank and have to come back to it. Other times, the words just spill out and it's more finding a melody that challenges me. But when I do finish one that I like for more than the initial "I FINISHED THIS SONG" phase, it's really rewarding.

And yeah! Right on, I think it's good to go outside of what you specialize in. I wish I could be more exact, but I remember once my dad telling me he had been doing some reading or had gone to a conference about something not really related to geriatric psychiatry, but something he learned from that gave him a new perspective and method to diagnosing/treating alzheimer's in his practice. Anyway, tldr, good idea.

That's awesome. My dad is a psychiatrist (mostly geriatric) and my mom is a developmental pediatrician, so at least once growing up I pondered going in that direction. That's very cool. Is there something specific that interests you about the field (like... family, forensic, certain disorders, etc), or is it pretty much all encompassing at this point?

I recently finished my undergrad, BFA in performing arts. I've been pulled toward some form of art pretty much all my life, it's just finding what works. These days, I write songs.
