Well I probably known for dividing myself into too many pieces. Or not, either way I am still working on getting the other RP up to the point where we can start writing for it. I would like to have something for everyone to participate in. I will be in both of them, because I'm like that. I'm getting myself into a more rigid schedule recently, so I am allotting an amount of time to write every day or work on writing projects. As well as allotting time for my other projects that are not writing.

So I should be able to manage to write in two RPs. If I can't I have a problem. I did in the past. Anyway, nothing saying the club can't have two RPs going at once. I just have to finish this week's episode I'm writing right now. Once that is complete the next things on the agenda is finally completing the background information for the RP.

That aside, there is the internal RP. The one for the royalty that we made up to play around in. I did a couple short posts for it a while back. I thought that Shadow was going to do something with it. Either way, that is there as well.

I haven't been at home since Thursday and my girlfriend's on an internet strike because she feels she's too addicted to teh intarwebz. So, it's safe to deduce that:

Having said this, there's a perfectly legitimate reason I haven't been online.

...as for writing, I've tried everything I can think of and everything anyone else has suggested to get out of this block, but I'm just stuck in a spot at the moment. It's to the point where it takes me four hours just to script up a single four-panel comic. THAT'S RIDICULOUS. Entire paragraphs for a roleplay? It's just not possible right now. I've got to get out of this dead zone, first.

Well I'm not even talking about you writing in the RP. I'm just speaking on the club at the moment. Which I doubt you were at your girlfriend's place for the last a month. Anyway, that aside half of the members have shown up. Though we are still missing three or four of them. Two of which are needed to posted in the RP as well as here. I think I will be sending them a PM to see if something became of them.

Yeah, it was. As far as I know Fuzz took it down to fix something. What he wanted to fix, and whether it actually was fixed, I can't say for sure. All my information is secondhand from Jay.

At this point I don't mind what you post. Its better if is club related, but seeing the member's shiny avy faces is enough for me right now. I've stopped aiming for the moon at this point, I'll be happy with a mole hill. It'd be better to be making mountains out of mole hills though. *cough*

Anyway, I fell asleep last night at like 8pm, so I did zero on anything. Means I still need to finish my episode before I can start working on the RP. Though it is going to be a couple days at least before I have something completed enough to drop down here. But when I do, I would like to have some feedback. Since I have not actually received anything so far that I can use towards the RP I'm making it all up myself at this moment.

All I'm looking at right now is pretty much making the world. I am not even thinking about a story or plot at this point. I'm more inclind to lay it out and just have people start posting and deciding where they want to go with the story on the fly. It's how it done in the old days, so it'll work for us. I'll lay out a handful of races and locations in the world, maybe a bit of history, but nothing too detailed. We'll make up the history as we go along.

So keep that mind, you are all making the plot. I don't have ownership over it. If you want do something and make a plot twist, you can. It is the way it should be, there is be nothing planned more than a couple posts ahead that can't be altered to fit the changes.

That is the direction that I am leaning towards. If you want to have an inital plot laid out, I guess I make one up.

And I thought I had nothing to say either.

Continuing on, I finished my episode last night. So I am going to be working on getting the RP together at this point now. The only thing that is standing in my way at this point is Suikoden. I'll see how much I can resist that urge.

I swear I am so sick of my job its insane. All week I haven't had time to even do my homework.. let alone anything else. I completely cut out all game time and STILL can't get jack accomplished outside work and classes. I didn't forget about writing.. I have it half-done in fact. I just can't finish it for another few days b/c I have a PHP project, a 50 min speech to prepare, 3 reports, 1 test, and I forgot the rest. WTF. I am so ready for this semester to be over.

I understand how that can be. I'm dreading and looking for toward the time that I go into crunch at work. 80 hour weeks not fun and means that I am doing nothing but working. However, its a good paycheck. And that is about it.

But I am just glad to see a post from you. The RP is not going anywhere. So if it takes you a while longer to have the time to finish your post then it is no problem.

I got around to editing my post, finally. This semester's been pretty busy. I had to deal with transfer apps and keeping up grades. Physics is not looking good.

Anyway, finals are next week but that means much lower work load. I should be able to get in a new post sometime soon.

I'm glad to finally hear something from you Lai. I was beginning worry that you completely disappeared. I will have to go check out the edits then and see what you have added. I remember you saying that you had only put up half of it at the time. If you had wanted to you could have posted a second time instead if you were just continuing.

