No, you cant. But you can use drawings and the like from deviant art. There's plenty of stuff floating around there, and other sites. Putting in a character from a popular show/movie/etc will appeal more to some members, but leave the members who've never seen that show/movie/etc feeling left out. We want a banner that every member can put in his or her sig without worrying over who's in it.

Well, I'm browsing deviantart right now and it's full of shitty art. I can't find anything good for vampires. Google isn't giving anything good right now.. I can't even find the type of image I wanted to use.

I need some help in finding an image. Seriously. x_X
The internet isn't friendly towards sexy vampire girls.

    Here's my entry.

    http://i196.photobucket.com/albums/a...imsonmoon4.png

The vampire on the far left is from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, but Xeim OKed it for me.
EDIT: It was OKed as VtMB isn't as well known as such commercial ventures as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and other such franchises. I'd greatly reccommend giving it a try if you haven't already. ^^

My dad's computer is picking up speed. So I finally decided to answer the questions:

What draws you to vampires/werewolves? Can you remember what first got you into them?
Werewolves are sick. Their brute strength. Their lust for human flesh. I haven't seen as many werewolf movies as I had seen vampire movies, but they're pretty cool.

I've always had a fascination with vampires from as far as I can remember. They're dark. They're mysterious. They're sexy. And they're so hypnotizing. I've seen movies like Dracula, Queen Of The Damned, Dusk Till Dawn, and various others.

What do you believe is the best interpretation of a vampire and/or werewolf? Be it book, film, site, etc.

    Bram Stroker's 'Dracula'
Anne Rice's 'Queen Of The Damned'
    Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot'

I'm sure if you've had a history class in school, you've heard of Vlad Dracul or Vlad The Impaler. If you haven't here's a brief history about him. It's really amazing:

    From DreamSmith Graphics
Vlad Dracul was the father of Vlad the Impaler (1430-1477), the person who has been identifed as the historical Dracula. He was the illegitimate son of Prince Mircea, the ruler of Wallachia, that area of present-day Romania south of teh Carpathian Mountains. His mother migh have been Princess Mara of the Tomaj family of Hungary. He possibly spent a period of his youth at the court of Sigismund I of Luxembourg, the King of Hungary, as a token of faithfulness of Mircea's alliance with Sigismund. Thus, Vlad might have grown up in Buda and in locations in Germany. He married and had a son, also named Mircea.

In 1430 Vlad appeared in Transylvania as an official in charge of securing the Transylvanian border with Wallichia. He resided in Sighisoara, where toward the end of the year his second son, Vlad (later called Vlad the Impaler), was born. Shortly after the child's birth, it became known that Sigismund had select Vlad as his candidate to rule Wallachia. Vlad was invited to Nüremberg to be invested by the Order of the Dragon. (Sigismund had founded the order in 1418), which had a variety of goals, among them to fight Islam.

Now bearing the title of prince of Wallachia, he was unable to secure the throne. He eventually created a powerful alliance by marrying Eupraxia, the sister of the ruler of Moldavia, as a second wife. In 1436 he was finally able to secure the Wallachian throne, and in the winter of 1436-37 he moved to Tirgoviste, the Wallachian capital. He had three other children: Radu, a second son also named Vlad (commonly refered to as Vlad the Monk), and a second son named Mircea.

In 1437, following the death of Sigismund, Vlad Dracul signed an alliance with the Turks. In March 1442 he allowed Mezid-Bey to pass through Wallachia and attack Transylvania. However, the Turkish army was defeated and the Hungarian army pursued Mezid-Bey back through Wallachia and drove Vlad Dracul from the throne in the process. He took refuge among the Turks,, with whose help he regained the throne the following year. To secure the new relationship, Vlad Dracul left two sons, Vlad and Radu, in Turkish hands. Then, in 1444, Hungary moved against the Turks. Vlad Dracul, attempting to keep his pledge to the sultan but also aware of his obligations to the Christian community, sent a small contigent to assist the Hungarian forces. They met with a resounding defeat, which Vlad Dracul and his son Mircea blamed on John Hunyadi, the governor of Hungary. In 1447 Hunyadi led a war against Vlad. The decisive battle was fought near Tirgoviste, and as a result Vlad was killed and Mircea captured by the Romanian boyars (the ruling elite) and tortured and killed.

