    Where my Planeswalkers at?

Who here plays Magic? Who here has a Magic Online account? I'm currently running Mono G werewolves until the new Standard rolls around if anyone wants a match sometime. KurtZisa is muh username.

Why don't we make this a MtG discussion thread? Post your MTGO usernames if you have one. If there's enough people to form a draft we could hold our own fnm's or something like that.

How long have you been playing Magic? What was your favorite set to play, draft or just in general? What color(s) do you play, and what's your favorite play style and card in each color? Best tribal? What's your favorite deck in the formats you play in? What do you think of the formats in their current state? The list goes on, say what you want, add whatever topics you can think of, let's make this a general Magic discussion thread.

Don't play online, but I've been playing Magic for a little over 10 years now. I didn't really get serious about it until around Kamigawa block, Ravnica was probably my favorite set. Innistrad and RTR were also favorites. I play all 5 colors, though I think I'd have to say blue/black is my favorite. My style is generally not tournament friendly, because I like a lot of slow startup terrible combo based strategies, infinites in particular I enjoy. I like alternate win strategies, like milling, poison counters, helix pinnacles, etc. Favorites cards in each color, let me see... Bonfire of the Damned, Helix Pinnacle, Phyrexian Obliterater, Beacon of Immortality, and Omniscience. I DESPISE tribal, Lorwyn was my most hated set in the time I've played. Lately I find myself playing a lot of Emperor, so my slow build-up decks are my most used, my green white token deck is probably my favorite for that. In one on one's, I've been playing a legacy RWB deck based on Blasphemous Act, using forbidden orchards to load the field and lower the cost, so I can drop the act on a bunch of Boros reckoners, or similar creatures, or just ragged veins the 1/1s my lands gave the opponent.

I've had Magic cards since 1994, when they first became a thing in my grade school, in 3rd/4th grade. I collected them like a madman and yet only played with friends once or twice in like 8th grade. We mostly collected them and tried to value our collections with wizard magazine.

The last time I really even touched Magic cards was in college, with my ex. It somehow came up in conversation that we both had cards, and so we spent a few Saturday nights in college just nerding out and then banging. Probably my fondest memories of the game.

I do remember making goblin heavy decks and water heavy decks though. I also had a few crazy chrome cards. I remember my favorite card art being this

I like playing tribal decks but ones that are more intuitive than just stacking lords and things like Moutainwalk. I can understand why you weren't a fan of Lorwyn though, the most recent Innistrad block felt quite similar to me. Want to play red? Vampires or werewolves. Green? Humans or werewolves. Black? Vampires or zambies. The RtR-Theros and Theros-Khans standard have been my favorites in recent years. A lot more variety and decks built around color and abilities rather then a pretty narrow tribal based environment. And sooo many new cheap/awesome cards for commander.

Do you still have any of those old cards pete? You might find some of them might be worth a bit haha.

This is probably my favorite old card that I own:

And another favorite from The Dark:

The main I didn't like tribal was because it took all the thought out of building crazy combos, and made it a game of 'count the number of times its creature type appears in its card text'. Pre Lorwyn, building a crazy combo deck meant looking through what was available in a set, finding ways cards could interact with each other, and how you could build a winning strategy around it. With tribal is just became 'put all the cards that say "elf" in a pile, bonus points if it says "elf" more than once'. I enjoyed the Alara block as well, I was particularly fond of blue white black, and to my knowledge I was one of the first to discover the thopter sword combo. Usually I'm not big on standard, just because I don't like seeing the same 2 or 3 decks in every game. Build your own standard is a favorite format of mine. It keeps the restrictions standard imposes to prevent shit from getting too outrageous, but allows more freedom than actual standard.

I think I have some of them laying around but I think don't of them were bootlegs and wouldn't be legal in tournaments. Some were bought individually and don't have the copyright markings on the bottom.

Now I'm going to be determined to find them. Shit, I should look for my old pokemon cards while I'm at it

    I played 2 decks

one with goblins and a revive thing? idk i dont remmber

another was this deck that basically was Shape Anew and he had the 2 colossal artifacts with 10 poison counter. He had nothing else in the deck so when he shape anew he would then look for the next artifact which was the poison counter. I hated that deck. I'm also certain he cheated half the time.
