The Lion Man is a New Zealand television documentary series about a New Zealand big cat sanctuary called Zion Wildlife Gardens. The series is named after the Lion Man, Craig Busch, the park's founder and majority shareholder, and follows him and his staff as they manage the park and its collection of approximately 30 lions and tigers of various species, and other animals.
Anyway, no I didn't watch this show. I don't think it's appropriate that this man has such exotic species in New Zealand. It's so far from their natural habitat, and is probably distressing for them.

TVNZ said The Lion Man had a strong following here and overseas and the purchase of the programme was made in response to a perceived demand, despite the associated issues.
Spokeswoman Megan Richards said Busch's convictions and the publicity surrounding his personal life had compromised the enjoyment of the programme for some sections of society.
Another reason is that the Zion Wildlife Gardens were closed after a keeper was mauled to death by a tiger (Zion Wildlife Gardens - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
On the 27th of May 2009 a zookeeper, South African National Dalu Mncube, was mauled to death by a white tiger while cleaning an enclosure. The tiger was shot twice by park staff.
There were also claims regarding animal cruelty and an unsafe working environment and bad practice. They may or may not be true, but really by this stage I wish Busch would give it a rest.
