See ... drowning would probably be high on the list for me. Because even if you're not getting Oxygen, you'll still be alive for a couple minutes, with just convulsions and spasms, trying to get the fluid out of your lungs. (Kind of a cross between dry heaving and coughing.) That'd probably hurt like hell. If I was still awake for it, anyway -- if I passed out before long, I guess it wouldn't be any better or worse than any other way to die.
Burning, honestly ... meh. I'd go into shock and/or pass out before too long, so I don't think it'd be the most horrible way to die.
I'd have to go with acid. Like Saddam Hussein and his sons used to do -- suspend a person from the air, then dip them in a vat of acid. THAT would suck.
Or, actually ... yeah, definitely the worst way for me to die ... Being trapped somewhere. Like under a rock -- or having an arm pinched somewhere. Like Aron Ralston, who cut his own arm off because it was stuck between a boulder and the rest of the mountain -- can you imagine going through that if he didn't have a knife? Just waiting, for a week or two even, to die? That'd suck.
