I will help in any way to get this letter done and sent so let me know what I can do. However in Nintendo news check out this site.

    http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/index.html

It's got all of the news on the Wii version of Super Smash brothers that you could want. It is going to be great. Check out the pictures of Samurai Goro and those Nintendogs, not to mention hammer bros. etc. It looks pretty great. I am way excited about it. Yeah Nintendo

I say this because more than half of the wii games (even some of the best titles) are half-baked in every department. An example would be LoZ Twilight Princess, with the controls you had to wiggle the Wii-mote to mimic the action of swinging a sword and I found it very disappointing that it actually worked worse to swing the wii-mote (like the actual action) than to wiggle it like an idiot. I found many of the wii controls to be more of a nuisance than a real atraction, which is also dissappointing because the controls are all the wii has to exploit (the thing has the graphical capabilities of a Gamecube). Not only were the Wii controls porly devised, but the dam sensor bar is soooooo picky about where you stand, you always have to be "goldilocks distance" from the tv. Really I wish I could go back in time and get something else because this stupid system was so hard to work with, the only really good game for it was Warioware Smooth Moves and it only lasted about 3 hours (yes, I still only own 2 wii games, and yes I still havn't beat "the amazing game of the year" LoZ Twilight Princess).
Get over it? For one, this is not a thread on the Wii, thusly, you shouldn't come in here flaming the club over your lack of enthusiasm. Secondly, you are one of the only people in the world not happy with your Wii, nobody cares.

Anyways, I have come back from the dead to report that Etrian Oddyssey and Hoshigami: Running Blue Earth Remix were... decent. I have played worse, and they are good enough to steal a few minutes outa my life at a time, so, eh. Anyways, still waiting for Luminous Arc, hopefully it won't disappoint me, also thinking about trying to relive my nostalgia by getting some pokemon action going, lol.

Is it really that I am the only person who doesn't like my Wii or is it that all the people who don't like their Wiis are afraid to speak up because of the fact that everyone would verbally attack them for expressing difference in opinion? I am just a little annoyed that when I write a post using specific examples and actual content, I first get back a post that sounds like it was written by a drunkard and then I get an ignorant person with a "no its not" type of answer. I wouldn't be so annoyed if you had actually given examples of why I was wrong for disliking the Wii (I would have actually liked it). In fact the only person I have seen with this type of attitude was Maxpower because he is open-minded and is willing to debate (not argue).

Tis true that we should allow people to have a different opinion on things (even Nintendo). As such I will offer a different opinion on your two main points.

The first concerns the Wii. It is impossible to tell someone that they have to think a certain way. In fact in some ways I understand your position on the Wii. However I would have to suggest that it will take a long time for the Wii to reach its full potential. Currently the Wii is unlike anything else on the market, and this is scaring some game producers. It is going to take quite a while for game producers to gain an understanding of how the controls are best used and what people respond to. Also many are going to want to feel the assurance that their investment will make the returns that they are hoping for. Unlike traditional platform upgrades (which are mostly visual) the Wii has redefined how people interact with each game. It is far easier to make a game look better, then to change the controller scheme. Game makers are less likely to fail at creating a more visually appealing game then they are at totally redefining how a player connects to each game. Games will continue to improve as producers learn more about what players expect and discover there is money to be made. In short I think it would be reasonable to suggest that the Wii needs to be given a chance it is only a little over six months old and still developing.

The second would be that I would suggest that it is not surprising that many of the members on this site were not excited to see a posting suggesting that the Wii is a bad purchasing decision. This is the "Nintendo Worshippers" club. It is kinda like going to a Christian web-site and stating that you are an atheist. I am a supporter of differing opinions and don't want people to stop posting their honest opinions on this site but don't be too surprised when people vigorously disagree to negative opinions concerning Nintendo.

Still I do appreciate your opinion and hope that down the road Nintendo will be able to change your opinion concerning the Wii. Please keep us posted. Go Nintendo!

