    Top 10 X-Men

Very Simple. I'm actually quite curious to know who people think are the best or their favorite x-men. There are a couple of characters esspecially who I'm interested in how people rank, so in order from 1-10, how do you rank the top X-Men.

    Rules:

    1. Main team members only. No villians or Alternate Reality.
    2. Must have been a significant member of an x-men team. No single story characters, Deadpool, etc.
    3. No new characters who have come out in the past 3 or 4 years. longevity should play a little bit of a factor and I'd have trouble accepting that you think Darwin is more important than Storm, etc.

The list should included bolded & underlined names with a colon and a description of why you like them if you chose. Like this

    1. Character 1: Is the best because,,,,,
    2. Character 2: Is almost the best because,,,,,

    My List:

    1. Professor X: Come on! He's the namesake of the entire team, the founder of the school, and the most powerful telepath on the planet. On Omega Level Mutant! Who could possibly be better or more important than that?
    2. Cyclops: Well he comes close. He's always been the field leader, and now he's taken over the team at large. He's the chosen big brother to the entire school, and although I'm not really a fan, he is that important.
    3. Wolverine: I'm not sure how people view him. I know he gets almost overexposed, but he's the guts of the group. The anti-tactician who just goes balls to the wall when Scott won't, and when it's the right thing to do. They need his leadership as much as anybody elses and he's loyal to them all.
    4. Jean Grey: I know she's been dead, but throughout the history of this team, she has been the leading lady. The daughter to the guy at #1, and the love of the guys at #2 & 3. PLUS SHE WAS THE FREAKIN PHOENIX!
    5. Storm: An incredible back story, far different than most, and she's a rock solid member of the team. Perhaps, aside from wolvie, the best of the new characters they ever introduced. Nevermind that she's been a strong leader for decades.
    6. Iceman: He's original. He's an Omega. And he's just fun. He lightens up the team and he's strong as anything, nearly immortal if he chose to be.
    7. Nightcrawler: Now this guy brings UNIQUE in a lot of ways, but I put him above some long standing favs like Angel, Gambit, Rouge, & Beast, because he's just plain cooler, and he's been around long enough to have played many important roles. Outside of Shadowcat, i think his power is the one I'd take.
    8. Colossus: Well he's just a mainstay. He's the strongest, and he's got a great backstory and deep love for kitty. He's a gentle quiet giant, but deserves recognition as one of the very best.
    9. Angel: It starts to get tough, but Angel's deep past with the team puts him ahead of some others. I don't particularly like him, but his role as archangel for so long places him with a significant backstory that can never be overlooked along with the history of the team. Did I mention he's original?
    10. ????? : And the last one I can put in the top 10. Wow There's so many. Psylocke, Emma, Multiple Man, Cable, Banshee, Havok? Well there was one man who at one point completely changed the world. And I mean completely. With his uniqueness he delivered what may be the best X-Over ever, and perhaps the best story ever, and he ultimately provided the key for redemption. He's a bad ass, with a deeply sad past, but a fierce dedication to the cause. Just read the stories of his first appearance and acceptance to the team. I give you Bishop!

    Honorable Mentions:

    - Gambit: Really where has he been for the past 20 years? And can somebody give me a big moment of his. I love the guy, but can't really find a good connection for why he's such a big star.
    - Rouge: Now Rouge I love. She's a legit top 10er, and i just couldn't bring myself to place her over Colossus or Angel in the end.
    - Kitty Pryde: She's close, but not as close as Rouge. She has my favorite power of all, and I love her link to Colossus.
    - Cable: Now Cable is a key character, but it's been obvious for a long time that after his initial use in the battle with Stryfe that they didn't really know what to do with him. UNTIL they brilliant wove together his and Bishops futures to link with the history of Hope. I like it.
    - And there are others, some mentioned in the breakdown of the oginal list who aren't top 10ers in my mind but have played important roles. I'm sure you may have others, so lets see em!

I'll hit you up with my favorite three, because that's all I have time for.
#1 Nightcrawler: He is indeed the coolest X-men to me, his ability is the ability I would want out of all the X-men. I also just love his back story, a mutant who didn't get to "be a normal kid" so to speak and still grew up to be a good person, despite being abandoned and shunned in his home village.
#2 Gambit: THE LOLZ. This guy is what it's all about, be a hero to get chicks. His power blows ass imo, but his heart of gold under his cold ladies man exterior makes him a savvy hero with just a bit of unpredictability.

    #1 Nightcrawler:

    #2 Gambit:
    lulz.... you fail.

I'm also only going to put up 3... as my schedule is tight as well.

#1 Iceman: Omega-Level mutant. Pimp. All around awesomeness. I think the original obsession with iceman came from a video game... I know on MvC2 iceman was ALWAYS in my team. His poke is obscene.

#2 Nightcrawler: also loved this guy forever. No "real" reason, other then he's just awesome. Also used him in a video game (I think it was a platformer) and loved it.

#3 Arch-Angel: I always liked arch-angel better then angel. Arch-Angel had a brooding subconscious desire to violence that his wings acted out on themselves. I always liked how it mirrored a lot of repressed feelings we all carry around.

