Your cat needs extra hugs is all. Serious, when you set the bowl in from of him next time, scratch his neck behind his/her whiskers This will completely mellow your cat out and worst case scenario, he'll have you trained to come scratch him on his neck when he eats. It will get better. The female cat(precious) actually trained me to do this for her every meal, and both the other cats just viewed it as a luxury. They were startled at first but eventually it makes them melt in your hand and somehow they purr ferociously while eating. Oddly my cat now(Cosmo) likes it, not a big deal for him cause he just meows like crazy in different tones while I'm dishing up his food and he has this distinct meow letting me me he's hungry until we get to his room. It can frustrate some people but I see it as the time to talk to him normally in a calm manner. At least cats aren't as emotionally shallow as dogs.

As far as the whining goes, he might have been trying to communicate. Like when a cat cackles or makes the ticking sound if they see a bird or bug, they're trying to communicate with it to lure it in as a form of intimidation and distraction so they can creep in closer for the kill.
Also I had two cat's that never made a peep, they always had everything they ever needed. The male lived for 21 human years. I have a cat now "Cosmo" he was abandoned as a kitten and kept meowing at me when I left for high-school during the winter times because he was all alone in the freezing cold. We took him in and today 13 years later he still love to meow or whine all the time each meow has a different meaning . Different meows if he wants outside, play, food, or just entering a room and wants to say 'Hi' or cuddle. This cat definitely has a huge appreciation for life and his loved one's and it's obvious to see through his communication.
I'm not saying my older cats didn't have an appreciation but maybe the other cat meow's all the time because maybe we take for granted what we've got until we've lost everything and have had to start from zero.

Yeah ... my teachers will think that I'm crazy : I will come to my High School with binoculars and walkies-talkie and I will begin to talk to myself xD Ha ha They will bring me to a mental home after that !

Thank you In fact, it becomes an habit : every week ( the Wednesday and the Sunday ) I put a new polish on my nails ( new color ) with glitter or no it depends.
Now it's night-blue with little yellow dots and blue glitter ! Haaaa lol
My favorite color is blue and sometimes purple and yeah ! Always choosing one at random and after according other colors with the one chosen ^^

Yeah ... I always wanted to play to one musical instrument ... but never did T.T So when I hear someone playing to the piano or guitar I am always O.O If she is playing very well, she can try Hope's theme from FF XIII ... it's only guitar and I enjoy it.