Eh, I was merely stating that, his decision to post in Nintendo Worshippers was not where the topic should have been made. On the other hand, I was getting ready to go to bed, and perhaps I sounded like a drunkard, and, Maxpower definitely said what I should have, this is the first year for a console, versus the 360 which is the second, there are gonna be some major differences in library and selection.

Also, note that what maxpower said:

The Wii is a completely different console than what producers are used to, the best games, are gonna be from Nintendo, for a while. Give it another year or so, and we'll see far more usage of the Wiimote and more innovative gameplay. Personally, I wanna get my hands on RE4: Wii Edition ^^

Lastly, I would like to apologise for my rude attitude, but, if you wanted to make a "I hate Wii" topic, it should have been brought up in General Gaming, not in a Nintendo fanclub. I am all for difference in opinion, but, flaming a console made by Nintendo in a "Nintendo Worshippers" is kinda, more bluntly than max, like saying the Devil PWNS God to a Christian, gonna start something, and it wasn't a real smart move.

Also, I would like to report I went to Gamestop this afternoon, and they had no used copies of Diamond OR Pearl, kinda disappointed, gonna keep my eye out, Keep all the Nintendo goodness going Peoples!

I didn't mean you sounded like a drunkard, I got a reply earlier that was nearly incomprehensible. And really I wasn't Wii-bashing earlier, it's just that millions of people everywhere love there wii and I'm not a big fan. So I posted my opinion hoping that someone would tell me I was wrong (which happned), but then give me REASONS AND EXAMPLES of why the wii is the best console (this seems like a good place to me, I mean you "worship" nintendo). Instead I get an incomprehensible answer and then I get you answer just telling me just to get over it. That was why I was so mad, I am sorry if I insulted you in any way.

On Hannya's opinion, i'll just say that yes i can see your point. The sensor bar isn't what i also thought it would be like seeing as how wiggling gets the job done. But while playing wii sports, am i the only one who actually holds his Wii-mote like he should? I just think that holding the remote like in real life makes it that much more fun...that being said maybe thats why you haven't appreciated Zelda: TP.

Sure the game hasn't given much considering the wait us nintendo-ers had gone through, but all i'm saying...(supporting Maxpower and Kaiser Dragoon in fact..) is that this is the beginning of Wii and that judging it and turning it aside isn't the best idea. I do agree that games sound like they were way too user friendly such as Zelda TP and Super Paper Mario but they were still great games! I do see where you are coming from Hannya, and i respect your opinion...but before killing a chicken, make sure she has given you all the egss she can...i mean....don't judge it prematurely...there are certainly great things to come with Wii...

Also the sensor bar problem is worse for me because my tv is 9' diagonally. That means I have to stand close just to see the picture.

And I've got the all the Starters on Pokemon Diamond. But I don't have Uxi because I beat him because I must see the 150 Pokemon on Sinnoh for the National Dex to catch the other Pokemon's of Kanto, Johto and Hoenn Pokemon because I'am not so much the Rare Pokemon Hunter. But later I will Trade with the other Fossil Pokemon with that Rare Pokemons.

So I am way excited about the upcoming metroid game for the Wii. I have not seen a lot on this game and was wondering if anyone had any information on what it is going to be like. I think it is interesting that Nintendo did not market this game more vigorously. It seems like a big game like this would have been every where long before this? I hope that it is going to be great.

I did check your first post and see that there is a 150 post min., but I'd like to join.
    A) Am a massive Nintendo fan, B) check my other posts, you will not find any one liners or pointless spam, C) Other threads refering to nintendo matters seem to be dead such as the SSBB thread, which is one of my main wii based interests at the moment aswell as Metroid Corruption, which looks fantstic at the moment and every preview so far says it's done a brilliant job and could possibley be one of the best FPS's so far.

As for advertising the game well I think they will. In Britain Nintendo sponsers C4 comedy, and I see adverts for both the wii and the DS on ITV. Not just for games that have just come out but for games that have been out ages, like Harvest Moon.

What I actually want to post about, has anyone checked out the SSBB site today?
They've uploaded a new sweet as video, more information on the single player mode. Check out the cameos by ROB and I really hope they make Petey Pirhana a playable character.

La la la. My apologies for my multi-month absence. I exist still, I swear.

