Well I jsut get my Wii info on Wii.com. It has mostly everything that I would want to know. I'm not too sure about the cost of the Wii though. I beleive it will be ranging from 200-300 dollars. I don't think it'll go past that.
And about the controller, I think it will quite good actually. When I first heard about the Wii controller being a remote i though instantly WTH? Has Satoru Iwata lost it? but then I got a little more info on it but still though it was bull. Then I finally saw what it looked like and actually saw in use and it looks pretty good. But I think your right

Yeah. But who knows? Maybe it will be fine, we just can't know until we get it.

True Omega, we don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm hoping that since Nintendo has got it right in the past, and know what they're doing, that this'll be a good move. Until I play it I'll stand neutral on this, but a remote being a controller is definitely unique and different. Who knows, it could be the best controller out there.

Sure lionheart. Consider yourself in. I too am way excited about Twilight Princess. My biggest dilemma is do I pick up Twilight princess, Final Fantasy for the DS or the new Zelda game for the DS first? They all seem to come out at about the same time so I am going to have to save my shekels.

Also lets try not to spam this thread up with stuff about how other people suck (unless you are talking about Microsoft or Sony ) There is a new neat little invention called the PM it's way more private and the rest of us don't have to spend our morning reading your argument.

    Thanx

Still this is a Nintendo thread so has anyone else seen this article?

Nevertheless, IGN also discredits the Novemeber 2 date in the same story by also stating that some contacts have suggested a November 12 Wii launch date. IGN's purported sources have been left unnamed.

The same article also states that the Wii will be available in two different colors, black and white, that the very same unnamed sources have suggested a $229 price tag, and that Nintendo has bumped production of units up to 5 million by the end of the year due to the positive reaction from gaming press and E3 industry analysts.
I think it would be awesome to get the Wii for $229 I would feel good about having a next generation console that I did not have to take out a loan to pick up!

I don't mind if you join. Just stay away from spamming. And as a Noobie I expect you to come back and post at least a couple of times in your first month or I will delete you from the list. It's not that I don't like n00b's it's just that a lot of them leave after their first day or two.

I also finished the nintendo gang sig. I hope it's okay. I tried to leave everyone in the sig so it's a bit wider than some of the others.

    http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...ganglogo-1.jpg

Also if everyone could post or PM me their favorite Nintendo game (if you post it please add why it's your favorite) I would like to add that info to the list of members so that we get an idea of what games people are interested in.

I already added my favorite which is the legend of Zelda _ I love those darn games I have beaten everyone of them and think that they are the best games out their. I really like how the fighting takes place in real-time I like collecting new weapons and solving dungeons. I also am a fan of all the innovative ideas that are added to each new game.

    Thanx max.

Secondly, can I join? I am Nintendo through and through. For a little while, I tried the Playstation and the X-Box, but when I went back to Nintendo with the Nintendo 64 and the Game Cube, I realized that there's a certain magic with Nintendo games that I don't find in those other consoles. A certain kind of imagination, or something. Nintendo just knows how to please me, I guess.

Maybe you were just kidding but kyle meant. Thats true, Omega OwA.

If the wii only costs 250 or lower than im in. That is a fantastic price, i think the wii will do very good. Sony and Microsoft made good systems but may have gotten ahead of themselves with all thier fancy mumbo jumbo. Since i already have a 360 and the FFs are now coming out on it, im not going to waist a good 800 bucks when the PS3 comes out buying all the games and controllers and such when i can spend about 400 on the wii.

    Hey how about this story
    Quote Originally Posted by gamepro
EA says Wii to be $170? Source: A teaser story on GamesIndustry.biz promoting an exclusive interview with David Gardner, executive vice president and COO of Electronic Arts' Worldwide Studios.

What we heard: This morning, industry trade site GamesIndustry.biz ran a story with the headline, "Wii will retail for around $170 - EA." According to the story, Gardner said the world's largest third-party publisher believes that Nintendo's console will arrive in North American shelves sporting a price tag of $170.

