    Why?

This morning in Brisbane, where I live, a young woman was found dead with stab wounds. And another woman drove onto the busiest bridge in this city, with a 4 year old in the car and stopped in the middle of traffic and jumped off to her death. Apparently it was a murder suicide. I don't know all the details yet, but it makes me wonder, what possesses someone to do something like this?

I find it extremely sad and tragic. I couldn't stab someone or kill myself. Let alone jump off a bridge.

You know, you really have to wonder what goes throught that kind of persons head. I feel bad for them, their family, and the family of the person they killed.
None shall escape judgement, all shall fall by my blade.

I hear gun shots every week. I hear about stabbings, murders and suicides every week.

Just a normal day in (North) Las Vegas.

-98% of all people have not been involved in a murder suicide. If you're one of the 2% who is. Then I guess you're already dead.

Unless you kill someone in cold blood, and realize after that you won't be able to handle the consequences of your actions, I don't understand murder/suicide. I guess some people just snap.

    Re: Why?

According to the news, the girl was 14 years old and her 48 year old mother killed her with an axe. I cannot believe a mother would do that to their child. I haven't heard anything else. I don't know if the mother had mental issues or not. Horrible that a young girl has missed out on living her life

    Re: Why?

I understand murder/suicide very well. In fact, I've been involved in quite a few murder/suicides. The reasons for murdering somebody is simple. Perhaps somebody stole my lunch money, or forgot to clean out my Easy Bake Oven. I'm just out for revenge. And the reason why you would want to kill yourself after you murder somebody is so that you don't have to be ass raped while serving a life sentence in prison.

Yeah i saw it on the news that night, it was terrible. Obviously something led her to snap, whether it was work commitments, or finance problems or even trouble with her partner/husband. When people are backed into a corner, they will almost always do anything to escape, even if it involves murdering someone they love (in this case her daughter). Maybe she and her daughter had a fight and then she just snapped and killed her. Who knows.

As for the suicide, well i think it's because she felt so much hate for herself for what she had done that she couldn't handle it. It's a tragedy really

    Re: Why?

The ultimate reason I believe people kill themselves is due to a certain thought process. They think that everything in life is pointless. Every action, day spent working, dollar earned, dollar spent, day wasted, all ends up meaning nothing. Time unwravels with each move you make and nothing changes and no answers are gained. Life can seem like a video game you just cant be bothered playing anymore. The only intersting thing about it is wondering whats beyond life and what it means to be dead. Thats a suicidal thought process. I cant explain why the hell someone would want to murder their child.

Apparently the child in the car was 12 years old. That poor kid is going to be traumatized for the rest of his life. Not only did he watch his mum jump of a bridge, his sister is dead. F**king f**ked!

    Re: Why?

The world is a dark place these days. We are all becoming more and more stressed and isolated from one another. Whether it's shyness, or work commitments, or family obligations or even medical problems, people are communicating less and taking it upon themselves to suffer in silence. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to handle the pressure, as evidenced by the mother. I'm not saying she intended to murder her daughter if she was in the right frame of mind, but regardless of the circumstances, a murder has been committed, the mother has died and now a twelve year old boy is left alone to pick up the pieces of his now miserable life.

The real tragedy in my eyes is how will this young boy be able to move on and cope with life now that almost everyone important to him has perished and his faith and trust in people has been abolished?
