Doctor Destiny or Clayface for the villains. We've already seen The Riddler in Batman Forever, so it wouldn't really be anything new. There are so much great villains in Batman that have never made it to the films. I want to see something new.
What do you think's gonna happen? Who's gonna be in it?
The Riddler might be in it. I think there might actually be room for Harley Quinn in it.

I would like to see Harley Quinn, she hasn't had a movie yet and it would be good to see if she would take revenge on batman for getting the joker arrested, I know they have done the Riddler before but if they re-done him they could make him better, like they did with the joker, Jack Nicholson was good, but heath ledger was better, Jim Carrey was good someone else might be better, if that makes sense??
I heard somewhere that 2face was supposed to be in the new film but i don't see how when he died in the last one, although i read from someone that he wasn't really dead hmmmmm, no i don't think he will be the villain he's had his movie time, it's time for a new villain so im hoping for Harley Quinn.

In The Batman comic books, one of the ways that Harvey Two-Face is supposedly defeated early on isHis death was then announced by Gotham authority, but that is just a cover up, because if anybody found out what Harvey Dent did, all the criminals that he and Gordon have captured would have been released. The public can never find out about it, and the best way to keep it under raps, is to let the people think that Dent died defending Gotham from The Batman.
Spoiler: he's thrown from a balcony, very similar to the ending scene in The Dark Knight.
Harley isn't half as good w/o Joker (although it was always neat when she teamed up w/Poison Ivy)...the tension between the two is what really made her character.
The Riddler was always a half-assed member of Batman's Rouge's Gallery...
I'd much rather see Mr. Freeze. He always had one of the best background stories of his villains and was one of the ones who could actually kill him. Besides, we need to wash that horrible Arnold Freeze taste out of our mouths.

Yeeeaaahhhh...
Well, I suppose they could do Mr. Freeze, but he would not only have to do it spot on (like the Heath Ledger comparison with the Joker), but I think they would REALLY have to be able to capture his soft, loveless side that was portrayed in the comics, or else he's not going to appeal to many people in the audience...

Although I can't quote any exact source for this but I have been told that for the third Batman film, the villians are The Riddler and Catwoman. Not the best if choices but the way the previous two films have been going, I think they could make it work. Also again from the same person who told me of the two villians, they mentioned that they are trying to cast Johnny Depp (any mis-spelling of the name, I'm sorry fangirls. Please don't kill me) as the Riddler. From pervious performances of him, I think he'd be perfect for that role.

Well, to be honest, they're sticking with more plausible characters, who won't be supernatural as Mr. Freeze was. Plus, after the last Mr. Freeze showing, I think it'd be better to forget that all together.
From what I've read, Aaron Eckhart is signed on to do two movies, meaning that he will be featured in the next Batman film. The truth is, he didn't die at the end, but was just knocked out. Throughout the comics, Batman doesn't kill people by his own hand, and Nolan wants to keep the movies in the spirit of the comics as much as he possibly can. The good Dr. Stantz covers this, as does the recurring theme of the movie, "You either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain."
From what I've been reading though, a few names have been tossed around, even going so far as to have Halle Berry reprise her role as Catwoman. I've also heard about the Riddler, but he was kind of a laughingstock in the last movie he was in. It could be done, but I don't see him being a dark character. Now, the Penguin would be an incredible character to add. He could be an arms dealer for the mob and fueling a gang army against batman. Could be sick, but I couldn't see anyone else but DeVito playing it.
I don't care what people say though, the Joker just can't be redone in the next movie. We'd need a good 20 years before it's attempted again, like with Nicholson.