The year after Vlad Dracul's death, his son Vlad Dracula ("son of Dracul") attempted to assume his throne. He was unable to do so until 1456. Soon after becoming prince of Wallachia, he avenged the death of his father and brother.

    Vlad The Impaler (1431?-1476)

Vlad the Impaler was a historical figure upon whom Bram Stoker partially built the title character of his novel Dracula.

The name Dracula was applied to Vlad during his lifetime. It was derived from drac, a Romanian word that can be interpreted variously as "devil" or "dragon." Vlad's father had joined the Order of the Dragon, a Christian brotherhood dedicated to fighting the Turks, in 1431, shortly after Vlad's birth. The oath of the order require, among other things, wearing the order's insignia at all times. The name Dracula means son of Dracul or son of the dragon or devil.

The actual birth date of Vlad, later called Vlad the Impaler, is unknown, but was probably late in 1430. He was born in Schassburg (aka Sighisoara), a town in Transylvania. Soon after his birth, his father was invested with the insignia of the Order of Dragon.

In 1451, while he was at Suceava, the Moldavian capital, the ruler was assassinated. For whatever reasons, Vlad then went to Transylvania and placed himself at the mercy of Hunyadi, the very person who had ordered his father's assassination.

Hunyadi died of the plague at Belgrade on August 11, 1456. Immediately after that event, Vlad left Transylvania for Wallachia. He defeated Vladislave II and on August 20 caught up with the fleeing prince and killed him. Vlad then began his six-year reign, during which his reputation was established. In September he took both a formal oath to Hungarian King Ladislaus V and, a few days later, an oath of vassalage to the Turkish sultan.

Vlad committed his first major act of revenge. On Easter Sunday, after a day of feasting, he arrested the boyer families, whom he held responsible for the death of his father and brother.

Vlad's brutal manner of terrorizing his enemies and the seemingly arbitrary manner in which he had people punished earned him the nickname "Tepes" or "the Impaler," the common name by which he is known today. He not only used the stake against the boyers, whom he was trying to bring into subservience, he also terrorized the churches, both the Orthodox and the Roman Catholic, each of which had strength in his territory.

Vlad also used terrorist tactics against his foreign enemies. When he thought that merchants from Transylvania had ignored his trade laws, he led raids across the border in 1457 and again in 1459 and 1460 and used impalement to impose his will. During the latter incursion he looted the Church of Saint Bartholemew, burned a section of Brasov, and impaled numerous people. That raid was later pictured in anti-Dracula prints showing him dining among the impaled bodies.

During his reign, Vlad moved to the villiage of Bucharest and built it into an important fortified city with strong outter walls. Seeing the mountains as protective bulwarks, Vlad built his castle in the foothills of the Transylvania Alps. Later, feeling more secure and wishing to take control of the potentially wealthy plans to the south, he built up Bucharest.

At Castle Dracula he was faced with overwhelming odds, his army having melted away. He chose to survive by escaping through a secret tunnel and then over the Carpathians into Transylvania. His wife (or mistress), according to local legend, committed suicide before the Turks overran the castle. In Transylvania he presented himself to the new king of Hungary, Matthias Corvinus, who arrested him.

Vlad was imprisoned at the Hungarian captial at Visegrád, although it seems he lived under somewhat comfortable conditions after 1466. By 1475 events had shifted to the point that he emerged as the best candidate to retake the Wallachian throne. In the summer of 1475 he was again recognized as the prince of Wallachia. Soon thereafter he moved with an army to fight in Serbia, and upon his return he took up the battle against the Turks with the king of Moldavia. He was never secure on his throne. Many Wallachians allied themselves with the Turks against him. Hiis end came at the hand of an assassin at some point toward the end of December 1476 or early January 1477.

The actual location of Vlad's burial site is unknown, but a likely spot is the church at the Snagov monastery, an isolated rural monastery built on an island. Excavations there have proved inconclusive. A tomb near the altar thought by many to be Vlad's resting place was empty when opened in early 1930s. A second tomb near the door, however, contained a body richly garbed and buried with a crown.

