Movie Mistakes: Goofs, Bloopers, and Plot Holes

Ever sit down to watch a movie, and during the course of the film, you start to notice that some things don't seem quite right?

I stumbled across a site that actually lists out many (if not all) mistakes and inconsistencies that can be found in quite a few movies. Take a look if you feel like it and see just how many mistakes your favorite movie has! You just may be surprised! However, I hope this site doesn't ruin anything for you, so if you don't want to see your favorite movie picked apart, I suggest not looking it up. Instead, pick some other movie that you're curious about.

Movie mistakes - goofs, bloopers, and plot holes

For me, I looked up the Wizard of Oz. It's a classic and a childhood favorite, so I thought why not? I was surprised to learn that there are 300 mistakes listed on the site! It places second in the "Top 30 Movies with the Most Goofs" list, with Apocalypse Now placing first (390 listed for that particular film). Reading through the list of it's mistakes, this one stood out as being kind of funny:

When the Wizard is getting ready to take off in the balloon, while most people watch Dorothy climb out of the basket and go after Toto, the Tin Man is unravelling the thing holding the hot air balloon down, then he "accidentally" lets go.

this thread makes me smile i could spend hours on that site.
i can't think of an specific example at the moment, but when there is a scene with food involved, i always take a closer look because its easy to have continuity errors (drinks *magically* refilling, etc)

I once read somewhere that in one of the Gladiator shots, you can see come canisters in the back ground, wonder if thats on the site, think I'm goin to be spendin alot of time on there today lol.

@ Dodie, I never knew there was sooo many mistakes in that film, I'm gunna be watching out for them the next time I see it. I also had a quick look at the triva section on The Wizard of Oz, who knew that the horses in the Emerald city were covered in Jell-o crystals.

Yeah, I noticed that there was a trivia section when I went back to look through the site again. That's my addiction right there. I love learning useless stuff that will never be of any value to me. Makes for interesting conversation though.

Nice site, I used to visit a similar one, though, not this good, this one's more detailed and has a bigger base. This should keep me occupied for a while, I'm interested in these sort of things, beside mistakes I also love to check the easter eggs that appear during the movie. I'm also surprised to see that my favorite movie has only few mistakes, or they just didn't find them all, only five mistakes in "The Prestige",

Yep and here it is, in a scene during "The Battle of Carthage" one of the chariots flips over and when the dust settles there is the canister. Haha too funny, I need to watch for more of these mistakes.

I remember seeing on One Tree Hill (not a movie, but a mistake that makes me giggle) when Nathan drove a racecar into a wall, there was actually nothing in the care when he did it, and it was very visible. No dummie or anything. Just. An empty car. And then when his brother, etc. came to his rescue, he was magically back in the car again! =D

Also, on the movie Stand By Me, when the kids are running (cant' remember why, haven't seen it in years) one of the actor's microphones comes dangling out of his trousers as he's running and falls on the floor

Did you mean to say that you watched "28 Weeks Later"? Because Robert Carlyle didn't appear in "28 Days Later". I haven't seen either movie, but I looked up both on the site, and couldn't find which error you mentioned. Maybe you found something that they haven't caught yet?

I love Stand By Me, I've watched it a hundred times, why have I never noticed that before??

I saw a mistake in Friends, Chandler walks out of the kitchen to the bedroom holding a glass orange bowl, but when the screen shot goes back to the kitchen the bowl is on the kitchen table again..... magic!!!
The site has a Friends section but there is way too much to read.

i know Robert Carlyle he wasnt it 28 days later, but it was something when i watched that annoyed it.
it was a main plot thing
    Spoiler:
basically he gets infected in a secure medical room and the only way out is via a keycard or doorcade (same box to use) but it doesn't show that, it justs shows him attacking people
