    Sooooooooooooo.....

What happened here? Okay granted I'm talking like 7 years ago, but this place used to be really happenin'. Is it always like this or am I some sort of downer that drives everyone out?

...okay, don't answer that. I don't recognize barely anyone! Although in my defence you all have probably changed your usernames more often than I change Claire's diapers. LOL. Just kidding! ...maybe.

So! What's up? Where is everyone?

It's been like this for the last two-three years, Tiff. Do you remember something called the ".org incident"?

It's partially due to that and people just drifting away from this place. Honestly, in my opinion, this place is still "happenin'", but obviously not as quickly as before. This place is still far from dead.

Most of the activity comes during the night, anyway. School is back in session and all of that, people work, etc.

Most of the people you would know of, either left or changed their name.

Nah, I don't see this place as inactive/dead at all. Maybe it's just the times I'm getting online or whatever, but it's rare I'm looking at an empty forum. People come and go just like on every forum, but they still make appearances every now and then.

If you don't recognise anyone, this could be a good time to get to know the newer members who you might not yet know. Most of them seem pretty okay, and they don't bite.

I suppose it is confusing because I see lots of people online, but nobody is posting!

    Post people, post!!!!

Just kidding! I'm starting to get more familiar with the people I see posting more often. It might sound harsh, but if people aren't really being active and posting I don't really bother trying to get to know them. Hard to do so when they aren't saying anything!

Hah that is a good philosiphy to have, well kind of. I have seen alot of the older posts back from TFF's "glory days" and I must admit that it seems like most of the people that post here now adays seem to have higher quality posts then what they where a few years back. I could be wrong though. And yes there are exceptions to this!

We still have our moments of alot of activity and they are not that rare. Like Toph said, it really depends on the time of day and the time of the year now adays. Alot of focus goes to WG/H from the newer members and really alot of the older members are dedicated to GC or just spuratically showing up around the forum.

I will second the whole "post people, post!!!!!" and I am not kidding haha.

There are still alot of vets around and tonight there is an MSN event going on if you want to meet some of the newer members or to get reaquainted with some of the older ones. We have a pretty good mix that show up to the MSN group chats and it is a good way to learn about some of the members with out the restrictions that TFF bestows on us.

Hopefully tonight will be fairly active here at TFF because we are having the CPC8 Toga Night and one of the main reasons we are having it is to incite forum activity.

I was planning on joining that for a bit tonight actually! I normally unwind with a few beers on the weekend (OH takes care of Claire, woohoo!) so it'll be nice to talk to a few people.

Isn't it obvious, Tiff? This place has been lacking awesomeness because you haven't been around much.

For the record I cracked beer 1 a few mins ago.

I've been saying the same thing for the longest time. I still stand by my decision that it's the fault of word games. We can still have no spammy fun in GC, we just have to think a little bit about it.

I definitely agree, there are good posters, and decent posters. Most of them are usually posting in either ID, or General Chat in my opinion.

Tonight, as Meier suggested, is an msn event going on, so hopefully that'll increase forum activity tonight as well. I'm not entirely sure about the quality of said posts, but it'll be active.

This is actually the first SN I ever used, although I think that at the time you joined, it might've been "Tom." Also, a few years ago when I remember you being somewhat active again, it was "Taco Del Fish," "Calamity Taco," and then "Taco." Remember that thread about "when to forgive" that was in the ID forum? Or when Alex/Bunny liked you? And the Spam thread? Those were good times, ha.

I don't post as much anymore because a lot of the threads people are posting in right now are a bit controversial and/or serious for my tastes. Every time I get involved in something like that, I get really defensive or really annoyed with someone-often in spite of my best efforts not to-so I generally try to steer clear of those. I just don't enjoy it. I'd rather talk about something more fun or lighthearted, like nostalgic stuff, video games, or music I like (and there is like a small handful of people who like the same music I do, so... Kinda annoyed that not more people care about Five Iron Frenzy. Come on, people! This is FIVE IRON FRENZY we're talking about! They're awesome!) Anyhoo...

Yes! I remember Calamity Taco! I think it was the "wuv, yer Mom" stuff that reminded me.

Is Alex still around? Haven't talked to him in ages too! Gawd, crazy how much stuff changes when the real world grabs ahold of you eh?

No. Alex is gone. He seemed to disappear after I left my S-mod status after his complaint. Which was a few years ago.

Who knows where he is these days? *shrug*

Also, I used to be known as Piroblaze. I forget what I registered as in SU.

Yeah the .org incident killed the bulk of the more transient members that we had back then along with the short-long term members or whatever you want to call them. Most of the old members stuck around or eventually found their way back. But there was like a two month period where the site and forums were all completely off everyone's radar unable to be located unless you knew someone on the inside. So it was pretty easy to lose what we had going back then.

I'm still around here for one reason or another pretty much unchanged too stubborn to accept the way things are going as I see. Oh well, I've always felt old in a place where the bulk of the members are middle school and high school students even though that age gap is only a few years. But the age gap doesn't start losing its meaning or expanding until you start hitting your 30s.

