Wii and PS3 can't connect Online while PC is on...huh?

Just a strange problem I discovered today trying to play some Brawl online. I keep getting error connection messages when I try to connect to Nintendo WFC or the PSN or even test the connection in Wii/PS3 Settings.

I have the feeling it has something to do with my new PS3 because it was working fine before. I set it up to connect wirelessly to the PC so that WMP11 can stream files to it.

Both the PS3 and now the Wii are under my Router's settings as Static IP Addresses. I turn the PC off and it works like a charm like it always has. I called Verizon FIOS Tech support, they told me to unplug the router, wait, and plug it back in. It worked for a while, I could stream stuff, but not without terrible stuttering and lag.

    Help?

    ...wha?

I have no idea what's going on -- I did a connectivity test a few minutes ago for giggles. All of the following devices are wireless.

I'm currently running FFXI on my laptop.
Fired up the PS3 and connected to a videochat with friends.
Fired up the Wii and went into the shop channel, browsed.
Fired up the DS and went into a Tetris DS match with a friend (so it could idle).
Fired up the PSP and went into the web browser.

All five of these devices worked just fine simultaneously with minimal performance reductions.

Specs on your internet situation? Provider, modem and/or router models? Etcetera? I'm prone to believe it's more to do with your modem or your provider in general than it is with your device -- all the same, I would make sure your PS3 and Wii are both up-to-date with the latest firmware.

    Sure:
    Windows XP2
Verizon FIOS Internet (30 MB Download)
D-Link Air Plus Extreme G Wireless Router (Model DI-624)

(PC is plugged in via Ethernet on the standard Network Connection integrated with the motherboard)

I'm assuming there has to be something on the PC and/or router settings. Or even it could be possible since I've had the router for a few years, maybe it's crapped out?

Sorry for the double post, but I do believe I got it. Had to completely restore my router clean. With this I was able to update it to the latest firmware (something it wouldn't let me do before). Everything's working like a charm again... at least for now.

Found the guide on how to restore my router here:

I heard people were having a ton of problems with PS3 online. I used to have them with my old router (Linksys WRT54G). It was a DNS problem where the PC would try to connect to one or the other addresses you are assigned by your ISP, and the PS3 will only try to connect to one (unless you tell it manually to use one) and if your comp is using the first one, the PS3 goes nuts.

Anyway, I haven't had the problem since switching to my new router (Linksys WRT54G-S).

Dunno if this helps you or not, but anyone searching for information on this might come across this thread and be helped one day!

Well if it starts acting up on me again, I'll be sure to check it out since it sounds consistent with the whole "Works fine when PC is turned off." Thanks man!