Welcome, bro! ^_^ Good to see you in here. Now, do you want to be a vampire or a werewolf in the members list?

Also, Evangel, I never got a response from you. You seemed to like vampires, though, so I'll put you down as that for now?

Good banners, Toph and Silver. ^_^ I do hope we get more submissions, though. This isn't a real contest if we're only choosing between two. =/ Next thursday's the deadline, don't forget!

I would like to be a Werewolf please. =D

Well, what first got me into the whole scenario of liking werewolf's would have to have been the movie Underworld. Then I started to like them because they shape shifted on the full moon which I just thought was awesome.

What do you believe is the best interpretation of a vampire and/or werewolf? Be it book, film, site, etc.

Well, I would have to say Underworld.

Welcome, Craven. I'll add you into the list right away.

And Violet, it is fine to submit two, but as the description of the contest says, only one will be judged. Please choose which one you would like to be judged and either edit that information into your post or PM me. Either one or both could end up becoming club banners after the contest, though. They just have to go through the winner of the contest.

Also, is anyone planning on participating in club RPBs? You can post profiles at any time, you know. I'm currently working on one, and hope to have her finished...in a reasonable time frame.

I will be participating in the RPBs. I am almost done with my character and will added him in like a day or so.

Anyways it is very nice to have new members join. This club is getting so much entries. I wonder if anyone will ever be rejected from this club.

Sorry this post is so short.

    Thanks for reading this.

Here's my profile for the RPB characters of this club. With this I'd like to make an open challenge to any other member of the club to try out their character (as well as mine). If with the approval of Toph and/or Xeim, I would personally like to open the thread for the battle but allow them to pick a time limit (or post limit be whichever is chosen).

    ------------------------------------------------------

    Name: Katsu Clearsong
    Age: 24
    Height: 6’ 4”
    Species: Vampire
    Eye colour: Deep Brown
Hair: Black, spiked all round. It lengths no longer than the sides of his face.
    Skin tone: Pale
Appearance: Katsu wears a black Tailcoat suit without a hat. The lining and inner of the suit is black silk. Other than this outward appearance, beneath the formal clothing is a thin layer of durable but light steel chain-mail for protection. The mail itself covers virtually all his body where it ends at his wrists, ankles and neck where it can not normally be perceived from the suit. On his hands are a pair of gauntlets fitted upto half of his forearm to compensate for the end of the mail. The gauntlets are spiked at the tips of each finger and thumb as well as on each joint and on the back of his hands. A pattern of withering vines decorates the plated area of the forearm. The overall design of the gauntlets allows Katsu to move his hands and wrists as if he wasn’t wearing them at all.

Like the gauntlets, Katsu also wears similar boots that again extend halfway up his shin to cover up the end of the mail. Following the same pattern of the gauntlets, they are spiked at the tip and on the layered plates that extend upwards to not impair the movement of the foot or leg. On the back where it is a singular plate, they have the same vine patter rising up them.

Weapon: Ame-no-nuhoko (heavenly jeweled spear) – The weapon taken its crypt beneath a Shinto shire, it has now become Katsu’s sole weapon concerning any and all combat. It is design like any other naginata but is further embellished with signs of its power. The pole is a dark woody brown and from the point it joins with the blade, red streaks of cloth hang. The blade itself is a stainless silver colour and up the shingo-ji (the flat of the blade) are encrusted many jewels ranging from diamonds to ruby’s and other such gems.

The weapon possesses its own ability exempt to Katsu’s own. When dipped in water, the drops that fall from its blade become solid earth. This is controlled by the wielder and can we used to attack by flicking water off the blade which would then turn to earth in mid-flight. Being a master of the weapon, Katsu can also create the opposite effect. By stabbing the naginata into the earth, he can turn a small portion of it into water to be used.

Other than this, Katsu is adept at hand to hand combat if by some ill fate his weapon was disarmed from him.

    Abilities

Through his method of studying combat, the techniques Katsu learned were confide to elements: earth, wind, fire, water and void. Because of this, he was been able to harness and master these five areas to a high degree (some of these will be listed below). Also because of his vampirism, he has gained strength and speed greater than any human could dream of.

