    Psychics & Astrology

What's your sign? Does it fit your personality? Does your daily horoscope ever relate in some way to what's going on in your life?

Also, do you think there are any legit psychics in the world or is it "all just a bunch of hocus pocus!" (points if you know that movie lol) ?

I downloaded a horoscope app & oddly enough, my horoscope has been pretty dead on all wk. Heh.

It's been dead on cuz you read it BEFORE your week. You should read it afterwards and then you'll know whether or not it was correct. Otherwise, you could be subconsciously manipulating everything to fit...

About 10 years ago, my perfectly-sensible sister got into that stuff, so I went along with it "Hey, they say I got something in common with Marylin Monroe? It can't be ALL wrong!" But then... *eerie music as camera slowly pans in* she read something awful about herself. I told her to forget it, that it wasn't true, it wouldn't happen - but soon afterwards, she succumbed to the prediction.
I'm not saying she wouldn't have done it otherwise, that is useless conjecture, I'm saying, if it's not helpful to read this stuff, if it is impossible to change one's so-called "fate" even after reading about it beforehand, then what's the point?

Did that sound like something a Virgo would write?

Horoscopes are written so generally that you could read any one of them and think of how it could apply to your life. Seriously, just pretend you're a different sign and keep reading them. Psychics prey on the gullible.

Apart from being the most powerful sign in the Zodiac, most people know so little about what goes on inside a Scorpio that they become scared or uneasy around them. Their gift of intensity beyond most people's comprehension can be channeled positively or negatively to the extremes. They can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

    Truer words were never spoken.

Although I have no interest in my horoscopes, I still keep an open mind bout these things.

Alpha hit it on the head. When you read a horoscope, it's easy to start to look for things within the paragraph. Here's mine for today. I'm a Virgo.

Passionate interactions with someone special might be experienced today - the kind that are pleasant rather than uncomfortable!

Well, I am going over to my girlfriends tonight... That's a win

It's a day for reworking and enhancing existing relationships or projects, dear Virgo. If you need to approach a complicated subject, you'll find that people are more courageous and open to doing so right now.
Not so sure about this one. I'll call it a loss

Wise counsel figures strongly today, which can lead to some breakthroughs, particularly about love, children, and creative endeavors.
I called a guy from my company to ask him a question about soil. He's been at the company for like 25 years. No talk about love or kids though. I'd call this one a push.

Long story short, I reached and found that a third of the statements were at least accurate, but that's after having the majority of my day over. I wouldn't read too much into these things, or else you'll just drive yourself nuts looking for weird signs and becoming like one of those people...

I agree with the whole horoscopes not bring worth it unless you read them afterwards. I just dled the app yday and it said for Monday "don't doubt any big decisions you're making" & some other stuff. That was the night I decided to move home.

I'm am aquarius. And it fits me. I do my own thing, feel smothered easily in relationships, can't tell me ahhhhh.. Or well. I'm also Irish.. So. Heh.

Gawd. My sister is a Scorpio. She's a control freak. It's her way or the highway. We don't get along lol...

Yeah... no. Stars and constellations don't predict personality.

Horoscopes are a fun read [and make fun of], but I'd never take them [at all] seriously. They're kept very vague so that you can apply them to almost any future event. It's like reading that you'll eat something yummy tomorrow, and you'll eat your favourite snack (can't imagine anyone going out of their way to eat something bad to disprove a horoscope).

    My current horoscope:

Quirky, determined, logical, eccentric and freedom-loving Aquarius. Your ruling planets are Saturn and Uranus. Your best day of the week is Saturday and your best colours are electric or deep, rich blue and anything metallic. Saturn is passing through another of the Fixed signs, Scorpio until late 2014 and through this period latent ambition could surface. You might also decide to move home: an action that might be related to career development.
Freedom loving: yes. I'm sick of work at the moment, and really need a holiday. I've booked a few days leave next month. Hahahaha, my ruling planet is ur anus. Hehehehe. The **** does a colour have to do with Saturday? Should I wear blue on Saturday? And why is that my best day - I'm working most of the afternoon! Oh, but I won't be on a monthly, me and my mum are going out for a drink, and it means I only have to go one more night until I get to see my boyfriend on Sunday! ...Maybe? I like Saturn - it's my favourite planet. Ambition? Why yes, I am working towards that promotion! Oh, and I already live at home and I don't know of any other home I can move to.

Can't believe I had the weekend and the rest of the year predicted for me to such accurate detail. None of it as happened yet, but I'm sure I can expect it all to come true! If it doesn't, I'll have a bad year... </3

But yeah. How dare someone tell me when I'm going to have a good or bad day. Who gives these psychics the right?

