Romantic Side

Just the other day I was reading about rather unusual and somewhat romantic proposal, not the most romantic but nevertheless the idea was pretty awesome. After 5 years of dating with the girl he loves he decided to propose her. So being a big gamer he made an additional level in Super Mario World for SNES filled with coins that shape the sentence "Will you marry Me?", after making the stage he suggested that they play the game. She eventually stumbled on the same stage and was rather surprised, but everything was clear when he showed up kneeling with the ring...oh and yea, she said yes.

Anyway, I myself am not a romantic person but I do love to surprise my girlfriend with a small romantic gestures every now and then. So how bout you, are you a romantic type, have you ever done anything romantic for your girlfriend/boyfriend or if you have read a great article about it then please discus here.

I am usually not a romantic person mainly because I usually dont have a girlfriend just random "booty call" chicks. But I do have a girlfriend now is she is all about being romantic so I have had to try a lot harder lately such as making romantic dinners which is cool with me cause I can cook pretty good.

As for the magazine articles the only magazines I read are Fight and Mens Fitness gotta stay in shape, and Tattoo all awesome magazines but none have anything to do with romance..

I think that I could be romantic, but it's more like being affectionate than romantic I suppose. I like to cuddle, and I can be really touchy-feely. As far as gifts go, I don't really buy guys that I date gifts unless there is a reason, like birthdays, Christmas or stuff like that.

I am a Romantic Person, but only when the time calls for it. But if I'm with someone(A Girl That I Like And/Or Love), I would act Romantic, and she wouldn't even have to ask me to be that way. I am also a Thoughtful & Caring Person as well, so any girl would be lucky to be with me, but so far, not much luck in that department. Don't let my looks fool you, Outside I might look Cool, or tough, or something like that, but on the inside, I am a Softie, and I have a Great Personality, And I would also put her before myself, meaning I would take care of her before myself, etc...

If this story is your idea of 'being romantic', then no, I'm not romantic.

I'm a pretty romantic soul though. I don't mean I like the cheesy, moonlit and candlelight stuff. I mean I have romantic views about the world.

It's hard to explain what I mean to people who are not familiar with certain literature/art terms.

I get what ya mean, Rags.

I can be romantic with my gestures and the whole "wine n dine" deal, but because of my track record and personality, it usually doesn't come off as sincere, no matter how sincere I actually am being.

I'd like to think that I'm a lot more affectionate than romantic. I can't do the whole lovey dovey thing because it annoys the piss out of me when other people do it in public. I mean, I'll cook dinner every now and then, and I have a crazy good memory, so I'll use those things to my advantage, but I'm not really gonna become a big pile of mush. I think that after any period of time, stuff like that gets obnoxious.

Plus, I've gotten burned my fair share of times, so I'm a lot more cautious than back in the day.

This is me too. I don't know... when I try to be romantic, I either come across as the "male" in the relationship, or I feel as if I'm being cheesy. So I'm a lot more affectionate than romantic. I'm also not a big gift giver until there is a reason. I'll put money towards things, like if we wanted lunch or game or whatever.

I've never actually had the chance to cook for someone in a relationship yet... a bit hard when your parents don't know you're seeing anyone, and you're both living at home. I think I'd be good at it, without feeling cheesy.

... and to be honest with you... I'm not really someone who needs to have a romantic partner. I'm quite happy sitting indoors playing video games with them all day. Okay, maybe not all day, everyday - I like walks through the pleasant parts of my area. The canal is pretty and quiet at night... <3

I'm basically the same. I have very romantic views of the world and of certain things, but I don't have that typical 'relationship romance' you see in films. It makes me giggle, and although Eddie denies the fact that he's romantic I can tell he's a hell of a lot moreso typically 'movie romantic' than me.

I never saw such a romantic things what you guys just wrote here. It was fun to read them.
I can't remember any interesting romantic things what to write here. But you guys seems to have more experience in these things.

There is no 'wrong', only 'relatively less right'.

And the meaning of the word you're referring to is well known, so that makes me the minority.