Grasp of Nature – As magicks flow through Katsu’s body, he can channel them through a single hand to launch an attack of any element (with the exception of void). If the element is not present, then the magicks manifest as what is desired. The attack is simply a pillar or conjured shape of an element.

Sundering of Control – Delving more into the magick arts, Katsu calls upon to elements to mix and attack his enemy (again with the exception on Void). Because of the mix, the attack can take many forms that are more advanced than the previous ability. This move is usually used with minimal control once summoned as the conflicting elements are designed to cause maximum damage to anything in there path (include Katsu).

Mastery of Nature – Calling on earth, fire, water and wind into one climatic attack, Katsu can manipulate all four to create a highly destructive technique. I can take the form of either a swirling vortex of all of them or four separate converging attacks from different directions.

Void – Most dangerous of the elements is void. Used in only the most extreme of conditions, Katsu hates the use of this attack to rid himself of someone. Starting as a ball of empty darkness in his hand, it takes flight and begins to expand to a greater size. In moments, all starts to be drawn to it as the sphere begins to devour all. The air swirls and at gale force winds it to is consumed. The mass loses shape as the process begins and wavering tendrils aid in dragging all into its encompassing darkness. After a minute, the element disperses. (As strong as this sounds, it can be escaped since it has a radius of destruction. If it didn’t how would I survive?)

    ------------------------------------------------------------

Bio: Born sometime in the 15th century, Katsu was a native of Japan and a devote warrior. From an early age, his father instructed him to be trained as a Samurai as to carry on the family name and little objection was held by the youth. Not in anyway naïve to what he under took, his desire was to make his name famous like those in the stories he was told. Greatly blessed by his family’s blood, he was able to grasp the art of battle quicker than any other of his age. When he came of age, his family was soon to enter him in his first duel.

His opponent was a well known warrior within the town who openly mocked the youth on both his age and choice of weapon, a naginata. Unmoved by the abuse, the duel commenced and ended in one swift blow. The opposing samurai lay defeated, trying to hold onto life from the head wound he suffered but soon succumbed to his wound from Katsu. Although his family was greatly honoured by the victory, Katsu himself was bored from the brief encounter and sought greater glory. With this he took his leave of both his family and village in his desire for a worthy opponent.

As if possessed by a demon, he traveled the entire land for that one duel to test him but found naught. Many fell to his blade and none slaked his thirst. It was many years after his leave did that day come and the course of his life was changed. In a remote port town on the western side of Japan, he found that one individual. The water glistened under the full moons light as Katsu found a foreign man within the secluded area and as if compelled to, he challenged the stranger to a duel. History seemed to repeat itself as the duel was won by his opponent in little more than a single move.

Dazed by his sudden defeat, Katsu lay with his eyes gazing at the heavens above and for the first time ever since he left his village, a feeling of calmness and clarity filled his mind. But as old feeling washed through him a shadow loomed and his eyes fluttered shut. Upon awaking he found it to be night once more as he lay within the room of an unknown building. A note was on his breast as the writing explained something he knew not. Reaching to his neck, he felt the two marks mentioned on the strange letter and took it to be true what it read. Such was how he became one of the eternals. At the age of 24, his soft flesh was corrupt and his being changed by the malevolent creature that beat him in battle.

But history did not stop there for him. With new reason, he once more began to search the country for a cure to his aliment. The cursed affliction prevented movement in the day and by night. Guards watched him with warning looks as he entered village and town in the cover of darkness. None who he asked knew of what tainted him and so he continued tirelessly until he came upon a Shinto shire. Enraged by his failure to find a cure for himself, Katsu let go of self control and desecrated the holy sight. In blind anger he destroyed all until the last altar stood. Calling forth all his strength, he smashed the stone to pieces and his weapon tore asunder. But heaven smiled upon him that day. Beneath the altar stood the greatest blessing he would ever attain as his eyes fell upon the stuff of legend: Ame-no-nuhoko. The naginata used by the Gods themselves to raised the land from the ocean.

With this in hand, a new meaning took over him as he meant to leave Japan behind. No more was he cursed by an affliction but saw it now as a gift he had not seen. To be as strong as the opponent that gave it him and to bear a weapon none could equal was satisfaction enough as he set eyes upon eternity and the promises it held. He was to live forever as something more than a mere human. All that he sought now was those like him. To seek out those other immortals and join them in life eternal.

