I think I figured it out, but I use the magic wand, and there's still a little white around the image...is there a way to get rid of that? it's not a lot but noticeable...

As a matter of fact...lol. I'm actually working on the first draft of a novel right now. Discipline is a real issue for me but I'm getting better. If all goes according to plan I should have it done by the end of next month, provided I actually stay on schedule this month.
