    Theft

Had my fog light stolen... Again. The opposite one this time. 2 months ago, my right fog light was stolen. I replaced it and just last night my left one was stolen. Pried out with a screwdriver and they broke the clip that holds it in place as well. So soon to my Bday as well. I can't be fked buying another one again. I was at a mates place when it happened, both times. There are usually at least 6 of us inside with each of our cars parked out the front. They take regular smoke breaks so I question wether the thief was watching us the whole time or whether he was just lucky to get away with it.

Ever had anything stolen from you?

    Re: Theft

My brother pawned all my Gameboy games once. That sucked. I never did get all of them replaced, either. Aside from that, I don't think so.

When I was pretty young someone did break into our house, though. Stole the cable box and maybe some other stuff, I don't remember. Clearly they weren't very tech savvy as they didn't take any of our game consoles or even the VCR (yes this was the 90s).

Dirty ****ers should go out and earn their stuff like the rest of us have too, ****ing winds me up that reporting it to the police never sees anything come from it either.

I've had my scooter stolen, some little ****ers in another town were actually caught with it, but still got away with it

Had my flat broken into and my then (new) PS1 slim was stolen, they went through my jewlerry as well, but lucky for me, my actual valuables werent in the obvious place

My mum was broken into about a year ago, as was my boyfriend

Again, all reported to the police, nothing came of it.

those people that have been questioned for 'murder' when something happens to a burglar thats in their home should be given awards, not questioned.

    Re: Theft

Aside from huge amount of CD-s and DvD-s I borrowed and never got back one of my first MP3 players was stolen. It was a cheap MS knockoff so I never really cared much for it.

On the other hand my sister got her wallet stolen with fairly huge amount of money on her previous job. She suspects it was one of her coworkers as it wasn't the first time that happened, police did shit about it, then again there's not much they could do.

    Re: Theft

My car got broken into last October while I was at work. The only thing in it was my schoolbag, since I had to go directly from school to work then, so that's good. Until you consider that my clothes, my old netbook, and my **** crazy expensive textbooks were in it. The school compensated me on the books, but my work didn't do shit to help me out with my stuff. We don't have cameras, so that's somehow my fault. Needless to say, I make it as much of a pain in the ass for them as I can when customers ask about our security.

Otherwise, nothing else has been stolen from me. Unless we want to get metaphorical.

    Re: Theft

I had my dog stolen when I was super young, his name was Pepper. Lovely dog, I never ever saw him again after that.

My eldest brother stole my PSP when he moved out of my mum's house and never gave it back to me. We aren't exactly close so I had no idea where he lived, therefore I couldn't go and get it back from him.

On the flipside, has anyone ever stolen something themselves?

When I was about five years old I stole a Barbie magazine from one of my classmates. She'd left it in school and wasn't in the next day so when the teacher asked us who it belonged to, I was like **** it, yeah that's totally mine. Obviously I didn't say **** it because I was five but you know what I mean. Don't judge me too harshly haha.

    Re: Theft

I've never been the victim of theft.

However when I was around age 14 (old enough to know better, old enough to want lots of things, but not old enough to get a job paying more than slave rates (min wage kicks in at 15)), I stole about $80 from my dad's wallet over a few weeks. I stopped when I overheard him taking to mum about it. He didn't know which one of us brothers was doing it, but their tones of voice suggested that they were really ashamed of whomever it was. I've still never owned up to it, heh. Maybe at his funeral I'll apologise. I feel bad about it though. I'd forgotten about that.

    Re: Theft

Cool story bros, I got mugged last night.

    That was fun.

Fortunately I was on foot so I didn't lose my wallet or car keys, but I had to change the locks in my apartment and building management will also be changing our mailbox keys on Monday.

3DS and Galaxy S2 were my victims. And my best deck of Magic cards, because I was in the process of carrying that back over to my friend's apartment. Three of the cards in that deck were worth about $80 each. /sigh

Oh, jeez, I'm sorry to hear that man. That must've been terrifying; I feel sick just thinking about getting mugged. I hope you can get something done about it.

Anyway, I am fortunate enough never to have anything major stolen. A couple of my 'friends' stole things off me, really stupid things, like a bit of Fool's gold I bought on a school trip, a deck of cards, and one of my 'Little House on the Prairie' books, though honestly my mum was more mad about that than I was. Also, when I was a kid, I had a 'mother and baby' sheepdog toy, and the mummy dog had velcro paws to hold her puppy. One of my 'friends', I'm pretty sure which one, stole the puppy. How heartless!

I've had a few friends have things stolen from their sheds. A friend of mine had an attempted break-in a couple of weeks after she had her lawnmower stolen.

    Re: Theft

Sorry about your story Loco. Thats rough.

I don't think I've had anything stolen from me recently. But I can share some stories that really get me riled up.