Looking through the posts on this page and the last page, I have to say... what the hell? Who is this Hannya person, and why is he posting in a club of which he is not a member of? That's often grounds for a warning in the Club Forums, or at least a verbal "don't post here anymore." Usually, I suppose, the person has to say something of inflammatory nature about the club itself... which is kind of the case, here. If you want to talk about your dislikes over the Wii, you start a thread about it in general gaming. You don't go into the Nintendo club and complain about it there. That could be considered trollish behavior (although I don't think it's the same as simply telling a Christian you're an Atheist. Most Christians will not explode when confronted by an atheist, I promise.) Maybe maxpower didn't consider it as too great of an offense, or something. If you did, however, I would suggest reporting any more such incidents to one of the moderators. Clubs generally are reserved for club members (unless you considered Hannya a "guest," I suppose...) Your club, not mine.

Anyhoo, I still want a Wii. Some day, I will find one and purchase it. I don't know if I can purchase it right when I see it, however; we'll see if I have the money. I really want to play Smash Bros. Brawl, however. I've been watching the latest videos they have on the site for that game, and the adventure mode looks interesting, to say the least. I also want to play Twilight Princess (although maybe I should just get it for the Game Cube...)

Right now, I'm kind of playing Kingdom Hearts II, although It's been a week since I played it, I think, and I've only just gotten to Hollow Bastion. I dunno why, but it hasn't been of interest to me. Anyhoo...

I hope that no one is upset about this but I am going to let Raines in our club. We need some new blood in here and with the turn around that this forum takes when school starts it is time to look at letting some younger posters in. I know that I passed the reigns of this club to other people and will change this decision if they tel me too. But for now I say welcome to our buddy Raines!

Let us know what your favorite Nintendo games are and a little about who you are. And welcome to the club.

Also I want to welcome taco back! I was wondering where you were.

    Ok, favourite Nintendo games.

    1) One of the more obvious choices. Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.
Not just because of the reasons most people give but they still count, it is definately one of, if not the finest games I've ever played. My main reason for chosing it is that I got my N64 from my cousin after he got bored with it, with the games Super Mario 64, Quake II and LOZ: OOT. I beat Quake II within the day, and tried out OOT, I got the first sword, shield, some deku sticks, deku nuts and wandered around the lost woods for a bit, got bored and put Super Mario 64 in and played that for weeks untill I blasted all 120 stars. Super Mario 64 goes third on my list because it was the first time I actually enjoyed a game, everything I'd played before either bored me or was good but too easy or short. And even though I never owned my own system before that I felt cheated by games like that. Super Metroid was about the only game before the N64 that I really felt was a good game. I only ever got to play friends consoles so my choice of games was pretty limited.
So, when I finished Mario 64, I gave OOT another go, albeit reluctantly after a friend kept going on about how great it was, and I got addicted to it. It was massively long, incredibley fun, there was no need to plough through the story as it's was filled with sidequests and minigames.
I was challenged and had great fun at the same time and there's something just special about it. Basically it was the game that got me into gaming properly.

    2) Pokemon - Pretty much all of them. I must have spent more money on the pokemon franchise than anything else in my life. The GBC was the first console I ever owned which was mine first. I saved up my pounds pocket money and did chores untill I could afford half of it then the other half was my birthday present. The anime got me into it and the TCG, and although my interests in those things died away after about a year, I still love the games now.

    3) Super Mario 64. See 1)

    4) Super Smash Bros. Melee. There is no more fun than four friends clustered around a TV, squinting at the four sections, proclaiming that everyone else is a screen watcher, or 'I'd have won if that blue shell hadn't hit. SSBM and Mario Kart are the ultimates in having friends over. 'Nintendo characters fighting, that's kiddy!' is what I always hear from people who've never played it, but I've never met anyone who hasn't been sucked in buy it's sheer awesomeness. Mario Karts excellent but I just prefer SSBB and it ranks up there with Time Splitters and Halo for best multiplayer over any console in my opinion.