Heh, other than being stubborn as **** and having a fascination for Rams and Goats, My horoscope does not dictate my life. I dictate my own life. My personality is one that I created based on instincts and my own thoughts. If I choose to like the colour blue, I will. If a horoscope has to tell you when you like and dislike, my dear, you are going to have problems with your life. Like what YOU feel is right.

I get a good chuckle when my horoscope tells me who and who not to like, more so than what and what not to like. Being an Aries, I am supposed to like those who are Leo and Sagittarius. I find that to be complete bull. I can like whomever I fancy however I want. Friends, acquaintances, potential partners are all over the map for me. I don't settle for one particular group. That would get boring really quick. I also don't pay attention to when people were born other than to celebrate a day of birth. Why let a person who has nothing better to do then write horoscopes tell you otherwise?

Let me put something into perspective. No one actually remembers being born, right? No one has any memory of being born. The only fact of our birth is what our parents tell us and supply to the government as proof of birth. We trust what our parents say because, well, who else would we trust? I heard a story at work about a guy who doesn't even know when he was born because his mother worked in a record keeping facility and altered her own and her son's records. So, his birthday ranges between three different years, somewhere between April and May. He doesn't even know when he was born exactly because he has three different documents with three different date of births. And it's not like you can go to the doctor and ask, "Hey, how old am I, really?" We just rely on what our parents tell us because it's really all we have.

I'm not telling you not to believe in horoscopes. You can believe in what you feel is right.

I find it interesting that people can believe in god but reject horoscopes and phychic ability based on the same logic that would be used to defy belief in a god. I guess that's just more evidence in favor of indoctrination. Just a thought, don't get angry over it.

I think they're fun. Not to be taken seriously, but fun to talk about. Although, I'm not really a HUGE fan of my Pisces horoscope most of the time. I mean, when they're like "OO MYSTICAL YOU ARE SO SPECIAL AND EMPATHIC AND LIKE... READ MINDS" I'm like oh hell yeah. But then they're all "you are wishy washy and needy, you crazy freak" and I'm all

Which I guess proves their point....

    Oh well, **** it.

More than Western astrology, I get a kick out of the Chinese zodiac. DRAGON!! The Dragon is like the coolest sign in the damn zodiac, and I ended up with it and that is baller. Also, my mother and grandmother were both dragons, which I thought was kind of neat. I think I'm supposed to get after a Monkey or a Rat. I actually did date a dude born in a Monkey year, and there was a lot about him that got on my damn nerves, so IDK. I'm marrying a Rabbit, which is supposed to be a "bad match" because I'll eat him or something, but you know how these things go.

    Either way I have scales.

Oh, have you looked at the dang Native American zodiac yet? Wolf here, bow wow bitches.
    Curious?

The only horoscopes I read are the ones that are created by the Zodiac monkeys in Ape Escape 3. Yes, I put more trust in a bunch of pixelated, digitized monkeys than I do a newspaper, magazine, or the Internet for my horoscope.

Actually, I am not one for horoscopes, though the monkeys are very funny. I believe in making your own good days or bad days.

"Start the day with a smile, and you'll end a day with one!" (What video game is that line from?)

But it is true in a way. If you start the day thinking it will be a good one, chances are it will be. Or, you will super disappointed because something horrible happened. Either way, at least your day started out well.

Now, I do have dream dictionaries, books on crystals and earth power(s), and other mystical stuff. It's an interesting read, but that's all it is. From time to time, I get into a supernatural mood, and bring out the Native American tarot cards.

Super fancy, and you know they're real because they came from China.

Haha Awesome a Scorpio AND a Dragon!! Best of both worlds/Zodiacs. Obv its more fun if not one but two Zodiacs work in your favour Im not interested in that compatibility crap I dont care who I do/dont get along with, it could be no one if I felt like it. Wasnt aware of a Native American Zodiac..Im a Snake- The Snake can be despondent, violent, and prone to abnormal mood swings. LOL. Nail. On. Head. I believe in these things just like I believe in Ghosts, spirits n psychic ability. It goes without saying its naive to rely on such things but when the topic arises its interesting to find out where you fit in. Unless your God incarnate and/or know EVERYTHING, Im not comfortable writing off these ideas as silly..

Chinese zodiac, I'm the rat. Lol

I once read somewhere that "Often times, Aquarius women are so beautiful, one can barely stand to look at them for more than a few seconds"

... Showed it to my close friend Matt.. He said, "Yeahhhh I can stare at the sun for more than a few seconds, so I'm pretty sure I can handle looking at you." It was funny.

..... Not that I think I'm all super gorge and stuff, at all.

I like fortune cookies more than horoscopes. At least you get to eat something before your hopes are raised up and subsequently dashed by lack of occurrences.