Hahaha I was browsing the old threads when I came up to the old TFF Royalty. I missed the good old days of RPing and I've had so many good times here. I usually fall off the internet but this was one place I called family.

How many times have I left TFF? haha. Anyways I'm trying to stay active. Big shift in my life and I've found myself with alot more time.

Anyways I'd like to rejoin. I had a blast RPing with alot of people and I notice theres not as many dedicated posters from back in the day but thats what time brings haha.

So do I need to take a test or something? I'd like to be reinstated yo!

Hey, Kyle. It has been a long time hasn't it. I was a club newbie back when you were in the club. I have no problem with just immediately reinstating you into the club. You were a member in the past, so I see no reason to put you through the recruitment process.

And yes, the posting activity of the RPs is demenished quite a lot since the good old days. Not a lot I can do about it other than nag and poke people a lot. I've tried to maintain the club that we all loved, though there have been changes. ID left a long time ago and never returned since, but its only be like two years I think. Which is moderate absence for him, all things consider. But either way, I took of leadership, in his absence and eventually restarted the club anew and fresh.

Zell is about the only other old member, but he has been absent for a long time. I'm not sure if you saw how the RP you were in ended, but it is the Clief of Dimension, if you want read it.

We currently have one RP going, and I am working on getting another together. Suikoden is getting in the way of those efforts (Suikoden II to be exact). You are open to join the current running RP or wait until I get the new one started up. There is also an internal RP that I made, that is simply to create activity in the club and provide a reason to post when you don't have a reason to post. It is just something simple and lighthearted, nothing too serious.

I'm also in the process of going through the recruitment steps with Aerif. She is in finals at the moment, if I recall, so the final decision on whether or not she is going to be a club member may be delayed.

That aside, to address the other members. I'm glad to see some activity in the RP again. Shadow, Atma and myself have posted. I hope to see more of that posting. I am still waiting to hear what is going on with cetra, but she is currently holding anyone back from posting. Continue to post and when ever you can join us Merlin, I know you have a lot of things happening at the moment. We'll see what becomes of the RP, I did start triggering an event. It should provide some material.

Glad to be back! I'll try and catch up with the RP. My work allows me unlimited time on the net as long as I have no students in need of tutoring (and who really comes to school on saturdays?) so I'll use tomorrow to catch up. x3

I really miss freestyle roleplaying. I'm involved on another forum but usually members post like, you make an action and the GM tells you your options. Its just as fun but I loved the idea of freestyle better. LOL

Yeah, RPs here have evolved somewhat. Though I'm not sure if you want to call it that. Let's just say that they have changed somewhat. They take a lot more planning these days and the author of the RP ends up having a lot of creative control. At least that is what I am seeing and getting impressions from. But I'm trying to pull that out.

Freestyle is the way I like it as well. Just work impromptu and on the fly with whatever you are feeling at the moment. It does tend to mean that there is no end or a very, very long story. But at least everyone is working together on it.

Just let me know what you decide, if you want to join the current RP or wait for the next one. The next one will be a fantasy RP, unlike the current one that is more science fiction than fantasy.

Oh I was wondering about something that happened in the RP... Atma-Noah referenced Jay's RL character in his post as someone his char should contact. Doesn't that seem a bit odd, since Jay's char is a CSI-type person on a separate planet? I'm not sure where that particular line is headed, it just seemed peculiar when I read it. Of course, I was reading it before a class, so I might have misunderstood something.

Anywho, off to bed and then I can convert my brain energy into 0s and 1s...

Yes, they are on two different planets completely. And it is probably odd, Shadow's character would have be some sort of friend or universially known detective for someone on another planet to know about them. Or maybe previous encounter. No idea. Communication between the two is fine though, an answering machine seems a little antiquated, but you aren't always around so something has to catch the message.

More interested in furthering posting rather than minor oddities. It is up to the two of them to decide how they want to handle it further.

Oh and Jay, that statement just makes it even more out of place. Are you to P.I. as James Bond is to Secret Agent? I guess your char is more like oldschool chars, like Sherlock Holmes, than actual P.I.'s in the world today. Or maybe like Jack Bauer. Every time you try to do surveillance your cover is blown and you end up in a firefight... haha. I mean, how can you do undercover work if everybody knows what you look like?