    Re: Top 10 X-Men

I nix your deadpool vote LOAF. He's not an x-man,,,, leastwise not #1 by any stetch. Ya gotta be with the team longer than a story arc to qualify here. Somebody truly important to the team, and not just your favorite power or personality necessarily.

Good replies from some of you, but really short lists! nobody can count up to ten? LOLOL

And for the record, because I saw Midget Bob refer to it,,, Arch-Angel = Angel,,,,,,,, just so there's no confusion there. I agree I liked the Arch-Angel personality much better on the whole, but it's all part of the same guy.

    Re: Top 10 X-Men

Prof X- For reasons that should be all too obvious.

Bobby Drake- One of the most powerful of all mutants, too bad he just can't control those awesome powers. But on the off-chance that he does, it's over.

Wolverine- He smokes. Why does he smoke? Cause he can. Must be kind of liberating knowing that no matter what goes down, you've got 10,000 times a better chance at survival than anyone else.

Jubilation Lee- A vampire member of the "**** you" club. Team Jubilee can fly over your ass, arm wrestle you to the ground, evade detection, shoot fireworks and deliver the kill.

Rogue- So she got most of her powers from stealing from an established superheroine? She still isn't a girl you'd want to mess with...at all. Forgive the understatement.

Colossus- Part of team Fastball. The physically strongest member of the X-men. This guy isn't the Hulk, but he's as close as you're going to get.

Beast- An outfit of superheroes is only as good as the brains behind them. X-Men have at least two. Xavier and Beast prove to be the think tank behind plenty of victories.

Angel- Rich and fabulous. Not the most powerful of the X-men, but Angel has style where it counts. And I just wonder how much of Angel's pocket change gets mixed into the X-men accounts.

Gambit- He had to be on here somewhere. He's an ass, a gambler, a Cajun and he has prolly one of the more creative powers ever.

I know that's only nine, but let me make up with it by saying. I HATEDESPISECANNOT****INGSTAND the Phoenix arc! It was a black hole in the X-Men universe.

And I really want to add that my all-time favorite Marvel Character will always be Doctor Strange.

    I'm out.

    -Sin

    Re: Top 10 X-Men

#1 Cyclops. He's the leader of the X-Men. He was chosen to lead them as a young man, and really stepped up. He's always been a little overshadowed by guys like Wolverine, but unlike Wolverine, Cyclops is the ultimate field general.

#2. Banshee. He was always kind of the outcast of the X-Men, and had to step his game up severely in order to compete alongside them. He even sacrificed himself in an attempt to save a group of innocent people from Vulcan.

#3 Cable. One of the most interesting, and probably one of the most powerful mutants in the entire group. He's a grizzly war veteran who would be so much more powerful if he didn't have to use so much of his telekinetic to keep his body from falling apart.

#4 Quicksilver. Hasn't ever really been a team member of the X-Men, but has helped them out enough, and has worked with another X-team, the X-Factor. He was originally a villain with his father Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, but his moral compass pointed a little bit away form his father's ways, so he decided to leave. He's also one of the only members to ever work for an X-team as well as the Avengers.

#5 Archangel. Angel lost his wings, went insane and joined the Horsemen of Apocalypse, and eventually redeemed himself, rejoining the X-Men, and becoming better than he ever was. He's also one of the most visibly appealing mutant.

#6 Kitty Pryde. She's one of the only X-Men that doesn't come from a broken background. Besides her power, she's just an ordinary girl.

#7 Rogue. She has one of the coolest powers out of all the X-Men; any power. Yet she can't control it. She was a villain before she was an X-Men, and is proof that Xavier's methods work.

#8 Strong Guy. He's really strong, doesn't understand what Xavier is trying to do with the whole X-Men thing, and is funny as hell.

#9 Emma Frost. Usually drawn with huge tits.

**** that, I'm going with a newer character.

#10. X-23. She's a female clone of Wolverine, and was created to be the ultimate assassin, which she was, until she ran into Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men, who have decided to do what they always do and make the lives of mutants a little bit better. She's a tragic character who actually has hope for the future.

    Re: Top 10 X-Men

    1. Wolverine. Because he's the best character EVER. He's like all bad ass and stuff.
    2. Cyclops. Because he's the leader, and you should do what he says. Except for Wolverine, because Wolverine goes where he wants to go.
    3. Rogue. Hot.
    4. Cable. Also bad ass, but he was Scott's son, making him less bad ass.
    5. Jubilee. She was Wolverine's sidekick sometimes, so that's like bad ass through osmosis? maybe.
    6. Gambit. He was like the ragin' Cajun? That's a lame nickname. Otherwise he'd be higher.
    7. Nightcrawler. He could teleport and stuff. And he was blue.
    8. Colossus. He was really strong.
    9. Storm. Controlled weather and stuff.
    10. Beast. Was really smart or something. Also blue. Also, Kelsey Grammer.

Pretty much I just arbitrarily listed people after 1. Because Wolverine is really the only X-Man that matters.
