I don't like the thought of natural disasters. When I was a freshman in HS I was told we were super past due for a big one since we literally sit on the San Andreas , and since then I've been paranoid whenever we get smaller ones....like it might trigger the big one :s

Compared to Haiti's population per square mile added with the poverty level...it certainly does demonstrate magnitude versus vulnerability. But it is gratifying, after Haiti's misfortune, to see NZ come out okay. I personally have never experienced an earthquake (despite living almost literally on top of the New Madrid Fault), but with all the recent 7+ quakes, I can't imagine I'll be left out too much longer...

Well, that's good no one died. At least not of the earthquake. Strict building codes, eh? I wonder if the US has anything like that in effect, particularly given the earthquakes California gets. Heh, I figured it didn't really effect you as per you were answering people about it without seeming all that rattled, but I thought I'd make sure. Anyone you know affected, though?

Heh, "obscure" ska sounds a little redundant to me. Ever heard of ska-punk, though? Or Ska-Core? Although those bands have a lot of rap involved, usually. Let me introduce you to this band. Although those songs are seperated by like 8 years, at the end, the band still implimented ska elements into their music at the end. But yeah; it's fair to say I listen to a lot of obscure music, I will admit that.

Out of curiosity, what kind of music would you peg me as listening to? Also, reading the last couple comments to you, there was an earthquake down there? I hadn't heard that. Everything okay down there?

Heard about the quake, man. Hope it didn't inconvenience. Hell of a thing, 7.1 and no one died.

Yeah we live directly on the fault, and that earthquake was pretty big so I figure it would spread. Our earthquakes lately haven't been that big, they've been small for the most part, the biggest one was around 6. Something so you guys win.

I have yet to experience one that causes structural damage. its one of my biggest fears lol
