To be fair though, it's gonna be 100% better than what happened last year, man I don't even want to BEGIN with what happened during last year's Christmas Day....

but yeah! what are ya'll doing for the holidays and the end of the year? plans with family? friends? get your shopping done? excited to see the family, or are you cringing at the thought of getting together with the people in your life that drive you crazy, yet wish you the best all at once???

Where do you work that requires you to be open on Christmas day? The only things that operate here on Christmas are essential services, and transport (buses etc. on a reduced schedule). You're not required to work on Boxing Day or New Years Day, or "the day after New Years Day", although you get extra pay and holidays if you do so lots of people do unless they've left town.

I'm house swapping with my parents: I'm driving down to their place a few days before, and they're driving up to mine, and we're meeting half way for lunch (it's like an 8 hour drive). So they're actually having Christmas alone, which suits them, and I'm having Christmas with my girlfriend's family.

Christmas is the absolute pits for us lately.

I mean, yes, my fiancé and I are -SO HAPPY- to be with family, but the drive from NY to Texas is absolute Hell- even though we stopped in Nashville and got a hotel room for the night on the way down, it still sucked ass.

Clearly I've lost my sense of adventure and suck at roadtripping. I'm a truck driver's daughter. This shouldn't be how I feel. lol.

My fiancé and I are getting married in XIV on Tuesday though. I'M SO EXCITED.

Christmas with family n friends then holiday housin at sum Pearl beach with a group of friends from the 28th thru to New Years.

I've been fitting in christmas shopping after work almost everyday for the past wk. Im over it n so is my wallet.

Put me under that essential services option. I work at a hospital pharmacy, so regular hours for me.

I have off Christmas day, and then the first two days of Kwanzaa, which I'm excited about, because I get to celebrate my African heritage. I don't have much African heritage, since I'm a white dude with ancestry stemming from Eastern Europe, but I'm sure if I traced my bloodline back far enough, somebody would be from Africa. I'm pretty sure I work New Years eve and New Years day, but on my three days off this week, I'm going to do what I always do when I have off; absolutely nothing. It'll be wonderful.

I couldn't care less if I'm off for Christmas. It's a bullshit consumer-driven corporate holiday that tries to pass itself off as something religious and holy.