You've honestly never heard of Doctor Destiny? Haven't you ever read the Justice League comic books? He's probably the best villain that they've ever faced. He doesn't have any real powers, but he uses this thing called Materioptikon to create reality from the fabric of dreams.
They could also use Maxie Zeus. He was never a major villain of Gotham, but he's just a really cool bad guy. The guy literally thinks that he's the god Zeus, and he used electrically-based weaponry to emulate Zeus.
Most likely Doctor Destiny or Maxie Zeus won't be used, seeing as they're not major villains, and not well known. I'm hoping for someone better than The Riddler and Catwoman, though. Perhaps Professor Hugo Strange. I'm pretty sure he's a major villain.
Pete, the director already said no Penguin. So that's thrown out.
But honestly, with the Thor movie coming out in 2 years, I doubt they're gonna use that Zeus guy...
I would like to see Harley Quinn, but since Ledger bit the dust... well, that might be a little harder to do.

Another name being tossed around the interwebz for Catwoman was Cher, but she denied involvement to Perez Hilton. I'd hate to see Halle Berry reprise her role as Catwoman, personally.
Speaking of female roles, on other forums, I've heard members suggest that one of the villains be Talia al Ghul - the daughter of Ra's al Ghul, one of the villains in Batman Begins. Their ideas were to have her seeking revenge for her father, and of course, be a love interest of Batman's (as she is in the comics).
If the Riddler were to be redone as a dark character, I think someone like Johnny Depp, who really becomes whatever role he plays (much like Ledger as the Joker - part of the reason it shouldn't ever be redone), would be a good choice. It's quite the shame to hear that the Penguin won't be in it though.
Ra's al Ghul is immortal, or at least he supposedly was in the comics (even though Nyssa Raatko and Talia appeared to kill him in a current issue). Even if Talia al Ghul is in the next Batman film, she was never really a major villain. She always worked off of Ra's al Ghul's will. So if Telia was a supporting character, that would mean that they would have to make Ra's an immortal. I honestly don't see anything wrong with that. That would be a pretty cool storyline.
I don't have any major qualms with it.
In other news,
Still, you never know I guess!Aaron Eckhardt's Two-Face Will Not Be Coming Back!
We now know who we won't be seeing in another Christopher Nolan Batman film. CHUD recently spoke to Aaron Eckhart, who played Harvey Dent/Two-Face in the blockbuster The Dark Knight and the actor said there are no plans for his character's return.
"He's dead," Eckhart said before the question was even finished. Eckhart also mentioned that he asked that very same question to director Christopher Nolan while filming The Dark Knight.
"I asked Chris if there was a chance of coming back. 'No way,' he said. 'He's toast.'"
The Dark Knight is still tearing through the theaters and has grossed a massive $505.4 million domestically, so far.

Ra's al Ghul wasn't immortal so much as he had access to something that could revive him (the Lazarus Pits)...We didn't see a body in Begins, so I always figured they did that so that they could always bring him back at some later point if they wanted. I like him as a villain because he was always a thinking man's villain who always made Batman more of the Dark Knight Detective we know him as. Batman is always at his best when he's using his brain to utterly dismantle his enemies, but I always thought the Riddler was a kind of cop-out to that fact. Riddler just isn't going to come up with anything that's going to stump him so the whole shtick always felt a little lame.
Another thing that they could do for a villain in the next film, is use Victor Zsasz. In Batman Begins, they show him escaping from Arkham. He gets away at the end of the film after Batman punches him in the head, and he's not heard from again, obviously, seeing as though he made absolutely no appearance in The Dark Knight.
Another Batman movie will *uckin awesome!! I enjoyed the first two movies and hope I enjoy this one too

