The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day

... No, really. That's the title. The sequel to everyone's favorite film about two Irish-Catholic brothers sent on a mission from God to take out all of the evil men in Boston is set to release on October 30th, and now IGN has posted the first five minutes of the film on their website.

In the film, the MacManus brothers (Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery) have been in deep hiding in the quiet valleys of Ireland, far removed from their former lives or modern technologies. When word comes that a priest has been killed by sinister forces in the tough underworld of Boston, they return to mount a violent and bloody crusade to bring justice to those who must now suffer the consequences, with a new partner in crime (Clifton Collins) and a sexy FBI operative (Julie Benz) hot on their trail.

Thoughts? Feelings? Concerns?

Personally, I liked the first film, but the sequel has a substantial lack of Willem Dafoe. I don't have any real expectations for this one, so hopefully I won't be disappointed.

I generally go into movies open minded but with this one being the sequal to on of the greatest films in my opinion, I can't help but go into this one with VERY HIGH expectations.

The thing I see in that clip that kind of disappoints me is some of the action almost makes them seem super humanish. If that is how it is really portreyed I am going to be disappointed. The Saints where in no way super human in the first one and actually blundered their way through most of the first part of the movie.

but I will say it has some good potential and I hope they didn't **** it up by making a sequal.

Also I agree that Dafoe should be in this one, he was a huge part in the last one. Maybe we will see an appearance or two from him.

I'm with Meier on this one, with the Boondock Saints being one of my favorite movies ever, I will be having high hopes for this one, and unfortunately I don't see the sequel meeting the bar that the first movie reached.

Although overall, I'm sure the movie won't be bad by any means, but I just don't see it comparing to the first one, so I will have to try my best to not be so judgemental about it.

I need new pants. I've been following the rumors for years now and I cannot wait to see this movie.

On one hand, I really can't expect this movie to be as good as the first. On the other hand, I still get the feeling that it's going to be great. 99% of the original cast is in it, the only bad part is that 1% is Willem Dafoe, and he MADE a lot of that movie.

I think they're saying the new FBI agent is his protege though, so maybe she'll act similarly... dunno though, but I think he'd require too much salary to be in this one.

Anyways, I'll def be in line for this one. The first is one of my favorite movies ever. It's a tradition on St. Patty's day to get bombed and watch it.

I have never seen Boondock Saints. Does it have anything to do with that animated show the Boondocks?