    5) Conker's Bad Furday - Another N64 choice
CBF is just a hilarious game and beautifully executed. Graphics that suited the game, voice overs that actually worked and the best game plot ever. I'm still suprised it actually got made and at the same time still disapointed at the X-box version.
CBF is one of the games that is just impossible to explain to other people. 'You have to feed the cows prune juice so they'll fill the silo up with shite that you can swim through to get to the next area.' Most people would be backing away at this point. But not anyone whose ever played it. It was sorta like South Park too, it was even better because you weren't meant to be playing a game like it.

    Consoles I own - Nes
    Snes
    N64
    GBC
    GBA SP
    GC
    DS
    Wii

Last games bought - Lost in Blue 2
    Mario Super Strikers Charged
    Pokemon Diamond

    And thanks Maxpower

Thanks Raines I will get those games posted on the first posting for you. And on a side note having not played Conker's bad fur day in years your post made me want to shoot some weasels with a machine gun (that was a great game.)

Also awhile back I had dimmufan ask if he could join (a long while, I am slow sometimes) I have watched his posting numbers and even though he is a newer member he is quite active so I allowed him to join the club. Lets welcome both of them.

Also dimmufan if you post your top five favorite Nintendo games I will add them also to the front page.

Also for anyone who is interested please send me a post if you have changed your name and want me to update it. I am always suprised when I read a post by someone I don't think I know only to find out that I know them well. (I'm looking at you existing dark or DarkWolf or whoever you claim to be.)

Anyhoo, I haven't been paying as close attention as I thought to the Smashbros. site. Raines knows this, but there will be a "Pokemon Trainer" in the game, controlling Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard from the sidelines. I wonder how they will implement the switching out of pokemon (like what button will be pressed to change them. I think I'm gonna shoot myself in the foot many a time, switching pokemon out by accident in my excitement, if I choose to play as the Pokemon Trainer...) Also today, Diddy Kong has been announced as being in the game. Definitely a good addition... but the Pokemon Trainer is quite the shocker. Very intriguing. Anyhoo...

So far I've been excited about all the new characters except Ike. Unless they make his style really different to Link, Young Link, Roy and Marth, (I'm assuming they aren't dropping any characters).
I hope they change the old characters aswell, like the ones in SSBM that were just clones like Capt. Falcon and Gannondorf. I'd settle for less characters in the new game so long as they all had a different fighting style. That said one of my favourite charcaters in SSBM was Dr. Mario, who was just a heavier hitting mario.

And does anyone have Trauma Centre for wii? And would they recomend it?

I rented Trauma Center for the Wii and it was fun for a while but then got kind of tedious (and a little weird) to tell you the truth I liked a game called Cooking Mama better. It sounded stupid but my little sister was staying at my house and wanted to try it out so we rented it and had a blast! I am pretty sure I will be purchasing it here soon.

My suggestion would be rent Trauma Center first to try it out and if you don't like it try out Cooking Mama.

I'll wait till I'm back at college and see if anyone has Trauma Centre then.
And Cooking Mama, I've played a mates DS version and enjoyed it for about an hour then I got pretty bored. It's the kind of game I'd buy for about Ł10, and play in ten minute bursts. So I doubt I'd invest in it for the wii.
I'll be playing Diamond alot in the next week, getting ready to wup my mates.

I'm a bit annoyed at the fact Twilight Princess only has three memory slots. I know LOZ games have always had three ('cept Majoras Mask) but my little bro has one file and my mums started playing the game (she's upto the last twilight section, just before the water dungeon) and is really enjoying it, she isn't a gamer atall but has really gotten into TP.

I dunno about Marth. They haven't reintroduced him yet. Maybe he will be an unlockable character, but who knows?

I've also heard that Ganondorf is one of the characters people are really calling for a return of (along with the Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch, supposedly...) *shrug* I'm glad that Fox is still in it (my best character.) I'm not too concerned with who the new additions are, although so far they've been pretty cool. Anyhoo...

ah, smash bros is awesome. I think my best character (on the n64 since I havent the money for new games anymore) would have to be Link, but on the gamecube version I was awesome with Marth, if I ever get a wii, which I'm hoping to do once I get a job is to get TP since I love playing it at my friend's house and probably smach bros since it'll most likely be out by then, I havent been able to post in here for a WHILE because...well, I don't have a wii and that seems to be the main thing everyone talks about in here.