    Update on the RPB system:

All club fights (fights between two charaters from this club) will be opened by Toph and myself. Our posts will merely detail who is allowed to post in the thread, and the post limit on the thread.

The minimun and default post limit is ten (five per person), but if you want to have more than that then feel free. All you have to do is speficy that information before the thread is created. No time limits will be put in place.

Also, if there is a specific title you would like to use, then submit it to either Toph or myself and we will include it in the title.

Although no member other than myself has produced a profile, I would like a thread opening for the purpose of my open challenge. That way there is no gap between the posting of anothers profile and the start of the battle. The title does not concern me so either Xeim or Toph can pick something fitting. The location will be with a manor and a full description will be given in my opening post.

Thank you (for when its done ^^;;; )

hello *waves* i much prefare vampires myself, -
What draws you to vampires/werewolves? Can you remember what first got you into them?
well i recently read a book called Twilight by Stephenie. There are two other books in this series and a fourth comeing out in August and a film in December. (im waiting for the fourth one to come out) and it involves both vampires and werewolves. It was very interesting and i couldn't put it dow. It involvs three main characters, bella (human) edward (Vampire) and Jacob (werewolf). I for one fell in love with Edward the vimpire (i guarentee you will fall for him or jacob if you read this book) and this take on the creatures realy got me interested in vampires and werewolfs.

I would realy like to be part of this group, it seems interesting and i think i could learn alot more about the mythical creatures.

Well, if you had read the requirements for joining, you'd see that I'd like members to have at least fifty posts. Seeing as you've just recently joined, I have no idea how long you'll stick around, and would rather not fill this club with inactive members. So, if you can come back when you've been here longer and have more posts, I'd be happy to let you in.

Deadline for sig submissions is nearing! If you're planning on participating in the contest...don't forget!

The "Banner Making Contest" is officially over. No more entries may be submitted...not that I expected any more anyway...

I'm not exactly happy with the number of submissions, but Sin and I will still judge the banners and get the results into the club as soon as we can. We may, however, hold another such contest later on if the club prospers and gains more members.

I'm not going to set a date for when we'll have the contest judged by, it'll just basically be as soon as we can catch eath other online. But still, look forward to it.

Seeing as how activity as been some what low over this week or so and lack of ideas for discussions have been put forward, I felt a need for something that would involve all memebrs of this club in. Having talked it over with Xeim to ensure this idea is ok and to hopefully raise activity once more, here is the current discussion.

(I'm sorry for the lame building of it but I needed to say something other than posting the topic)

Having looked at the different interpratations of vampires and werewolves, what do you feel are the best qualities (strength, weaknesses, methods of becoming, transformations etc) of these to have as our club's image of these creatures?

My own personal opinion on a vampire (since I am in that half of the club) is someone who has attained high rank and has an air of also snobbery about them concerning outward appearances but this can vary in interpratations and styles. For strength's I see increased strength, speed and reflexes as almost standard for them. Rare have I read a book when they haven't had these three. One my friend mentioned was a vampire casually picked up and through a truck aside. As for another other advantage (without giving too many), I think the ability to use saliva to heal over minor wounds such as cuts to be something.

Weaknesses, the typical one, sunlight. Not to turn someone to dust in an instant but to burn exposed skin over small periods of time. the longer the time in the sun, the more servere the burn. I'd also see holy/blessed items to cause the same effect. Either that or to repulse one at best if within a few feet of something of the sort.

Transformation I see as the biting of someones neck. Not just simply that though. Sure some blood will be drained but a something else is needed. Perhaps adding some of there own blood to transform someone? Its just an idea rather than sticking with what si the original idea.

Thanks to the popular media, I've unfortunately gone from seeing vampires as classy almost royal beings (Counts and the like) to being really effeminate half the time. Which I really don't like...

I believe a vampire has increased physical speed and strength, as well as fangs they can use for feeding. Transformation-wise I see them as having a more human vampiric form and the ability to shift into vampiric animals, or even into particles or something. The last one's mainly due to some stories I've heard in which they can get inside any building if invited...