That's fake. The script for the third movie hasn't even been written yet. They don't advertise movies until post production.
Wow, for a fake, it sure looks real. I hope if the third movie does have The Riddler, the movie has the same vibe as this poster, 'cause it gives off the same atmosphere from "The Dark Knight".
That's a pretty friggin' awesome poster, fake or not.
Ah crap its FAKE !
that sux , i was getting exited when i saw that
I always thought that Mr. Freeze was a lame character, especially after Batman and Robin. He was never intimidating, nor was he ever a very interesting character. The same thing goes for The Riddler. There are much better enemies then those previously in the films. The Penguin's been done twice, so that can't be interesting. Catwoman has been done three times, one of them in a film not related whatsoever to Batman. The Riddler has been done twice, and both times he's sucked balls. Bane, Freeze, Ivy, and Floronic Man have been done, and they were all completely lame.
The best option for a minor villain would be Zsasz. They already established that character in Batman Begins. As for a major villain, I only pray that it's not one that was previously used.
I was reading these tidbits on various gossip sites yesterday. From an interview with Michael Caine:
Splash Page ‘DARK KNIGHT’ EXCLUSIVE: Michael Caine Says Johnny Depp Is The Riddler, Philip Seymour Hoffman Is The Penguin"I was with [a Warner Bros.] executive and I said, ‘Are we going to make another one?’ They said yeah. I said, ‘How the hell are we going to top Heath? And he says ‘I’ll tell you how you top Heath — Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin.’ I said, ‘S–t, they’ve done it again!’”
But then, hours later, Hoffman denied it, saying:
Splash Page ‘Dark Knight’ Update: Philip Seymour Hoffman Responds To Casting Rumor, ‘I Don’t Know If I’d Be A Good Penguin’“No one has talked to me about it ever — never,” replied Hoffman. “It happened, like, five years ago, too. It was a rumor back then and it’s still a rumor. [laughs] It’s just in the press. It’s funny.”
To further cement this issue, Hoffman added that he’d never met Nolan (”Maybe I did or met him in passing?”), and that his interest in comic book movies is purely on a fan level, and he intended to keep it that way.
“I’m such a fan of those movies,” related Hoffman. “Comic book movies in general I look forward to — I am a real cheerleader for them. I want them to do well because those are terrific stories. As a kid I was a big comic book collector. What [Nolan]’s doing is taking it in a whole other exciting great place. I’m more a fan, so the interest of being in it isn’t that great. It’s more the interest in wanting to see the next one. It’s probably better that way.”
When further pressed for his level of interest if Warner Bros. approached him about the role, Hoffman said, “I don’t know. I think I’m more interested in seeing someone else do it. I don’t know if I’d be a good Penguin to be quite honest. [laughs]”
I read an article about Johnny Depp in the next batman movie, well actually I just read some of it i dont recall if it said what part he would have played but I do think Aaron Eckhart will come back, especially if hes signed on to do 2 movies.
i'll try to find the article and post it here.

so i found this article

I would like to see the Riddler in the next movie, but not inspired by the Frank Gorshin Riddler (Jim Carrey's Riddler was inspired by him). I would want to see the original Riddler, a smooth-talking intellectual who presented challenging riddles, just like in Batman:The Animated Series; that Riddler is awesome, I don't like my Riddler as a jokester Batman already has the Joker, The Riddler challenged Batman to use his brain which I find in the two newest movies, Bruce Wayne is not depicted as the brainiac as he is in all other mediums.
Other villians for Batman I that may be interesting: The Mad Hatter, Mr.Zsasz (a very minor villian but his concept is nice and could be awesome), Cluemaster (similiar to the Riddler but he leaves clues instead of riddles), Calendar Man (another villian that would focus on the brain aspect of Batman, I wouldn't mind seeing him), Anarky (instead of the Penguin, who's focus in corrupt government, Anarky could be a more realistic villian who's focus is government or the lack there of).
I doubt Mr. Freeze would be used for the same reason the director said he wouldn't use The Penguin he wants to create a more realistic Batman universe and if The Penguin would be difficult to do so would Mr. Freeze if not harder, that also goes for Clayface too.
Sidenote: The superhero who really needs more of his villians shown in the movies is Superman. Out of the 5 movies Lex Luthor is the villian in 3. The Kryptonians or whatever they be are in the second film and Richard pryor in the third film(?). He has Brainiac, Darkdside, Bizzaro, Mr. Mxyzptlk, etc. all interesting to use.