Combined with reports out of Japan last week that the console would launch for about $170 over there, the EA news could be taken as further evidence that Nintendo had settled on a price point for its next console. Having two such sources coming out with the same figure mere weeks before Nintendo is expected to make its official announcement would lend credibility to the idea that the Wii would hit shelves for less than half the price of a premium Xbox 360, and less than a third the price of the high-end PlayStation 3 package.

However, a few things didn't quite fit. The GamesIndustry.biz article says that EA is expecting a $170 price tag in North America. But the only quote it gives to back that up has Gardner saying "I've heard in Japan that the price is about $170…" There might be some context missing there, or perhaps it was taken to mean that Gardner heard while he was in Japan that the North American price would be $170. Regardless, it isn't clear where the $170 figure for North America came from.

On top of that, Gardner doesn't say from where he heard the information. It could be Nintendo, or analysts' expectations, retail partners, or ranting derelicts on the street corner.

Put those ambiguities together and it's entirely possible that Gardner was not referencing information he heard as a result of his position within EA, but instead referencing the original Japanese reports that had the Internet buzzing last week.

The official story: A quick e-mail to Gardner confirmed suspicions. "It was indeed the Japanese report," Gardner told GameSpot. "I read it on the Web--just passing the same rumor around… In any case I hope it becomes true!"

Bogus or not bogus?: The price might be not bogus, but EA saying it'll be $170 is definitely bogus.
A Wii for 170$ that seems crazy to me.

i also work at gamestop - which is great, cause i get to see first hand how ****ing badly the PSP is getting its ass kicked by the Nintendo DS. Domestically gamestop sells 20 DS's for every 1 PSP. How ****ing warm and squishy does that make you feel inside???

i guess the only question is...

    What are Wii waiting for?!

An interview with Reggie "The President" Fils-Aime has revealed that there will be no Xbox Live-like subscription fee for Wii online gaming. Similar to the DS and its Wi-Fi service, gamers can log on with the Wii out of the box at no cost. He also boasted about the Wii's abilities compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360, and commented that Nintendo is "so far in advance of our handheld competitors that they're not even on the map."

In an interview with USA Today, Chief Operating Officer and President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed that Internet play for Wii games will be free, at least from Nintendo. He sees online gaming as a driver of system/game sales and an enhancement to the gaming experience, not the means to an end with a subscription fee.

"What I can tell you is the way we've approached online play now is really with a view to the masses," said Fils-Aime. "With Nintendo DS (a dual-screen handheld player), for example, we offer free Internet play in a wide-ranging series of games. Our focus is getting as many consumers to enjoy that online experience as possible. And we've done that."

"We will offer online-enabled games that the consumers will not have to pay a subscription fee for. They'll be able to enjoy that right out of the box," he continued. "The Wii console is going to be Wi-Fi enabled, so essentially, you'll be able to plug it in and go. It won't have hidden fees or costs."

Fils-Aime also commented about "expanding the market" with the Wii, repeating the company line. He also talked about how the competition (Sony and Microsoft) are essentially trying to grab the same market share and that Nintendo was taking a different approach. Fils-Aime once again brought up the example of the DS as a way that Nintendo's philosophy not only expands the market, but brings in core gamers as well.

"Our visuals for Wii will look fantastic, but in the end, prettier pictures will not bring new gamers and casual gamers into this industry," commented Fils-Aime. "It has to be about the ability to pick up a controller, not be intimidated, and have fun immediately. The trick is being able to do that, not only with the new casual gamer, but do it in a way that the core gamer gets excited as well."

"Our competitors are both going down the same path. Both believe that more and more performance with a higher and higher price tag are their keys to success. So what do I see? I think our two competitors will trade share between them, while we go off and grab share in a completely different way," he concluded.
It seems that Nintendo is not going to charge for on-line play. That is awsome! I get so sick of paying for every little thing I want to do after I buy a console. Go NINTENDO!

