Do you need a purpose to exist?
I, personally, don't need a purpose because I have already fulfilled it. My purpose is to live my life and have nothing stand in the way of it. Not all things need a purpose to exist; however, we seem to have one anyway. This topic is actually quite hard to cover. It is all based on what a person thinks and believes.

Do you need a reason to live?
Nothing needs a reason to live. Anything can actually live if they are given life, but that doesn't mean they need an exact reason. I don't need a reason because it's almost the same as purpose. Reason and purpose are almost the same thing.

Do people need to know who you are for you to exist?
There is an obvious answer to that question. The answer is no because there are things we don't even know exist, yet they continue to exist, it's just that we don't know about it yet. However, we can think of it as non-existant because we don't even know its there. So there is a 50/50 on this one depending on the person's beliefs.

Can you live with being a nobody?(Not KH Nobodies)
Of course I can. I think I'm a nobody to everyone. I'm sure many people do, and they continue to live regardless of being nobodies. There are some people though that do anything for attention, and those people I don't think can live as nobodies.

Can you exist with being ignored by the masses?
I think I sort of answered this with the above answer

This one is a toughie This one depends on the person's state of mind. If they believe they are nothing and are not recognized by others, they may actually believe they are not part of existance. It all has something to do with some psychological type of thing, but I don't want to get into that

Personally, I wouldn't. I don't need recognision to exist. I would rather much like not to be recognized because that way I wouldn't have to deal with the pains and troubles we have today. However, I would be awful lonely, and I hate to be alone.

Hehehe like I've said already. I've fulfilled my purpose, and still I live. One does not need purpose to live.

Probably not, but if I did it wouldn't be a good one so let's just leave it like that.

No. Not really. Either I am or I'm not, chances are I am as I seem to have a consciousness of sorts. Heh...

Not necessarily. What if everyone bar you died or they all got dementia or something. Not likely but they wouldn't know you and you'd still exist the same way you had.

Yeah. Life's for living. There's always something new.

If anyone is thinking that it is about me and stuff like that, No it's not.

I write these threads for two reasons.
1. To see how people react to things that make them think about who they are and what they believe.
2. For the betterment of others as they begin to question the world around them with an open mind.

Truthfully, those who refuse to answer these questions and deny the possibilities of what is asked, fear what they could learn from them. What do you have to lose from answering them?


If you want to know something about me, then ask. Ask without a bounds to questions.
If you have a problem or something with me, then say it to me, not just from afar.


3 things about me so stuff like this won't happen again:
1. Nothing you say or do to me will anger or fill me with hate. lol
If there's a problem, I'll put a stop to it for the better of all involved.

As for the actual thread, I don't know.
I can probably test what may happen, but for me, I'm not interested.

Not specifically...I believe a person can live their life however they wish, and they doesn't need a purpose, just so long as they're happy.

It's kind of the same as above. But really, everyone has a reason. We've been given this life, and so we're living it. I believe that's a good enough reason, purely because we've been given life. Whether a person chooses to find more reasons to live, is entirely up to them.

Not really...it's not up to others to decide whether you exist or not. It's your own knowledge.

Of course you can ^_^ Everyone is someone. Some choose to broadcast themselves more than others, some choose to do more with their life, and others don't. Whatever makes a person happy should be fine. They shouldn't have to prove themselves as a significance. Just because we're not big moviestars driving ferraris and living in big penis shaped mansions doesn't mean we don't exist, right?

I don't think so...life is supposedly easier when you do, but I wouldn't say you need it. At least, you don't need recognition from everyone. I guess it depends on who you are, and what your outlook on life is.

By anyone, yes. I hate being ignored. And I don't just mean whenever I say something, and everyone ignores it, I mean as in life. If I had at least one person in my life who was there for me, then I would stay for them.

Despite the shortness of this responce, I agree with it.

In this day and age, you just can't afford to stand around and think too much about existence, because in the long-run, it's pointless. If you think about it, all you end up doing is piling more and more stress on whenever something depressing happens. Life has it's up and downs, you just get on with it, whether or not you have a set list of reasons.
On another note, I guess this thread borders onto "if you had no reason toe xist, would you commit suicide?". Honestly, it would depend on how long I'd been a drifting wreck for. I can deal, not always well, but I can. I have many things to live for, even if I can't make a great deal of contribution to much of anything in my current state.
As for suicide, though... Well, I don't think it's cowardly or selfish really. Some people get seriously dropped into the shit and have no logical way out. I would hate for somebody I love to commit suicide, and I would think of them as selfish. But I would eventually come to accept the fact that they reached the point where there were no other choice, and I would love them just the same.

So, do I need a reason to exist? In a way, yes. I like to have something to work for and fall back on when I'm down, everybody does. On the other hand, though, I lived without much of a cause for a long time before... it was tougher, but I managed.

It is quite hard to grasp the concept of non-existence. Some might say that purple giraffes do not exist, but yet, they do. They exist in your mind. Even though they don't exist on the face of the earth, does not mean that they don't exist in someone's mind. If you can use any of the senses on it, then it exists. That's what our senses do, they let us know that we exist.

Yes, and that purpose is to find a purpose for existence. I often ponder what it really means to exist, and strive to learn the secrets of the universe. It's a bit of a stretch, but nothing is impossible, and it makes for a long existence.

Yes. I find that if I don't have a reason to live, I am taking up space and bothering people with my presence. It's not really healthy.

Not everyone, necessarily. I do want the work that I do (music writer, but not the celebrity kind) to be passed down in hopes of keeping the art of music alive. But to exist, I just want the people close to me to remain close.

I couldn't live with being a complete nobody, to be honest. I would like for my name to be mentioned in certain musical circles, but I don't necessarily covet the super-celebrities. It might sound a little arrogant, but music is my passion, and I think it's only natural that I want to make an impact.

I would rather be ignored by the masses, as my image would result in less knowledge on important political issues and more knowledge on what I eat for breakfast.

A reason? The best reason I can think of is that we were given the gift of life when we were born and who are we to check out, so to speak, just because we can't pinpoint a specific reason for being here.
