I have seen many a kiwi. I have seen a blind albino kiwi, and held a North Island brown kiwi.

I guess they're fluffy. They have pretty scary feet though, so when you hold one you don't really want to upset it.

And unless you're holding it then you're unlikely to be touching it, given they are nocturnal and most species of it are endangered.
