Thaw out.
As those of you who know me on facebook know, I moved up to NY in May.
Well it's been snowing since december.
I HATE SNOW!
But hopefully by the summer i'll be working a job.
So I'm only a few month away from getting my BA in BS and this will be the first summer in a long time that I really won't have any commitments. So I'm kinda curious as to what some of you did the first summer after college. How did you celebrate the accomplishment? Did you just put your nose to the grindstone and buckle down? Or did you have one last hoo-rah!
I do plan on taking a road trip across Canada before the summer is over which will be amazing but I'm kinda planning on packing in my summer with some sweet memories before I fully commit getting a steady job and junk.
What about this summer? Any plans yet?

BA in BS... are you an English major as well?
For my first post-college summer, I drank a lot with my friends, and basically did whatever I wanted to do. Unfortunately, because I didn't have a job, I financed the entire summer on my credit card, which was a terrible decision, which is finally paid off! I kind of regret not having a job at that point, since I feel like I would have saved myself a good deal of hassle, and I'd recommend to you looking for some kind of job, even part time, just to have some kind of income. But, of course, if you have the money, do whatever the hell you want!
This summer, I have no idea what I'll be doing. I'm working full time, but a few friends of mine want to plan a mini road trip to breweries across America, or at least the closer ones to us. That, and the usual, playing softball, going to baseball games, the beach and just doing my thing.
Calvan, where in NY do you live?

Hmm plans for the summer. I don't really have to much planned out at the moment. I know we will be taking a trip to Louisiana so the rest of my family can see the baby. Then to Florida so her family can see him. Other than that I can't really think of to much. Except for my, and my buddies annual fishing trip.
I suppose I'll work for about six weeks and then enjoy the last two weeks of spare time before going to university again. Meh. Sounds awful to know that I have to work. -.-
But, besides that, I'm going to force my boyfriend to go out with me on the weekends, so that I can go swimming, eat ice-cream and enjoy the sun.
And if he hasn't got time for me, I'll probably lie in the sun the whole day long and read a book or play with my dog. <3
Oh and I hope my friend and I will be shooting our next movie in summer. <3 We might need good weather to shoot, considering there will be some outside-scenes in the movie... So I hope this will be the great part of the summer. ^^

Depends if I find work really. There's a lot I want to do, but the bigger things require money which I don't have.
My friends really want to go to Amsterdam and I'm still deciding if I want to go along with them. Thing with that is I know that they're more open to drugs and alcohol than I am and I'd rather not put myself in an awkward position around them. I know one or two of them will be completely out of it the whole time, and they're going to want drugs, alcohol and sex, and I'm going to be the one beating up the guys who're taking advantage of them and getting puked on. I can already kind of see me as the "designated driver", but without the car if you know what I mean. It's a lot of money, I know I won't enjoy myself - holidays for me are about relaxing with a drink or two in a nice, quiet tapas bar, getting a taste of the culture, going to museums, walking around, taking loads of pictures, swimming in the sea etc. I don't see the fun in getting ****ed up every night.
There's a couple of places and people I want to finally meet in America, particularly in California and North Carolina. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO LIVE ON OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE COUNTRY, VICKY AND JOE!? But yeah. I really want to do that this year, but I don't know how possible it'll be because I will most likely be on my own for that trip.
Mum's already talking about us having a holiday this summer too, but I don't know where she's thinking about going, but I know we're not leaving the country.
As for what I did last summer when I finished college? I didn't do anything. Everyone else had already made plans, and because everyone was coming and going at different times, it was hard to make any sort of plans. I spent about thirteen weeks held up in my room waiting for September to roll around and for me to see if I'll get back into college. =/
I intend to wear as little clothing as possible (SUNDRESSES AHOY!!!!) and play in various bodies of water. Also a trip to New York should be in the cards for me. And Savannah. And then maybe another to LA. And then maybe I'll visit some of you.
I'm ready. Late spring/early summer makes me so happy. Just like autumn. It's the times when the year/weather is in transition that excite me most.
Curious?

My plan is that my parents and I are going to fly up to the nothern states to see my sister's wedding as she is getting married. Other than that I think i'll be doing the usual, hanging out with friends, playing games, hopefully do some swimming. Other than that I don't have any other plans.

Oh dear god, I can think of a few people that'd want in on that kind of summer.
Most notably me... Hmmm... might just have to plan my own for the surrounding states... O'Fallon, Boulevard, Left Hand, Agusta, 1904, Tallgrass, Breckenridge... those are just a few I can think of immediately.

Pete, depending on how far south you go, I will meet you at a brewery. And I promise to look hot.

Isn't is a bit early to be discussing summer plans? It's still summer here. On Thursday I am walking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing with my class -- soemetimes called the greatest one-day walk in the worldOriginally Posted by Oceaneyes28
For winter, I hope to go skiing/snowboarding, but I'm not sure where yet (obviously within the country), or if I'll have enough money.
I'm ready for summer...or at least warmer weather. All this snow and ice can just **** off. As for any plans, none in particular yet aside from the usual summer things - Cook outs, camping, swimming, and wearing next to nothing most days I hope to be working again too.

Hmmm I never really plan anything for summer because it get's too godly hot here. If anything I already know that the beach is in my future (nip slips anyone?). Other than that I want to go on a 1 hour road trip to visit Ann
Oh and work hopefully.

I actually recently found my long lost biological father a few months ago on Facebook, and lucky me, we both have a strong desire to reconnect. He has a family living in Hawaii, so I've got Half-Siblings who are keen on meeting me (and me them) I'm hoping to visit them in July or so. Still in early planning stages though.
My plan for the summer is to get my garden sorted out so the kids can actually play in it more often. I've been here for 3years this summer and it's still a not so child friendly garden.
So I'm really going to get down to work this year, and sort it out and get all the kiddies toys brought aswell, which include, Slide, paddling pool, play house and sand/water pits lots of money will be going into my little garden project and I've already started saving
Also Matt has booked the first week of July off work (first week of the summer hols), so that we can take the kids out to the beach, adventure parks and zoo.
Thats all so far, because of the amount for work that needs doing in the garden and the heaps of D.I.Y and redecorating needed in the home, we are unfortunatly unable to go on a family holiday, which I'm really gutted about, but I guess you can't have it both ways eh.
Still going to be a good summer tho

Midgetbob just totally recycled my joke that noone noticed. What a prick.
To avoid a warning; does anyone have plans to visit NZ (I'll settle for Aus If I like you enough) to escape the Northern Hemisphere sun?
That can be taken so many ways, but I'll travel accordingly
We don't have a plan for it yet, but we'll definitely be making our rounds throughout the eastern half of the country, due to time constraints. I love hitting the small breweries who really give a shit about their product.

Nothing quite that amazing unfortunately. I go down in our (Northern Hemisphere) Summer because Air fare is substantially cheaper then (plus the cooler weather is nice break from the dry heat here in Cali). Last time I was down there (2 years ago) I met my family in Christchurch, went around town, and rode the train West. Still amazing for the view alone. We wanted to do a bunch of scenic driving and go to some of the cool spots by Westport, but Winter is just a bad time to go. So, for something completely different, I'm planning to visit in October so that it's not too cold and we might be able to do some outdoor travelling.
