I saw it, and it was ehh. It had some good parts, and bad parts, like all films. There was some things that certainly could have been improved.
This film has a very low rewatch value for me.
...was pretty much what I was expecting it to be. I just saw it for the first time last night, and-wouldn't you know it? It's a by the numbers, lower end comic book movie a la X-Men Origins: Wolverine, featuring at least a few talented actors; ones whom you've got to wonder how in the hell they ended up here. John Malkovich? Will Arnett? (Gob from Arrested Development. Felt he was wasted potential in particular, here.) Megan Fox is the eye candy. And of course Josh Brolin is Jonah, and he at least is pretty awesome in his roll. Pretty much saves the movie, which is important, seeing as he's the main character. But yeah; I figured Brolin would be growly, kill people unexpectedly. I figured John Malkovich would-zomg, SPOILER!-still be alive, and kinda phone in his delivery as the bad guy, I figured Will Arnett would get one or two lines approaching comedy, and then not get much else opportunity to shine. I expected Megan Fox to be... Megan Fox.
Like I said, it was what I was expecting. Rented it from Redbox, too, so it only cost me a dollar. It was fun and entertaining, and that's all I asked it to be. A friend who watched it with me claimed that he expected more-something "more epic, and not just, 'okay, this is happening now. Okay, it just happened.'" I was like, "You expected more from a movie based on a b-level comic book character? Then you'll probably be disappointed more often than not." Seriously. Don't watch a movie like this and have high expectations for it. Did anyone have high expectations for it? Anyhoo...