Their weaknesses tend to include decapitation, a wooden steak (or even a splinter) through the heart, direct sunlight, garlic and at times, religious artifacts.

Werewolves I tend to see as being a human who could transform into a wolf when conditions are met. Typically I read that the full moon's involved, but there are other accounts of how transformations could take place if you dwelve deep enough...

I see them as more primal and savage, being able to rely on their own individual brute strength when needed. I'd think like wolves they might appear in packs if there's more than one of them in an area. Almost like family, even if none were/are genetically related before/after transformation.

Silver is said to kill werewolves as is decapitation. In some stories, massive damage has also been said to take them down, but a lot more damage than would fell a man.

I prefer Kim Harrison's interpretations... as I've said I don't know how many times. I've explained it the same amount of times.

Vampires: The increased strength and speed. I also prefer Living Vampires, as they can walk out in the sunlight. Undead are more powerful, however, but they are weak against sunlight and religious things.

Werewolves: Yes, they turn into wolves whenever they want to. They are just more powerful on a full moon. And they make packs, obviously. =P But you have to be born a were, you can't be bitten. The only thing that makes you a were by being bitten or otherwise, is the "Focus".

Hmm...I'm not quite sure the point of this discussion is getting across, so let me reiterate. We've already discussed what popular interpretation of vampires/werewolves we personally like best, and what general qualities we personally like best. Now, however, we're going to take the qualities mentioned in the post (and more if need be) and try to create the club's image of these creatures. For example:

Ann hates the full moon thing.
Itachi hates the full moon thing.
    Sin loves it.
    But Toph hates it.

As a club, we hate the belief that werewolves can only transform during full moons, and therefore, our vision of werewolves as a club does not include that.

Please note that the opinions above do not necessarily reflect the actual opinion of that user.

So really, asking you all to just post your general opinions probably isn't going to work. Sorry Itachi ^^; It's too unfocused and will make this another one post each discussion...which is what we're trying to avoid here. If this idea doesn't work, so be it. But at least we'd have tried to get something going on in here.

So, with that said...let's focus on weaknesses. What weaknesses do we feel are reasonable, and what do we feel are just plain stupid? Post your thoughts, say why, and somewhere along the lines we'll see who likes what, who hates what and who didn't mention something. Then, we'll compile the official Crimson Moon view of vampire/werewolf weaknesses, discuss if it's good or needs to be modified, and then move on to another aspect. Does that...er...make sense?

If it doesn't, I'll try to re-explain it. But, if we go the way we are now, people are just going to repeat themselves. This is an entirely different thing. Or at least, I saw it as an entirely different thing when I discussed it with Itachi. =P

    -~-

I'll share my views another time.

Vampires: My least favorite view of vampires is how they are weak to the sunlight. Anne Rice came up with that idea, but I prefer the original vampire where they aren't weak to the sun. I don't like the whole weakness to garlic and holy artifact thing, either. The rest of their abilities is fine.. such as their charm, their blood-drinking, their acrobatic skills. One traditional thing I like is how those they bite can turn into a vampire such as themselves. And the only way for them to die is if their head is chopped off or if they're pierced through the heart. Sort of like a zombie.. you can't kill one effectively by shooting it multiple times in the body... gotta aim for the head.

Werewolves: As with werewolves, I don't like the whole bit where they can only change into a wolf on a full moon. It limits their abilities(I prefer them to feel more energized on a full moon.. but that's it). They should be able to change at will. I like their weakness to silver and how they stay in packs. I hate how they make werewolves look like monkey people in the old movies. A werewolf, in my opinion, should just look like a regular wolf, but bigger with longer legs.. sort of like this guy's wolf: Maxx stride icon by *khaosdog on deviantART.

I don't believe all werewolves should be savage evil things. Intimidating, yes, but not all are evil. As they have a higher intelligence than humans, I don't see why all of them should be the villain, as Hollywood loves to portray.

Having looked at the different interpratations of vampires and werewolves, what do you feel are the best qualities (strength, weaknesses, methods of becoming, transformations etc) of these to have as our club's image of these creatures?

