Just a place where you can share strang things that you have learned. The only stipulation is that it has to be true to the best of your knowledge.

At about 6:30 p.m. on Monday night [November 2], Aaron Siebers reported that he'd been stabbed in Edgewater by "three skinheads or Hispanic males dressed in black" who tried to rob him. Trouble is, a surveillance video from a business where this alleged attack supposedly took place didn't show anything like what Siebers described. So the cops interviewed him again -- and this time, he reportedly admitted that he stabbed himself rather than go to work at a Sheridan Boulevard Blockbuster.

An insanity defense wouldn't seem like the best way to go for Siebers when fighting the false-reporting charge he faces, since everyone with a job at Blockbuster probably dreams of stabbing himself on occasion, making it a totally logical impulse. Then again, maybe Siebers could argue that a sane man would have turned a blade on himself a lot sooner than he did. Either way, we're pulling for him. We've all been there, Aaron!

I like the idea but the execution leaves a bit to be desired.

BALLON BOY
On October 15, 2009, the parents of a six-year-old boy Falcon Heene claimed that their son was on board a helium balloon that had floated away in Fort Collins, Colorado. At the time, it was reported by the mass media that Falcon Heene was apparently traveling at altitudes reaching 7,000 feet (2,100 m)[1] in a homemade balloon colored and shaped to resemble a silver flying saucer-type of UFO.[2][3][4] The event attracted world-wide attention.[1][5] Falcon was nicknamed "Balloon Boy" by some in the media.[6]

After an hours-long flight that covered more than 50 miles (80 km) across three counties,[7] the balloon landed about 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Denver International Airport. Authorities closed down the Denver airport and sent several National Guard helicopters and local police in pursuit. After the balloon landed and the boy was found not to be inside, authorities began a manhunt of the entire area, raising fears that he had fallen from the balloon; it was reported that an object had detached from the balloon and fallen to the ground.[3] Later that afternoon the boy was reported to have been hiding at his house the entire time.[8]

Suspicions soon arose that the incident was a hoax and publicity stunt engineered by the boy's parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, particularly following the Heenes' interview with Wolf Blitzer on Larry King Live that evening. In response to a question about why he was hiding, Falcon said to his father, "You guys said that, um, we did this for the show."[9] On October 18, Larimer County sheriff Jim Alderden announced his conclusion that the incident was a hoax and that the parents would likely face several felony charges.[10][11] Richard Heene pleaded guilty on November 13, 2009, to the charge of attempting to influence a public servant. On December 23, 2009, Richard Heene was sentenced to 90 days jail and Mayumi Heene to 20 days weekend jail. [12] He was also ordered to pay $36,000 in restitution

I couldn't help but bring this one up. It is an epic story for two reasons the kids name is "Falcon" and his parents epically failed.

DESTINED TO DIE

Justin Parker, a 24-year-old college student who walked away after his car slid 300 feet down a steep embankment near Red Cliff, died shortly thereafter when he walked off another cliff about thirty yards away. Eagle County authorities determined that Parker had survived the initial crash, but couldn't figure out how he subsequently walked off the cliff.

Sometimes there is just no avoiding it. When its your time its just your time.

Chef dies after feeling eel
Playing harmless pranks on your wasted friends is commonplace in the United States. A chef in Sichuan, China recently experienced such a prank, but this time it lead to his death. One night while intoxicated, his friends inserted a 50 cm long Asian swamp eel into his rectum. The eel then proceeded to consume his bowels, leading to his eventual death. Brings a whole new meaning to getting your ass chewed out.
