    Custom PCs

I've started looking around the net for building a nice PC for myself and so far, I've found www.gamepc.com. The charges for building them seems a bit excessive ($200 American for barebones, no OS system build) though I could possibly get Igor to do it himself, since he used to piece together Sun computers once upon a time. Here is the stuff I chose off of it. Some places, I just put what they are (like the optical drive)

    "Model": Titan CX2/200

CPU: AMD Opteron 1212 (2.0 Ghz)
CPU Cooling: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Motherboard: MSI K9N Neo-F nVidia nForce 500 ATX
Memory: Corsair XMS DDR2-800 2GB EPP Twinpack (2 of these)
Hard Drive 1/2: Seagate Barracuda 7200.9 160 GB 7200 RPM OEM
    Floppy drive/Memory reader: Mitsumi 7-in-1
    Optical Drive: Sony DVD-rom 16X
Video Card: Asus Gforce 7600 GS PCIe 512 MeG
    Case: Chenbro RM12400 ATX 1U w/ 300w PSU
    Power supply: Seasonic S12-HT 550w
    OS: WinXP Home

...a few places, I got the cheapest thing (or nearly so) and I don't even know if what I picked will even work together... I think I'll also get a monitor, maybe a good keyboard, I don't know...

...but all of that put together barebones, I install the OS, is 1,965.00 American dollars. I don't even know if I'm getting a good price...

    What do you think?
I stopped seeking to be sought after. That wasn't being true to myself.

Wow! $2000 for all that? I just got mine off IBuypower with specs far superior to that for about 1500. Of course, shipping could be a factor, but still. My specs that I got were

-Eagletech Dragon Aluminium Gaming Tower Case (Blue)
    -XION SuperNova 600W Power Supply
    -Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6750 (2x 2.66GHz/4MB L2 Cache/1333FSB)
-Extreme-Performance INTEL CPU Cooling Fan System Kit
-eVGA NForce 680i SLI Chipset w/7.1 Sound, Gb LAN, S-ATA Raid, USB 2.0 Dual PCI-E MB
    -2 Gigs of RAM
-NVidia 8800 GTS with 320 MB of RAM
    -200 GB HD
    -Windows XP Home

My only complaint is they must've messed something up with the front ports as the front mic port doesn't seem to work, everything else is GREAT!

Not too bad but you could have had a better proc for all that money, I built my own last spring

Well sorta.. Here's what I got.

AMD 3600+ X2 Dual Core overclocked to 2,5 GHz
    2GB RAM
    ECS Nforce 4 chipset
    Gigabyte 8600GT 512MB mem(?)
    450GB hard drive space
    2 monitors
    Zalman cooling and pre-mod case
XP Pro and Vista Ultimate (Vista not installed because it borked itself)
    **EDIT:10 USB ports, anyone? **

All of this for less than 1000$ in NORWAY! Beat that price
My PC beats computers with retail prices at twice of that from any computer store over here. I can run any game on full but the 8600GT doesn't like high resolutions.

For 2,000 that is crap. With 2,000, you should be able to get at least be able to get a PC equipped a Core 2 Duo E6850, Intel P35 mobo, 2GB Corsair Dominator memory, and a GeForce 8800 GTX GPU.
