Life is good. It's boring right now, because I am stuck at home most of the time, but other than that, nothing to complain about. As for what I do in my free time, I mostly listen to music. I'll play games and do some art if I feel like it. That's about it.

I found this site, and it has links to all kinds of articles about linguistics. The site tells you who wrote the article and gives you some contact information as well.

There's a whole archive of articles located to the right of the page that I linked to. I hope that's what you are looking for. If it isn't, I'll try again, but this is the best that I found that was free. The other stuff cost money to look at, or you had to subscribe to the site.

Who are the specific writers that you're looking for? If you give me a name or what the articles are about, then I'll try my best to help, but I can't really do much without at least a name or a topic.

I work for a sub devision of Lufthansa Technik. We work on anything and every thing that surrounds the engines on aircraft. I have worked all over the facility but I am currently the acting Sr. Tech over the bonding department.

Seeing I hold that posistion I also get the really hard and interesting jobs, the down side is that ifwe are slow I am usually the first one to be pulled off of parts. I have a really bad habit of working to fast and running my department out of work haha.

Actually I have alot of respect for you for choosing English as a second language. The base language is very simplistic but due to slang, accents and dialects I think it is by far one of the hardest languages to learn all together.

I have no problem with the linguists of America and for most of the world but there are times when I am talking to someone half way across the world that use a phrase I have never heard before I am left scratching my head thinking "what"?

As long as someone is using the base structure to English I have no problems understanding people. I work with forigners so the accents are not a problem, my company is German owned.

As for who talks more, I would say it is not a woman / male agenda but more of a person to person.

I have been doing pretty good. Been very busy over the last few months though. Ready for a real vacation hahah.

Life has been going pretty good. The new kiddo has kept me on my toes though and the older boy isn't helping much either haha. But for having 2 kids now I would say life has started to return to normal somewhat.

I did a little research and found this:

A dialect is usually spoken by people who live in a certain region of a country. Those people speak their mother tongue in their own individual way. For example, many Scottish people have a dialect.

An accent usually describes the way people pronounce words of a language that is different from their mother tongue. For example, Arnold Schwarzenegger speaks English with an Austrian accent.

So basically, the difference is that a dialect is noticable among people of the same region, (just like you noticed that people from the south where you live speak differently from those who live in the east) whereas an accent is more noticable when you hear a person speak who is not from that region.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be a Vampire either. It would be terrible to watch your loved ones get older and go on with life while you stay the same. Eventually, you would be left alone with no loved ones left in the world. It would get really lonely... Good thing there are no such thing as real Vampires.

Yah I'm going to have those after break. My finger is good no brews or swollen.