But hey I remember you even if you don't me.

I still am, but the title disappeared. Huh? I wonder where it went, but good memory! Now I'll have to figure out what happened. But hey I'm still watching quietly, which is probably more accurate these days than back when I was new huh? ^^; 6000 posts in a year doesn't make me very quiet.

Yay someone older than me. ^^ I've still got a few years before I hit that mark.

But I guess I left more of an impression that I thought on people. Despite my posting, always thought I was invisible to people.

Well that's encouraging to hear. ^^

I know at least one person knew me ass the only person they knew that could write two paragraph on the question about their favorite drink. I've forgotten the meaning of straight to the point a long time ago.

I fixed my title too, it was blank for so reason. Must of gotten reset during one of the forum maintenance periods or something. I wonder how long its been gone for?

I tend to remember people in how I first met them, I guess, though that doesn't make a lot of sense. I always call Mistress Shadow because I'll always know him as Shadow and I think I even called Telegraph by his original name even when he was Taco. But I'm bad at remembering people here if they change their name and I don't keep in contact with them because I lock everyone into memory by their original name so much.

But I don't think I'll ever forget your avatar, so I'll always remember with that if you change your name. I can't help but stare at it for like a minute. Its draws me in for some reason. It's really cool to watch.

    Thanks!

Yeah I get SO confused with everyone switching their names. So much easier when I know what their username was way back when. Glad to see you changed your title back!!!

To be honest when I came back I was feeling pretty much the same, granted I still don't post often but I do lurk. After a while you start seeing names pop up and you realize many of those former frequent posters now just don't have the time to post on everything, but they do chime in time to time. The whole username thing IMO is a terrible idea.

We have a club here that Dawezy, Zro and Scorp infrequently frequent. Some other old SU members are there, but are even less active than Zro and Scorp. Like maybe one post a year active. Other than that, not really.

    Until now!

You called me that when I was Hellfire, as a matter of fact Probably when I was Taco, too.

You know what I remember? That you were the second Andromeda. There was that girl who used that sn before you, and at that time, you were "Andromeda II." And I thought, "What's up with that?" But I found out you were pretty nice and like not antagonistic at all, so you made up for that.

But yeah; the last time I really talked to Bunny/Alex, he seemed very finished with online forums and online friends. Going with his whole nihilistic thing. He still pops in every once in a while when he's bored, though. At least once. Anyhoo...

Yeah, you'll always be Telegraph to me. ^^ It such an unique name to have I've always wonder how you decided upon it.

Yeah, I remember the original Andromeda. When I joined I had thought that it would be an uncommon enough name that I wouldn't have any problem with it and found that there was someone with it already. Unfortunately, I have such love for the name that I couldn't give it up and people do Cloud9439 and stuff so why not me. The old days of being Andromeda II, I know I confused a couple people because we were both rather active back then so saying our names got people confused, like Quistis mixed is us I think once or twice in the matchmaking thread. But when she did end up changing I dropped the "II" quickly. I think we actually got along pretty nicely too. Didn't know that you thought I was being antagonistic ^^; But I can see how that could be seen.

I can't help but when thinking of unique names, remember DropThemNikes? I think that was how his name went. Didn't he have a tank for an avatar. He was mostly before my time, but its another one of those names that probably has a history behind it.

And while talking classics, remember the matchmaker thread that Tiff and Quistis had way back then. Surprised we haven't seen some re-incarnations of it over the years, it was pretty popular back then.

How about classic drama that pretty much makes everything that happens these days pale in comparison. The epic fight between ArkAngel and Sakura, was it? She changed her names so many times I can't remember. They got married in the RP forums, back when we did marriages and then oh my the falling out they had. It consumed so many people.

Sorry, when you brought of the original Andromeda I couldn't help but think back to a few other fond memories. Princess Yuna...*runs away*

I didn't think you were antagonistic, so much as a poseur Haha. (I was 16. My brain worked differently back then. Probably more stupid.) I meant "not antagonistic" as a descriptor of you. Because I don't remember the correct word for that. Maybe "unassuming" would have fit better.

Yeah, DTN. He was an interesting character. I didn't talk to him much, but I he had an interesting sense of humor that I didn't always get. I just thought he was crazy. Maybe I'd get along with him better now.

How long ago was Princess Yuna? That doesn't seem like it was that long ago, like 2001-2002 long ago... Although the most I remember is a kinda spammy member that annoyed people. Anyhoo...

Alright. ^^ You don't have worry about it Telegraph. It's not a big deal. It doesn't bother me.

    I never had much of a chance to know DropThemNikes, but its a name that'll stick in my mind forever. Glad to know someone else remembers him, especially better than I do. It's embarrassing I can only remember his name. ; ;

Yeah, Princess Yuna probably was around in 2001, but she lasted at least until like 2002 when I joined since I was around for all of her drama. I mostly knew her through the RPing, which she was incredibly narcissistic when RPing. But there were apparently a lot of people that didn't like her since someone made a thread about who you didn't like, it was supposed to be pretty innocent, but it turned into a flaming thread focused completely on her as people jumped on the wagon.
