Well I am glad that is something we can easily agree upon haha. It would be nice to see some new young blood here and to pick up some activity. ID has been slow for a while now, with a few scarce posts from time to time heh. I have been in a non posting funk for a while now but find myself slowly getting out of it. Until recently though a lot of the topics were just hard for me to take interest to. Then again that could be due to real life issues.
It is good we share the same priority then. Perhaps the two of us can get this place active again, even if doing it our own ways.
Well buddy it would be appreciated if you do that so that we can discuss the issues in private. Some of the stuff we have discussed was probably better if we would of used the PM system but I have nothing to really hide haha. As for where I stand, I stand firmly with the forum. It is priority for me and seeing it is dear to me it should come first.
In that case I feel I have been too hasty in my judgement and I apologise for calling you biased - that is supposing the posts in that thread were reported first and the conjecture I've heard about minimal warnings to a group's members is false. I felt certain due to the volume of the information I received but I'm the first to admit most of it wasn't that high in quality. I will avoid making similar accusations in the future without PMing you about it first. Either way though, I plan on keeping with my little game. Where you decide to stand is up to you, but know I find inaction just as bad as action when people suffer for it. I'll try and be civil, play nice and all that.
Really it depends on the situation at hand. I generally take a time before just handing out a warning for what I consider a major violation even though it is usually pretty clear. Things like multiple accounts is pretty much a no brainer. Discrimination, harassment, repeat violations of the same rule, blatant disrespect to members of the forum or the forum itself (outside of minor jabs). Basically anything that people could really take offense to. These are just a few examples but I think it will get you in the right mind set as to where I am going with it. As for multiple offenses in the same thread, this to varies depending on the situation but generally a warning will be issued to the last offense and an explanation of all of the offenses will be mentioned in the mod comments. Depending on the violation will also determine the step that I take to choose what percentage warning that person gets. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. As for me going off, it was set into motion that the system was getting cheated and to your surprise it was not that person that you are referring to. I had received multiple complaints that inactive members were showing up to ruin the game. The game is intended for active members only. Similar complaints were being made the year before and I was / am determined to not let it happen again. Like I said I was rash with my decision (mainly because I was having a really bad) and I did not take the proper time to look into it. I would of done the same thing if it would of been anyone. I realized my decision was rash and requested the thread temporarily closed so I could converse with Ann and to look into things more in-depth. After realizing the mistake I had Ann delete everything that had happened and started making apologies. There is nothing more I can do but offer my apologies to the people I offended and that is why I went ahead and made a public apology also. As for the driving force behind my bad decision, it was clearly just me. There was no one guiding me to do something. That move was not made by me as a mod but as the host of the game and due to that error I will probably relinquish my control over that game for next year unless popular vote wants me to continue on doing so.
That seems fair enough thus far, but what constitutes a 'major violation' and how are your warnings effected by multiple warn-worthy posts in one thread? And perhaps most to the point, what was with targeting two members in that game who at the time weren't doing anything? All I saw was you doing that so as far as I know, that was you, but a few voices have muttered it may have been someone else pulling your strings (I'll leave the name out as I have seen no evidence at all so I'd consider it slander, but you probably can surmise who looking at the context). If not, I can PM you privately as it's really no-one I care for this time.
Well names would not be necessary if you can see that the point percentages are fairly even across the board or almost always of equal value. I do believe there is an error that occurs with the warning system. Due to the warning system being a hack I think there is flaws in the system that cause the percentages to only show up part of the time for normal members. They are always there for me and I am sure it is the same way for the rest of the staff. Part of the reason I award lower warnings most of the time is to keep the site visibly appealing because the system does show up from time to time on the posts. New members won't be tempted to stay if they see a lot of the members having warning percentages above 50%. I use the larger percentage warnings for major violations. That is why I give lower percentage warnings for mild offenses. I tend to use the Prewarning / spam warning a lot. Like I said this is not just limited to the people you are referring to but to everyone. Also I tend to give verbal warnings to new members before actually moving on to a spam warning or I will just go ask the person to remove the offense. Most of the time this is done via a PM or VM so a lot of the time it is not noticed because it is done behind the scenes. Hope this clarifies some things for you.
Kind of defeats the point of being proof of being unbiased if the names are blocked, though I do not ask for that info. As for what I'm going by, word of mouth and sometimes warnings are viewable in red text at the bottom of a post for whatever reason. I have to wonder if that is buggy though as it seems to come and go.
Silver, have you seen my warnings, not only to the individuals that you are talking about but to everyone that I have issued warnings to? As stated I give lighter infractions to everyone unless it is a major violation or if the person has been warned before because of the same infraction, you would know this if you could see the warnings I have issued to everyone. I am currently trying to get a list composed for you of all of the warnings I have issued. Of course the names of the individuals would be blurred out because I can not give that information but you will be able to see the point percentages. That is if I can even get that information. Right now I can only get a list of all warnings issued by all mods. I doubt you have access to see all of the warnings I have issued, I can't even tell you the names of everyone that I have issued warnings to. But until you can see that information you have no grounds as to call me biased. That is what I am referring to when I state that you don't have sufficient evidence to be making claims like that. And as I explained to Vicky, the only reason I went off like that is because of events that happened in last years elimination. I admitted I made a rash decision but no matter who I felt was getting cheated I would of went off the same way. Also I can not see deleted posts outside of my own forums and most social groups, only S-mods and Admins have that ability.
The only allegation I have made is that you're biased. Legit evidence can be seen through minimal warnings and those deleted posts in that one word game (soft deleted so you should be able to quite literally see them still). The only aim I have given is being against any group that acts inappropriately and that is exactly what I have been doing. I have been quite forthcoming about that as I see no need to protect myself as I do others.
Silver, if you present something legit then I will gladly listen. You have not been able to back up any allegation that you have made against me. I encourage you along with anyone else to come and talk with me if you / they see something they don't agree with. On the other hand I don't want people to sit there and let things build up and escalate into something more then what it is by not coming to me. I didn't say you were trolling me in particular and I would hope that you wouldn't seeing that we are friends. I for see where that conversation was going and decided to put a stop to it before it further damaged our friendship. No actually it was quite the opposite, I was hoping that by me mentioning it that you might see that the way you use to act was a far better way for someone to act to get their point across. I miss that Silver. We had good times when you were that way Nathan. Also that comment wasn't concerning what you have said to me, it is based off of what I have seen through out the forum. Outside of the minimal flaming I think we have kept that conversation pretty civil and for that I thank you. And I was not being sarcastic when I said "have a good day buddy", I just wanted to clarify that if you took it that way.