I bet they'll be a one off thing, like having to buy an adapter, like most people have to do for the DS, but after that nothing.
I wouldn't bother with online gaming if I had to pay monthly, because sometimes I can sit through 20 or so Mk games in one go and sometimes I don't feel like going online for a while. And I'd get pissed if I was paying but not doing anything.

i would not be surprised at all if the Wii debuted with a $170 price tag. they've already said the it will be under $250 - and nintendo has guaranteed that they will deliver 'the most fun for your dollar'. they canned HD and high def DVD technology in favor of making the system cheaper to produce. the processing/graphical power of the system doesn't even come close to the XBOX360 or PS3. what does it all mean?? it means that nintendo is poised to make the greatest industry comeback since apple released the original iMac and changed the computing world forever.

sony is making tons of mistakes - the DS is kicking the shit out of the lame ass PSP, the XBOX360 is running out of rope with nothing but lack luster PC titles being ported to it (still no word from mistwalker) - and the PS3 is outrageously over priced, and lacking anything to distinguish it from the PS2 besides purty graphix. the revolution is going to hit, and when it does it's going to hit HARD.

So far, we know that Mario, Pikachu, Link, Kirby, Meta Knight, Pit, Samus, Wario, and Snake are going to be in it. It has also been said somewhere that all the characters that were in the original Smash Bros. for the N64 will be in it, as well, so that should include Fox, Luigi, Cap'n Falcon, Ness, Jigglypuff, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong. Other than those, nothing is certain, although there is was a poll for Japanese fans to determine the most popular choices for characters, stages, music and etc. Although the most popular candidates are not necessarily going to be chosen, I've read that two of the most popular characters are Ganondorf (or was it some other, newer villain, as Ganondorf was already in the last one?) and Krystal from Star Fox (the fact that she's popular makes me happy ). Anyhoo...

Hopefully I will have money for the Wii. Although I might spend it on Twilight Princess for the Game Cube instead. La la la...

you bring up an interesting point - the legend of zelda twilight princess is coming out for both gamecube and Wii - which one will you play, or if you intend to play both which one will you play first??

after long consideration, i've decided i have to play the Wii version first - so i can experience a new story and new gameplay through the latest nintendo console. then i'll go back and play it on the GCN - so i can line up the spines for the 4-game collector's disc, the master quest disc, windwaker, and twilight princess. god - in the fading twilight the GameCube is looking more and more legendary....

I had not thought of this. Are there different versions for both the Gamecube and the Wii or is it the same version that plays differently on both systems? I mean do I have to buy the game for both the Wii and the Gamecube?

  26. #86
I'm saving up for both the nintendo Wii and Twilight Princees although the Wiii is going to have bettterb graphics then the gamecube, I think I'm going to buy the Twilight Pincess on the Nintendo Gamecube complete it and then buy the Twilight Princess on the Wii.
so that I can compare the game play system and graphics if you know what I mean.

they are the same game - except the Wii version will probably have a little bit more in it. i'm not sure if the dungeons will be different in the two versions either - but i'm sure the controls will make the games feel very separate from each other.

I mean do I have to buy the game for both the Wii and the Gamecube?
that all depends on your level of nintendo-philia i guess. as a hardcore zelda fan i cannot possibly play one without rocking the other...

    I'll end up getting both.

It depends on if I have enough money for the wii as soon as it comes out which one I get first. If I'm loaded it's TP for the wii, if not the GC will have to do

Ah, it's sad but I'll have that going on too.

I'm pretty sure that the only difference between the Game Cube version and the Wii version is that you can use the Wii controller specifically for certain scenarios that you can't in the Game Cube version, like aiming arrows and fishing. Or something like that. Someone said it all in the Twilight Princess thread in General Gaming, anyway. If what they said is truly the case, then I will probably not wait for the Wii version, and just get the Game Cube version (It'll be cheaper too, won't it? Because Wii games will be more expensive than Game Cube games, I've heard.)
