    The Ultimate Social Nibbles

Haha, sorry if that sounds perverted in any way... Being nibbles... I could say snacks, but I really fancied using the word nibbles D;.

Anyway, it's the holidays so lots of socalizing and hanging out (well I assume so anyway ). Whenever I have some people over I often get mind blocked as to which nibbles to get in or prepare...
Lets face it, it's always nice to have something to dip into. Nibble on if your hungry... Cooking a roast isn't the best idea sometimes xD Especially if I'm around <_<

So here's the question/topic/debate... What do you consider to be...

    THE ULTIMATE SOCIAL NIBBLES?!

All I can think of is nachos for some reason... not too spicey because I'm a serious wimp when it comes to hot spices. But yeah...

I always go for a good relish tray, and put slices of carrots, brocolli, cauliflower, and any other sort of veggie that I like. Oh, and of course, you can't have a relish tray without pickles. Ahhh...glorious dill pickles.

Another great idea is a cheese ball. I can't remember the whole recipe, but I know that it has cream cheese and shredded cheese, and I think pimentos. Get some crackers and enjoy!

A massive bowl of nacho's with melted cheese and tabasco sauce on it. You can replace the nacho's with chips (thats fries to you non-english people >.>) if you want, potato wedges are pretty awesome aswell .

Crackers and cheese (not melted this time XD) also, dry as hell but sooo good

I'm a big fan of Ritz crackers with cream cheese and pepper jelly. They're freakin amazing, but you can go through a whole sleeve of crackers and a stick of cream cheese before you even realize it. The sad thing is, they're so good that you won't even feel bad about it.

Pigs in a blanket are my other faves. Cocktail weenies wrapped in crescent roll dough. Dip em in mustard, and it's glorious.

    Bagel bites are also addictive.

I really don't snack much though. Only on special occasions and parties where it's considered inappropriate to get hammered. Since it's summertime though, we just barbecue and have beer. It works for me.

Fondue pot (with chocolate, though cheese works too) with strawberries/bananas/raspberries/etc. I know it sounds kind of sassy, high-strung, or foofy, but it's really really good, and as long as one of your friends has a fondue pot, it makes for great snacks. Is there anything as delicious as some really nice fruits covered in hot chocolate?

I didn't think so. Now, all I need is an actual summer (I'm only a couple of months out of college, and I already miss summer vacation) .

Can't go wrong with any of the following

    A: Ritz Crackers and cheeze
    B: Chips and Salsa
    C: Chex mix.
    4: mini snadwiches

    or A-4 all at once.

I have found in my time these are the 4 most likly items to be eaten at any type of social gathering. But to me Chex mix takes the cake. Beer and the mix go hand in hand and make for an awsome mix.

    Also other good selctions include:

    Pigs in a blanket
    Popcorn
    and shrimp and cocktail sauce.

There's one that you're missing that is pretty obvious, Sociables. >.>; It's got the word in it almost. ^^; But hey, they are pretty good crackers and I actually do see them at a lot of catered events.

But joking aside I prefer Wheat Thins since they are a little more substance for a cracker. Though since they change the original recipe and made them thicker they are not as thin and good as they used to be. Which is why you go for the Big Wheat Thins which are like the original Wheat Thins only bigger. And they're a solid cracker that won't break or snap off in dip too.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.

The last time we had a big social gathering at my house was when it was the last episode of Friends. We had loads of nibbles (). We had a big bowl of different flavour crisps, bombay mix, popcorn, toasted pitta bread, sliced veggies and dips. We also had some chicken strips/dippers which we'd cooked an hour or so before and left to cool down. On the drinks front, loads of bottles of Stella, Coke and Courvosier. Fun. ^^

If I have a smaller gathering - if one or two friends come over for example - we usually just snack on tiny things with something filling. Like... maybe a small dinner, and a pack of crisps or something. When it comes to drinks... usually whatever is in my fridge, like water or Coke.

Once or twice, we've picked up take-out.