Anyways, I've currently beaten Dynasty Warriors for GBA, Sonic Advance 3 (I think that's the title) again for the GBA, Super Mario Bros 3 (another GBA game, that one took quite a while) and that's about it, I'll try to get back into gaming, but without any money that's going to be a problem

Back to revive this forgotten club...

I finally got my freakin' Wii today! Damn straight! Target happened to have some in stock when I was there. I just went back to the gaming area on the off chance that there would be one there. I looked down, noticed the box, stopped dead in my tracks, and went "Hmm..." Then I walked over to my mom, who was across the hall looking at baby toys with my sister and her child, and said, "Mom, there's a Wii over there." "Oh really?" "Yeah. I'm gonna get it." "No Tom, you should wait." "NO!!"

Y'see, my mom does not understand just how hard these damned things are to find. She sees them every once in a while at Costco-and does not tell me about it, apparently, but just assumes I know-and therefore thinks that this is something you can leave on the shelf for a couple days and expect to come back and get it. In any case, I obviously did not listen to her. I went ahead and got it, along with Twilight Princess and a 3-year warranty through Target.

I get home, hook the thing up, start fooling around with it... ...and I have got to tell you, that "wiimote" pissed me off for the first fourty minutes or so. I was not having an easy time pointing at stuff on the screen at all, and it earned numerous curses from me. Finally, when I got the internet working and downloaded some updates, after that the controller worked easier for some reason. Maybe it was an adjustment in the updates, or maybe I just inexplicably got better with it after the break (I left and ran an errand for my mom while it was downloading.)

Made my first two Miis; myself and a character named "Greg." Haven't started Zelda or Wii Sports yet, but I shall, soon...

Tomorrow is a great day for me and Wii owners around the globe, why you ask?

    SUPER PAPER MARIO

Yay I'm off to pick up my copy tomorrow. I've been looking forward to this game a lot as you can tell.

You only just got your Wii Taco, damn must have sucked waiting so long. I heard they couldn't meet the demand but damn.

The Zelda on the Wii is without a doubt the greatest yet, hope you enjoy it Taco

Darkwolf, on Smash Bros. I love sausaging people (sounds a bit rude) to death with Game & Watch plus the frying pan packs a serious punch.

Yeah. Heh. Though I haven't really played it all that much yet... I've been working and hanging out with people. I've tinkered around with Miis and the options menu a lot, though. I also plan to get a bit of playing time in today, as I have today off. Yay!

Super Paper Mario comes out tomorrow...? My friend has already played and beat it, so it must've already come out in the US. *shrug* "I vant to play et." Anyhoo...

I'll tell you what I have been excited about lately is downloading classic games with me Wii. It is awesome. I have recently downloaded Iceclimbers, Kid Icarus, The legend of the Mystical Ninja, Shining in the Darkness, and Shining force, I am also planning to get mike tysons punch out, excite bike, milton's secret castle, techmo super bowl, and more.

It is nice to be able to play these classic games with a new system. I have all the old systems but some of my controllers are getting soft and sometimes its a pain to pull them out.

The Nsider forums are going away, apparently. Too bad. They contained some of the most strongly opinionated people I have ever seen in my entire life; it was interesting to see what they had to say about the new updates on Brawl.

Speaking of Brawl, it was announced in an update yesterday that it will support Wifi connection. Sakurai talked about two modes of online play; one with friends, and the other with anyone. The one with anyone is to be completely anonymous, however, and there will be no ranking system built in. I believe they were saying they wanted to lower the competitive nature of the game a bit and make it "more fun" at one point.

There was also an announcement today listing a number of enemies that will appear in the game. One was an enemy that reminded me strongly of the motorcycle enemy in the Kirby games (in this game, the enemy is called "Roader." I don't remember what the enemy in the Kirby game was called. Maybe it is the same one; looks rather similar.) That was the most notable enemy to me. Anyhoo...
