Replying to threads

I usually stear clear of threads in which people are mindlessly posting responses to the original question and not progressing the topic in any meaningful way. I always do an actual "reply" to something someone posted, rather than just answer a question in the first post. This is worst in 'who is your favorite...." thread.

One of my pet peaves of forums is people who post lists without explaining anything.

I read the OP, skim the rest, and post my biz 90% of the time. If its the other 10% where the thread is decent/interesting, I may read more or elaborate, but thats about it.

PS this thread falls under the 90% category.

Before I decide to respond I do read few other posts as well, if not all. I like to see what other members have to say, it also helps to avoid repeating what's already been said several times.

If I have intention to question, or discuss one of the posts, or part of it, I'll do with my first post, or later if by any chance I've overlooked it.

OH, also when I reply and subscribe to the thread, I may come back to read more. I have a tendancy to reply back to people replying to me, so if you want me to elaborate, then quote my post and I will come back for more
