Is it shutting or what? And why? My internet's too slow to cope with anything else, and I don't have a television to watch ER on.

They can't just chuck all those links etc away...they'll be making it into something else. They found a neat loophole that allowed them to do whatever they wanted, I'm sure they wouldn't just...or would they? If they do, I shall be megapissed. I'm at the bit in ER where Dr Greene doesn't even have cancer yet! Crap.

lowl. I have only been there a few times. Often it was too crowded for the shows to load fast enough for me to care. I don't mind. I have other places to get my shows.

Though it's changed it's domain name from .com to .cc

First off lets give ourselves all a pat on the back and wish ourselves a Happy 1st Birthday! It doesn’t seem like a year since we opened up STC fully, where has the time gone! We’ve been through so many changes and drama in the last 12 months that it feels like 5 years never mind just the one tongue.gif.

Although we certainly can’t pretend to be the first video link site we can certainly say that we have pushed the boundaries for those that follow behind us. No site has managed to achieve the legitimacy that SurfTheChannel has. Moving from just another link site to striking bold deals with major broadcasters under a year is quite an achievement, even if those deals were iced for various reasons, it still shows the strength of STC that we are considered for such things.

After 12 months our viewing figures are as follows:

710,000 daily users
5,387,000 daily page views
153,362,496 page views in September!
520th most visited site worldwide (151th in UK, 335th in US)

So its our birthday and we promised a surprise. Well we have 2 presents. 1 for our users 1 for any budding people that would like to follow in the footsteps of STC. In other words we have:

• A new user system on the site that allows uploading of photos for avatars, adding friends, message boards, groups etc.
• The source code of SurfTheChannel for anyone who wants to set up a video link site.

Yes you read that second one right. We will be making available the source code of STC so that anyone can set up their own video indexing site. We believe thats sites such as STC are needed to keep track of all the millions of videos uploaded every day around the world. We believe this so much that we are going to make available the source code of STC so that anyone can open up a video link site in just a few minutes. Think of the internet with all those videos organised by sites such as STC! What bliss!

The STC source code will be stripped down so that some of our vital trade secrets aren't given away but what will be available will be a full working version of a video indexing site. You just choose what categories you want and install the site. Easy! This is something that we can give back to the internet and while we are sure people will find it full of bugs we humbly hope you will foregive us for that and be happy with our gift smile.gif.

And a user system on STC! Yep your going to get your very own social networking features integrated into the site. This is in beta right now and should be ready tomorrow.

We apologise that both these suprises are running a little late, we had hoped to have them ready for tonight however some real life stuff has slowed us down. That my friends is a story for Friday night though tongue.gif.
