The Your Philosophy on Life Thread!

As the title says, this is where you bring your philosophy on life.

    Spoiler:
Most people don't realize how precious life is until they loose a loved one. Make the most of what you have and never say never for anyone but yourself!

If we slow down and smell the coffee and the roses, times will change drastically. But if we keep pace, we will lose touch.

This is a rather broad topic, isn't it? Seems a lot for one thread, but I digress.

Philosophy on "life", eh? Well, to me, from my own experiences, which is really all that anyone can base their opinions off of, life is a state of existence that is characterized by concious thought. The old Descartes quote, I think, therefore I am, applies. I don't know that anyone else around me thinks and therefore, I cannot validate their existence. Some may notice that animals and plants would not be considered alive by my definition, but keep in mind that my definition is only what I know for certain. I don't know that animals and plants are truly alive; all I know is that they are alive by the material world's standards, a world that may not even exist. Of course, I'm not arrogant enough to claim that I am the only thing that exists. The material world may very well exist, I have no way to prove it does or does not as yet, but what I do know is that I am the only being that I can prove to myself exists and is alive (even that is not a definite actually, as artificial intelligence could create various shades of grey on that topic).

I think that's what the topic of this thread was. It's kind of vague.

    Live hard,
    live fast,
    live now.

    Brief and to the point.
I believe in doing things spontaneously, in not being afraid of change or to admit being wrong from time to time. I believe you should respect what others have to say, as even if it sounds whack, there's every chance that regardless of eloquence it could be every bit as valid if not more-so than what you think.

I believe you should be good to everyone you can on principal, unless they've wronged you or a mate and are utterly remorseless. And I believe in pushing limits, even where it can cause problems. How else can one realise their end potential?

    lol, I called him Jinny...

Anyways. People change philosophy like shirts nowadays. It's easier to justify themselves by being a chameleon. They can justify an action with a belief and then when it no longer works, exchange it for the opposite. Not saying that this is bad, merely stating that people are inconstant as a general rule.

Even I have forsaken my beliefs...only to come back to them even more humbled.

I am Taoist, meaning that I strive for rhthym in life, following the simplicity of it's natural tendencies. But Taoism sums up a whole jumble of beliefs. It's so much easier for me to hold up the sign Taoism everytime somebody asks me what I believe. That and I'm too lazy to prove to them that I know what that means. Not to mention that Taoism takes devotion and study to understand and is far far far too hard to explain fully at least for me. I'm better at understanding wisdom than imparting it.

I think the fact that people change philosophies so often just proves how little we actually know about the universe and reality, whatever that is. It's basically for this reason that I'm currently agnostic and have taken the solipsist stance of utter skepticism. Because we don't know anything when it comes down to it. I admire Taoism, to generalize for a moment, but there are certainly contradictions and leaps of faith being taken within it, as with any philosophy, solipsism included, which is why I try not to advocate it as truth, but rather a default stance not to be left too far out of one's mindset in the event that the unprovable (ie everything else) does turn out to be false.

Having a set philosophy is kind of like deciding how you're going to handle a bunch of situations before you actually encounter them.

I just treat others the way I want to be treated. Really, what more need one do?
[Today 2:38 AM] Lord Kaos: Police report on their IPs?
[Today 2:39 AM] Kit Fisto: im going to kill him now.
[Today 2:39 AM] Koloth: I tried to check IPs... but the asshole is probably using proxies
[Today 2:39 AM] Kit Fisto: brb im off to kill them both.
[Today 2:39 AM] Lady Aerith: and I don't have the power to IP ban either...

You really want to know my philosophy on life?

People can do whatever they want as long as they are hurting anyone, and I can make fun of and laugh at them for it.

My philosophy on life... oh my god, you're asking me to share my thoughts on existence with everyone?

I really have NO idea what I meant with that, although here it goes.

My back hurts currently, I'm extremely tired, and I'm at work, so I trully have no idea what I'm typing, and I'm sure my grammar, spelling, and meaning will be skewed within this.

People sit at home and think about how they can impress others, all day long. There are those who dress themselves up in regel robes and shining makeup to show others how much they know, but really, much of themselves get lost in the tangled mess of public infatuation. Hmmn, the robes and makeup were meant to symbolize false philosophical views and fake... ness. Jesus, I'm usually more put together with these things, so forgive me.

The color of your walls and the powdery paint, let's start there. Look at the wall you're next to, right now. You recognize it well, you know it well, I'm sure you're rather use to the color of the walls and the cieling, the carpet. The smell of the stale paint and the air in your house/apartment/living situation. Okay, so you know them well. Now, look at yourself in the mirror. Look at your skin, your hair, your eyes. Look INTO your eyes. Done? Do you recognize that face? I'm sure you do, you look at it at least once a day. Now, do you recognize what's behind that face? Not the person your friends and family know, not the person you've created, but the ACTUAL person behind those eyes, behind that skin? You do, you know them well- although you probably don't ever conciously think about it. They're much different, and none of you will ever admit to who that person is. You will just add more into the personality of the person you want us all to know.

This is going to be difficult because certain people on this board try their very hardest to come off as VERY intellectual with their educated philosophical views and intelligent insights- but you're really only living the life of a faux person. This is how it works with everyone. We, humans, live as one entity as a whole. You live for your parents, be it for them or against them, for the strangers on the street, and for your friends. You are who you are around. We all live lives of strangers, but the one below the skin is who we should be living for.

    Lmfao, I'm so tired.

Okay... uhmm... how many of you trully believe in the crap you shit from your mouths? Omg, forgive me, seriously. It just annoys me sometimes. Very few of you actually believe in that shit, lol. And you can claim as long as you wish with as much heart-felt power behind it, but few if any of you do. It's like... ugh, I don't know. It's sickening.

I want a huge field of sunflowers stretched before me, a swaying sea of nothing but yellow. Maybe the sun is covered with sunflowers, and we only think it's on fire...

Is that impossible? Really. I think it's very possible.

Well, a very long time ago... a little boy stood in the perpetual night, gazing at the second, larger moon. He said to himself "One day I will set that on fire. I will bring light to this world of night." I'm sure he meant it, because that must be where we got our sun.

    WTF?! Omg, sleep. Need, sleep.

Live life, don't think about it. Live for the small things, recognize them and worship them. Lady bugs, cockroaches, flower petals, rain drops, pixels and custom made dinner plates.

Eat the food you've never had and sit with people you normally wouldn't.

Don't be an asshole, don't be hated. Work to be loved, and love as much as you can.

    Give and recieve love.

Laugh often, laugh at anything and everything. Be your own biggest fan.

    **** them and be you.

    ._.
The heart is nature's metronome, it counts seconds into miliseconds and even smaller. It beats with time, perpetually; how such a calculating organ became the symbol of love is a mystery to me.
