  1. It was a breath of fresh air so I can't complain. I realized he wasn't so helpless when I started learning about his past so I knew he would eventually get better. And with imagination as vast as his, I doubt the chapters will get dull

Unrelated topic but I just wanted to say progress has been going smooth yet slowly on my end. I tried multitasking, but apparently much progress can't get done when you focus more on a game. ._.
  2. He was designed to be helpless for a while to counter the standard trope that the main character is always protecting and saving everyone else. I wanted him to be saved and protected for a while. I wanted to subvert things. I do subvert a lot of tropes.
  3. And once he got over that mental block, he was able to control his power better. I was actually wondering if he was going to be nearly helpless the whole time. Guess not.

I'd like to see how far everyone develops now. To the next chapter we go.
  4. You're correct, the false memory was a mental block on his part that kept him from being willing to do anything. Explains his passive state for the last year or so, huh? ^^

Yeah, I figured that might change your heart about Ayumi with that scene. She's got some really good heartfelt and kinder stories to her, you just have to learn what she was like before she is now. You'll get to learn more of that in the second arc, which part there as her back story.
  5. It was also that false "memory" that held him back, if I'm not mistaken.

I'm going to tell you right now that I have a much better opinion about Ayumi after seeing her display her real emotions as well as catching a glimpse of her past. ^^
  6. 96, 97, close enough. ^^

Yeah, things are a lot easier for him now. The last little push give him control over his powers, as before it was a true release. So that is why he couldn't actually use it properly.
  7. I knew he has gotten better but being able to use it freely would make things easier for him. Of course, there's always the possibility of much stronger assassins.

And I thought it was 97, but we're both close enough.
  8. Yup, Yuki can actually use his power freely now. So he can actually make some pretty inventive uses of it. Get set for a wild ride now. ^^

Less than 30 actually, the first arc is only 96 chapters long I think.
  9. Gee, just 30? Yeah, that's not a long time from now >.>

Yuki disguising as an old man. Genius.
  10. Yeah, I look forward to hearing back from you about it. You only have about 30 chapters to the end of the first arc.
  11. As always, you can count on a (very) brief review at certain points. I'm already starting 70.
  12. Yeah, I've got a lot of plans for all of them. Their powers will evolve and grow as well. So you can look forward to seeing new stuff from them, even into the second arc.
  13. It's a detail I didn't miss, as you can obviously tell. I kept thinking having other characters having powers would make things even more interesting than they already were. And after the fight with Demosthenes, it looks like Saki may have something as well.

I'll stay tuned to see what becomes of Seiji. I know I'll eventually catch up.
  14. Yeah, the first Seiji sub-arc was meant as a foreshadowing of this. Almost nothing that I put into the story doesn't have some sort of smaller origin where you can see it came from something. The smallest of details are very important in the story because they end up being the big important things later on.

Seiji is certainly filled with a lot of entertainment. I have quite a bit of fun with him. He ends up writing a lot of the stuff he himself because he is a easy personality to figure out. He's all brawn and no thought when it comes to acting. Though he can have surprising moments of awareness. So he ends up appearing more complex than you might originally take him for.
  15. I figured Yuki wasn't going to be the only one with powers after he and Seiji took down an assassin together far back in the story. And you guessed it, Seiji's sub-arc is my favorite out of the three. There's something about him that pulls me more to the story, it's probably just the way you made him. Plus the scenes with the ghost woman were hilarious. You know how much I appreciate comedy.
