I understand that the had their reasons but it was that decision that made a number of the game producers and game players jump to Sony. That seems to have carried over into the gamecube generation, people were just use to buying the PSX and liked their games so many stuck to it.
I prefer those cartridges, as loads of my old PS games don't work, they freeze after a few minor scratches, but apart from needing a few blows all my N64 games still work.

Well LOZ is my favourite game series, with most of it's games rating in my top 10 and 20, I love the Metroid series (duh) and am still suprised they never took off in Japan, I still rate Pokemon quite highly.
And Mario games like 64 and Sunshine I love, I still like 2-d ones, but they're just too easy nowadays.
And Tetris, you know the creator only chose Nintendo over Sony but they were not bothered about profits, and treated him better than Sony did.
