Relaxing is good. Always plenty to do.

Motivation is something you have to figure out. You have to find something that truly pushes you. Which means understanding yourself a little. Once you know what motivates you the rest will come in time.

They should both be pretty likeable, though Yori being how he is at times can make Yumi a little more easier to like, but he warms up. You got Haruo's sub-arc next though which should be interesting for you.

Rewriting takes as much effort as writing, since you still have to write. You just already know what is happening. But you still have to rely on motivation.

You hit the siblings sub-arc then. Yeah, the way he learns about it is pretty rough, but I like the way he confronts it. It shows a lot of his character. The sub-arc is more about Yori then Yumi, since she already had one, but their story is really interesting to follow.

Tomorrow and the next off huh? I guess that means you can read plenty of Shift then. ;p Well sometimes you just have to sit down and start writing something. Even if it is not what you want it can be enough to get you started.

Considering what is happening in the second arc, people shouldn't get too bored with things. Each fight is quite a bit different from the next. There is almost something interesting and new popping up. That has been the goal.

Developing your characters is a good thing to do. A strongly developed character is always better than dozens of empty ones.

Well it is more a case of Yuki has established himself a style to use in fighting. So with a style determined it is going to be less variable what he ends up doing. There are some new skills he is going to learn during the second arc that will make him more variable again, but I'm not there yet. So there's that as well.

That's good you using time to think up stuff. I think about my stories going to work quite a lot too.

Focusing on a game huh? Games do tend to do that a lot.

Yeah, his imagination is a key and something that I try to take advantage of as much as I can. It is not always easy and I have to pick my times when I do. But it a constant source of things I can play with for him.

He was designed to be helpless for a while to counter the standard trope that the main character is always protecting and saving everyone else. I wanted him to be saved and protected for a while. I wanted to subvert things. I do subvert a lot of tropes.

You're correct, the false memory was a mental block on his part that kept him from being willing to do anything. Explains his passive state for the last year or so, huh? ^^

Yeah, I figured that might change your heart about Ayumi with that scene. She's got some really good heartfelt and kinder stories to her, you just have to learn what she was like before she is now. You'll get to learn more of that in the second arc, which part there as her back story.

Yeah, things are a lot easier for him now. The last little push give him control over his powers, as before it was a true release. So that is why he couldn't actually use it properly.

Yup, Yuki can actually use his power freely now. So he can actually make some pretty inventive uses of it. Get set for a wild ride now. ^^

Less than 30 actually, the first arc is only 96 chapters long I think.

Yeah, I've got a lot of plans for all of them. Their powers will evolve and grow as well. So you can look forward to seeing new stuff from them, even into the second arc.

Yeah, the first Seiji sub-arc was meant as a foreshadowing of this. Almost nothing that I put into the story doesn't have some sort of smaller origin where you can see it came from something. The smallest of details are very important in the story because they end up being the big important things later on.

Seiji is certainly filled with a lot of entertainment. I have quite a bit of fun with him. He ends up writing a lot of the stuff he himself because he is a easy personality to figure out. He's all brawn and no thought when it comes to acting. Though he can have surprising moments of awareness. So he ends up appearing more complex than you might originally take him for.

It's a pretty common theme for Shounen to have a big hurdle that the hero fights to reach and overcome. So I certainly will take advantage of that. Demosthenes won't be the only either. There will be other monolithic like figures in the story to contend with in future arcs.

All the way through the first three sub-arcs are the big shift. So that means you understand that people have specials powers now. You can start seeing more of that Shounen in the story. Seiji was definitely probably my favorite with the scenes he has with the ghost, she is a lot of fun.

Yeah, Demosthenes was put specifically as that tall milestone that Yuki has to struggle to reach. It was necessary to show him early and give someone that won't be easily defeated and be back again later.

From the sounds of it you read more than a chapter or two. But yes, one of the things you will find that I do is that I give everyone an equal chance to be awesome and stand in the center. It is an important thing for me to know that each character is just as important as Yuki. He might be the main character, but that doesn't mean he needs to solve everything or even can solve everything.