My best friend has a friend that I don't particularly like. I mean we can get along, but he is usually just a complete **** to me. I don't know if thats how he acts all the time, but its enough for me not to like him.
Regardless after a large debate, I agreed to let him come to our moving in party at our place at the time. The agreement was that no one was allowed in my room for any reason at all ever. Of course it being a party, I can't keep tabs on everyone and my room at the same time. But literally a week later he uploads a picture of facebook with my $120 dollar jacket. I run to my closet and open it up, sure enough its not there.
So I question my roommate about it, he didn't know anything about it . I confronted the kid about it and he said "I bought it bro". Yes he says bro. I dropped it, I wasn't going to get anywhere with him without physical confrontation.
I told my roommate that he was no longer allowed in the house and if he was, I would move out.

Same story, but it happened in 9th Grade with a $80 dollar jacket. The person I was set to locker with was a really good friend at the time. I left a Shady Ltd. (i was a little thug in jr high ha) jacket in the locker because obviously I trust him. End of the day comes by, I open the locker, sure enough its not there.

Hoping I had misplaced it, I ran to my PE locker, nope. Football locker, nope. Confront my roommate, he said he let so in so borrow it. So in so let so in so borrow it, so in so gave it back to my locker buddy. Locker buddy says he never got it back. Never found out what happened to it.

    Re: Theft

I had one of my favorite sweatshirts stolen from me a few years ago, up in college. We went to a bar in town, and I threw it in the coat check room, making sure to get a ticket for it. A few drinks later, it was time to go. I make my way to the coat check, to discover that my sweatshirt was nowhere to be found.

I had to walk about a mile in below freezing weather in just a tshirt and jeans. I was sick for a week after that.

Another time, when I was about 12 or 13, I had a super expensive catcher's glove for baseball. It was a beautiful, buttery leather glove, that seemed like God had crafted it for my hand alone. Then one day, in the winter, we had tryouts and rankings in a local middle school gym. During the batting section, our group sat down in a line, waiting to be called one by one. When I was called, I left my glove where I was sitting, just like everyone else had done, and I had done in years past. When I returned to my seat on the gym floor, the glove was gone. Nobody knew where it went, and I caught hell for it.

The worst part is, my dad and I still went around the fields when our league had games, and we never found it.

I've also had movies and stuff like that stolen from me by old roommates and their scumbag friends. In the long run, it wasn't worth the trouble to get them back. A few movies got them out of my life for good.

Another time, when I was with my crazy ex, we went out to a Hibachi place in town. In the hour or so that we ate, someone stole one of the rocker panels on her Celica. The parking lot was right on a major road, which made it even more ridiculous.

    Re: Theft

I've been mugged at gunpoint before. That was a bit unnerving. I didn't really like having a gun pointed at my chest, especially since it was being handled by an obviously doped-up meth addict. He took half the money I was carrying, due to his stupidity of not checking all of my pockets. That incident is the reason I don't carry a lot of money on me anymore. And why I don't work at 3 am in the middle of a ghetto.

That was the only time I've ever had anything stolen from me. And I've never stolen anything myself, because I'm an honest man. And because if I did, my mother would have kicked my ass. But mostly because I'm honest.

Gunpoint man, that's something I hope I never have to deal with. I'd be the idiot who tells everyone else not to do anything rash and then wouldn't follow my own advice. I can sort of imagine what you must have felt like afterward. I'm assuming you didn't sustain any injury though.

    Re: Theft

Ive had a lot of stuff stolen from me.
Ive never been mugged or anything like that, it mostly happened while I was in the navy. People I worked with breaking into my locker, barracks room, whatever.

Its always the same. They are dirtbags who never do anything right and always fail when they try to do something positive. I can pick them out in a crowd, anywhere, any time. Ive met that many, watched them steal from other people and turned them in, heard them talk about stealing from me.

Entitlement. They feel like I had some privelage they didnt and they deserved to take my stuff.

Ive never stolen from an individual. I dont see the benefit when compaired to the moral and legal consequences. There is nothing you can steal from someone that will make your life easier. Nothing can be taken that will make you feel better about your continued failures.

I take consolation in knowing that whatever is stolen from me will always be squandered, lost, broken or pawned for 1/100th of the value. The people that I knew that have done it are all still struggling, still wondering why god hates them and nobody gives a shit about them.
I assume its the same for the ones I dont know.

Theres no need to hold onto the anger for someone who steals something like a cellphone, or an ipod. They are working on digging their own grave and it comes back around, all at once in the form of a boss who doesnt want to hear your BS, or a cop who feels like having a power trip, or girlfriend/boyfriend who decides its time to make your life difficult.
Ive rarely seen a criminal who only does it once. Most have already decided they want to be a peice of garbage.
When it comes down to it, theyve decided to live in a fantasy land where somehow its justified.

Some guys are even out there trying to get caught, trying to get into a fight and get their ass kicked. There are people who hate themself more than anything else.
There was a term, "criminally insane", premeditation may be the difference, but someone who honestly believes that mugging, stealing and threatening stranger's lives is acceptable is clearly insane first and a criminal in that they cannot function without impedeing another's rights.

    It all comes around.
Those who choose to live in la-la land are at the mercy of reality's frequent gut-checks.

    Re: Theft

We had mass power outages all across the state last week, as did Ohio, so I had my generator set up outside and running. Middle of the f*cking day someone came by the house, and swiped it. I had been keeping an eye on it all day while sitting in the living room, the second I go to piss it was gone.

Sitting here waiting for Rocky, and Che to notice me!!