Oh well. Its just a story after all. I just have a habit of analyzing things. XD

Yeah, Divided Connections is the current running RP that we have. If you go to the first page of the club, you'll find the list of everything that goes with the RP. It has all of the information that you might want. It also have a small amount for the other RP that I am working on as well, if I remember right. Keep in mind that it is long though.

Today at work I was thinking about the next rp that's in the making and I thought this up. As far as I know the Royalty in the rps have been well royalty when the name was affliated with the characters. I thought that maybe this time instead of us all being of royal blood or high class that instead the Royalty could be a troupe of somesort. A group of performers that travel around in a caravan or something? Of course adventuring is part of their lives but they also go around singing/dancing/storytelling etc.

Reading that now it seems real rough around the edges but I thought it would be a neat to do instead of the Royalty always being royalty ya know?

I'll see about that. I probably won't use it for this up coming RP. But there is nothing stopping people from making their character part of some troupe. However, a lot of the world is already set up in my mind. I'm trying to avoided creating a plot. All I am putting down is a very simple basic direction, which is more of a concept back when it was just a sentence.

I don't know, Atma if you have read the material relating to it or not. But the coming RP is going to revolve around the idea of what happens in a fantasy world when they discover magic suddenly. That is very basics, it will probably deal with evolution, magic theory, and whatever else you want to play around with. Its not going to have much of a boundary. In a way it is going to be X-Men, mutants and all. Though I was not thinking about that when I originally came up with the idea, I think Merlin said or someone did. The original idea was that I wanted to have a pregant character, why I don't know. I just thought it would be an interesting character to roleplay. So I built up an idea around that.

Anyway, that will be what the future RP is going to be about. But the more pressing matter is the current RP that we have going. You've posted, but you can't stop posting. We got the 3 of us and Lai when she can get back into the swing of things. And then Merlin when he is free. I know Loco still got the writer's block. At least that is the last thing that I heard. So it might just be the 5 of us for a while with the current RP. So lets try not to let it sit around like it did. I'm working to be more pro-active.

I'm definitely making sure I posted in the club every single time I legally can and then a few times more. Anyway, there is more than enough places for activity.

Writing for the RP is getting kind of difficult for me. I don't know what to do.
Besides the obvious events I have to respond to; what about afterwards or in between?

What kind of help do you need? I did create a mystery/crime/horror RP, plus I'm an avid watcher of CSI: OS..etc, Law & Order: OS.. etc, Criminal Minds, and of course 24... so I know like shitloads of stuff to make those types of plots.

Anywho, I'm writing atm. I won't bother listing excuses, b/c frankly my life has been in a shithole the past few months and I don't feel like starting a rant post... XD The only thing good that's happened is my brainstorming never seems to end. Unfortunately, it never ends up being wrote down. Its scary how many re-writes I can do to something in a given week... just in my head.

You can work with another crime to solve. Maybe make it a little harder to solve this time or follow it through. That way you have more than one post worth of material. Because the first one you had was only a post, and seems like you ended it there. I don't know, you might have more planned to do with it.

Also since I introduced a new element you can play around with that. It is no doubt going to be big news on the game. So you can explore that angle and play with things unfolding on the game. It is still pretty early at the moment, so I do not know if you would want to jump the gun too much, like accusation and such, but there is plenty of play.

And even that aside. You have a few pieces to work with at the moment. Just draw them out a little and have fun with them. Explore the couple lines you have right now and introduce a little more. Just don't write yourself into a corner where you are cutting yourself down into one post. Leave yourself some more so that you want to come back and write the next one.

Or if that doesn't make any sense... never have a post that is "complete". If you leave your post at a hanging-point, it forces you to write more. Not only that, it makes the reader wonder what's going to happen next. Think of all the anime you watch... esp stuff like Bleach or Naruto. How often does an episode end with a storyline complete? It leaves you hanging every damn time, making you wait till next week to see what happens next. Then what? The same thing. You're left waiting for more. Its good for both sides. Well, its annoying for the readers who love to read huge chunks at one time and not wait around for the next part.. but uh.. whatev.

If you want something more challenging, tie the end of your post to the beginning, but still leave it hanging. I often do that to add a bit of symmetry to something, but still force ppl to 'stay tuned' for more. You'll see an example when I post up my stuff later today.

Anywho, if you want actual plot ideas or something, I can post some of those too. I might fart around posting, but I'm a knowledge-bank of ideas. O.o
