    Toy Story 3

So I went and saw this last night based almost entirely on a whim. I don't think I've seen any of the Pixar movies in theatres since The Incredibles (unless the drive-in counts; saw Wall-E there.) When I got there, I realized that I'd seen the other two in theatres when they came out too, though I haven't watched them in years, so a lot of the references in this new one were lost on me (I remembered the major things though, so it wasn't like I was totally lost.)

...gosh, it was quite the wave of Nostalgia in some ways. Doesn't seem like the original Toy Story is already like 14 years old; that seems wrong, heh. The movie itself takes place probably about the same number of years later, and the major theme is moving on. The end is so bittersweet, as I was driving home, I was feeling it still. This morning, too. I even downloaded the soundtrack. Now I want the trilogy on Bluray. Pixar makes undeniably good movies...

Kinda funny, but young Butch from Fallout 3 (the bully) kind of reminds me of Sid from Toy Story. Anyhoo...

Yeah, I saw it with someone and wasn't expecting to enjoy it a fraction as much as I did.
Despite the movie being targeting children it still managed to cater for older viewers much of the time.

Ken's scenes in particular got several laughs out of me.

I've not seen Toy Story 3 yet, but I'm really looking forward to seeing. I'm just worried that it might turn out to be quite crap, films often get ruined after a few, like shrek and Ice age for example. I loved the first two from each film but after that, the other film Shrek 3 & 4 and Ice age 3 wernt as fun too watch, didn't make me laugh a much as the first the films, and the Toy Story films were great, I don't want a third to ruin the good run.

Same here. I remember I was really excited to see Shrek 3 and was very disappointed. I loved the first 2 Toy Stories, but I'm kind of hesistant to watch the 3rd because it might be crap just like you said.

I thought it was super fun, really. Can't think of much that I didn't enjoy.

I gotta agree with you Telegraph, I really wasn't in too much of a rush to see and and kinda got dragged to it by my significant other but I actually enjoyed it very much. I was laughing a lot more then I expected to and I liked all the new characters that they incorporated into the movie. It was very nostalgic as well, great movie from Pixar.

    Re: Toy Story 3

I saw it the day it came out at the cinema and I am glad I did. It really isn't as bad as some people think it's going to be. I would go as far as saying that it was probably the best of the 3.

They really went all out with it. I'm glad they waited this long to make and release it, because if they had made too many too quickly, it would have gotten stale.

I absolutely loved the story, it was very well thought out.

    Re: Toy Story 3

Yeah, for those who are worried, I would personally put it above 2. It has a bit of a different tone than the first two did as well (maybe due to the fact that John Lasseter wasn't directly involved in directing this time?) There is a reason it's at 99% at Rotten Tomatoes; 3 critics are full of shit (nah, they're entitled to their opinion...)

A big difference I noticed from the first two is that there aren't any original pop songs in the middle of the movie. "You've got a friend in me" plays during an early montage, and then two other pop songs play over the credits-including this rendition of You'e Got a Friend In Me-but that's it. Anyhoo...

    Re: Toy Story 3

You have to hand it to Pixar - their sequels are pretty much the only sequels Disney releases that don't suck dismally compared to the originals. I get the feeling this is why I personally was so surprised by how good it was.
If you're on the fence I urge you to give it a go!

Yeah great film the Blue-ray is out today and I think the trilogies pack too. You guys know originally this wasn't the script for it, it had a whole different story and theme to it about Buzz being defective and having to get fixed in Taiwan.

    Re: Toy Story 3

So, I finally got to see this movie after downloading it through iTunes. I saw that it was available, and was like "Hmmm, I should really get that!"

Oh man... And what a great movie it was! There were quite a few moments made me tear up though... Haha.. I even spoiled myself a bit on it by checking out some info about the story beforehand and it still got to me. There were some pretty hilarious moments too, so it had a good balance going.

Omg. I saw bits and pieces of this movie the other night, but I watched the ending. I almost cried, I literally almost cried. I need to fully watch it to get the story. I know I'm going to love the movie like I did with 1 and 2.

Ive pre-ordered the trilogy, cant wait for it to arrive

Me and my mate took the kid to go see Toy Story 3 at the pics, I remember going to see the first one, it was a proper nostagia trip. It lived up to expectations as well, I thought it was brilliant

And Im not ashamed to admit I cried hahaha

Infact, practically every adult in there was baw'ing away, and the kids were bloody fine!

    Re: Toy Story 3

I have yet to see Toy Story 3, but everyone has told me that it is a fantastic movie.

I was a huge fan of the first two, so hopefully when I watch this I will fall for it as quickly as I did the first two.

Also on a side note I love the horse, what was his name? Bullseye I believe.

Sitting here waiting for Rocky, and Che to notice me!!

    Re: Toy Story 3

This movie is not for the kids, Im just puttin that out there. It was like watching the notebook...men dont cry though, they man glaze over the eye...but this movie had my eyes extra glazed. I guess to kids its all fun and toys, but the story line has got to be written for the adults. DANG!