Vampires: I prefer vampires to only be able to infect others while biting them but the decision to do so being up to them. Vampires prefer to live alone, straying out only for food or to fill a desire. I don't like the idea of them turning into a bat, not sure why, but I do like the idea of them turning into mist. A vampire should be able to let out some sort of call, a type of hypnotism which brings his victims to him. As far as sunlight goes I think that it should be increasingly uncomfortable for a vampire but not deadly unless they have been starved of blood too long.

Werewolves: I prefer the werewolf gene to be hereditry and for any form of shapeshifting to be free will. This allows the werewolf to be a proud and noble beast that is fully aware of its own actions. A werewolf is able to take the form of a human, a wolf, and a half. The wolf form is bigger than a natural wolf with long legs allowing it to stand at about 1.5 metres tall, The human form is self explanery, and the half is where they retain their general human shape but assume wolven aspects e.g ears, tail, claws, and fur. The split of human and wolf in the half form is controllable. I think that they should live as a pack with close ties of loyalty and friendship, they shouldn't be vicsious beasts capable only of killing. They should be highly intorable to silver and fire with heightened senses and increased physical aptitude

Having looked at the different interpratations of vampires and werewolves, what do you feel are the best qualities (strength, weaknesses, methods of becoming, transformations etc) of these to have as our club's image of these creatures?

Vampires: The few people above mentioned pretty much what I wanted to say. Vampires are physically strong, speed and to add more, they have the power to manipulate and seduce. The only weaknesses that they have is the whole cross, religious artifacts, sunlight, steak to the heart, etc., etc.

Werewolves: They have brute strength pretty much and lust for flesh. And as Silver mentioned, they're weaknesses with silver is pretty much it and although they're strong on a full moon, their power weakens a bit when there is not a full moon.

Now with Xeim's question: (And it makes sense. )

What weaknesses do we feel are reasonable, and what do we feel are just plain stupid?
Reasonable: I can agree that a steak to the heart with a vampire is fair. And the whole cross thing. I also agree that silver being used as a lethal weapon towards a werewolf is fine too.

    Unreasonable:
GARLIC. Are you kidding me?! Whoever made this up needs to get shot on sight. So let's say if someone were to write a modern version of a vampire tale and uses garlic in a scene, what are you going to do? Toss an onion ring at a vampire? -_-
Even urine would've been a better selection then garlic.

I'm somewhat effy about the whole daylight thing. It would make sense since vampires are considered undead but there are vampires that can walk in daylight. =/

Other then that, I'm fine with a werewolf weaknesses.

What about the age old myth that vampires can only enter a domicile that they are invited into? That one is one of my particular favorite. Or the absence of a reflection? I'm unsure if anyone has already mentioned that one.

Nah. No one's mentioned that at all man. It's a good thing you reminded me about this. It gives me flashbacks of that lame Disney movie I saw a couple years ago. I was talking to Xeim and Toph about this on MSN. And in the movie, the vampire cannot see his reflection and before he goes in the house, he just stands in front of the door till the boy invites him to come in.

(Sadly, the vampire's name is my real name. ><)

Wow, hard choice, I love both of those very much, but I am leaning on Vampyre.

    What draws you to vampires/werewolves?

The subtle idea of having so much power and the choices you would have to make with it.

Can you remember what first got you into them?

Not really, the earliest I can remember is back when Blade came out, but I could remember loving Vampyrism before then.

What do you believe is the best interpretation of a vampire and/or werewolf? Be it book, film, site, etc.

Ah, my Current favorite series of Vampy/Lycanthropy books, the Twilight saga. The sheer power without the downsides of other Vampy's, it's crazy.

As for my RP char, do I/can I post it here?

Welcome, Kaiser Dragoon. And yes, you post your RPB character here. I'll then link to the post containing it in the members list so it can be easily accessed at all times.

    Vampire Weaknesses:

Garlic is a big no-no. It just seems silly. O_O I must say I like the "holy object" weakness that the un dead vampires have, and the not being able to go into houses without being invited is a nice thought as well. I also like the idea of only being able to kill them through decapitation or a stake through the heart, but limiting it to wooden stakes is rather silly.

    Werewolf weaknesses:

I don't really know of any besides changing only on full moons and being killed by silver bullets. And, I'm fine with both of those.
