Through some coincidental forces of nature I was planning to watch that movie today.
Of course I already know how it ends, as does everyone, I'm guessing.
But I'll be able to chat along by tomorrow.

I actually saw this movie for the first time last night... and today (I couldn't finish it last night; had to go to bed. It's a long friggen' movie!) It's a pretty good character study. Although none of the characters really are all that likable. Which is probably as it should be; they're all gangsters. My roommate made the comment that she liked Tony "better in the beginning." He is a pretty psychotic character, I'll give her that. Jealous brother, much? Constantly lying to himself to keep his self confidence up?
Furthermore, what the hell did he see in that girl, aside from the fact that she was kinda hot? "I wouldn't be caught dead riding in that car! It needs to be painted with actual gold dust, and the seats must have real tiger skins for covering! And I want to see those tigers skinned myself!" Tony had a point; she never did anything (but look down her nose at other characters and complain.)
I have to say my favorite line is "Go, pelicans, go!" Or whatever it was, ha ha. Also, that's a whole lot of f-bombs! A minute and forty-two second's worth! [NSFW]
So, anybody else see this movie? What did you think? What was your favorite part? Or favorite character? (My favorite was his friend...) Anyhoo...

Crao Porr Cock8: Getting it while the getting's good
I haven't even seen this yet, its one of them movies im not rushed to see because i know exactly what happens from word of mouth, tv and all. Sure just take Eric Cartman for example:
YouTube - scarface
Usual suspects is another that springs to mind for me, haven't seen it but know the whole story really
Now i wouldn't say no to watching them if say over in a friends house
I saw Scarface last night. And I ****ing loved it.
I was expecting a Miami version of The Godfather, but it was nothing like that. The movie was really fast, absolutely realistic (not that The Godfather is not or anything) and there's a lot of psychology and irony in it. For me, it could have been a half hour longer, but it is fine the way it is now.
I love how Tony jokes about
Spoiler: his gun when they go to kill Frank. He says "Hmm. How do you say... Paranoia..." Not realising he's going to be ****ed up and paranoid as hell in the future.
Of course, I already knew the ending, as does everyone I believe. But somehow, that made it even more interesting. The psychological and social decay of a small Cuban 'hitter' becoming exactly what he laughed at initially. Really enjoyed it.
I also loved the dialogue. Really well written. And the famous "Say hello to my little friend" phrase had an even better timing than I hoped it would have.
For some reason, I feel awkward that Cuba is depicted as Hell, which it was, I'm sure. But that makes all the gloryfying of Che Guevara's efforts for a better Cuban life in the 50s seem futile...
It made me wonder: If Che Guevara were still alive, would he like the way his old friend Castro has been running things around there?
I loved the phrase "Do we have to hit The Beard or something?".
Yeah. Great movie.