My avi/sig would indicate what sign I am.

I'm not one to delve much into horoscopes (as Catholicism is pretty much against psychic readings and the like) but I admit that they at least get the personality parts with frightening accuracy. Especially with a Cancer girl I was in a relationship with. Cancers are supposedly romantic and don't really fight unless they have to. Sure, critics would say "but that could be any girl", and I'd say "Then why haven't I met anyone else like that?"

To summarize, I read the characteristic parts for fun and try not to get carried away in it. It's a good subject but every individual is different, after all.
Please read the poetry from two great friends of mine. May they find peace.

"The truth is like a lion; you don't have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself."

I'm a Tiger Bear Virgo whooooooo!

I just don't believe that you can classify an entire group of people based on the month they were born. It's just too bizarre to me, and the difference between Chinese year and traditional Zodiac just seems to just give people more options to try and find little snippets to understand their own quirks. Like "oh, it's so Aries of me to make grilled cheese today" what the hell is that crap?

One thing I have to say about the zodiac nonsense... Other stars are light years away from us. That means their light, traveling, obviously at the speed of light, takes years to reach us. Our visiaul data about the position of stars at any given time is hundreds or thousands if not millions of years out of date.
For Our Lord Sheogorath, without Whom all Thought would be linear and all Feeling would be fleeting. Blessed are the Madmen, for they hold the keys to secret knowledge. Blessed are the Phobic, always wary of that which would do them harm. Blessed are the Obsessed, for their courses are clear. Blessed are the Addicts, may they quench the thirst that never ebbs. Blessed are the Murderous, for they have found beauty in the grotesque. Blessed are the Firelovers, for their hearts are always warm. Blessed are the Artists, for in their hands the impossible is made real. Blessed are the Musicians, for in their ears they hear the music of the soul. Blessed are the Sleepless, as they bask in wakeful dreaming. Blessed are the Paranoid, ever-watchful for our enemies. Blessed are the Visionaries, for their eyes see what might be. Blessed are the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger. Blessed is the Madgod, who tricks us when we are foolish, punishes us when we are wrong, tortures us when we are unmindful, and loves us in our imperfection.

In fact, since it takes time for light to travel to our eyes, what we are seeing actually already happened. Even if it's looking at an apple in our hands. So we're constantly seeing fractions of a second into the past.

Even still, knowing this does not make baseball more enjoyable to watch.

I stream Bloodborne, FFXIV, and occasionally other games.

Not really. Depends what you consider to be in the present. The object itself that is represented by the light hitting Earth today is tremendously dated and is actually nowhere near where it appears to be, but the light I see tonight is the light that was emitted at the correct moment all that time ago to reach Earth today so that I could see it. I'm not saying I put any credence in the Zodiac, but that knowledge doesn't make baseball more interesting OR contain any fundamental criticism of the Zodiac system.

Also I'm a Leo/metal horse/salmon. I'd like to see those together in one super animal.

The concept of time is a flawed concept that if taken seriously and is used to prove ideas, will only show fallacy. I used to say what chie said before, about how the light is still visiable to us because of how far away it is, yet the sun might have exploded (therfor we looking into the past). The only thing this determines is that are eyes are seein the remaining light that actually does still exist, it does not determine anything about whether or not we are looking into the past or future. It simply is. I say this in the same way thy if you we're to look through a telescope powerful enough to be able to view objects on earth from millions of light years away, you would not be seeing dinosaurs, you would be seeing what exists currently. The past logic only applies when looking at light because its speed is limited and if ou were to bypass it , you would be able to see beyond it. So you wouldn't be looking into the past anymore than you would be looking into the future if you were claiming to know where the light was going to end.

No, I never said light was visible still to us because of how far away it is. It literally just takes time for light to travel, like a projection. So if today I (theoretically because we're using a source of light that would not be applicable here) were to shine a flashlight into the sky, eventually people on Planet GGLMFAO wouldn't get to see that light until a long time from now. And it's based on distance from the object emmiting the light. Since the speed of light is a constant and awesomely enough light does travel at the speed of light.

I think (and I'm just trying to recall, here, I know I'm going to probably be wrong on this guess) it takes 7 minutes to see the light projected to us from the sun. It would then take someone on Pluto a lot longer to see that same light.

So somewhere in the universe if you were to LOOK at the Earth (we can't even see what planets look like very well past our solar system) you WOULD see dinosaurs.

Alpha is correct in saying this doesn't debunk the zodiarc system or astrology, how he wrote the bold text here allows us to clearly imagine what I'm saying, so I like it. Therefore, you can see that if you were to have a twin, somehow he was on a distance planet (and I'm talking real far away...out of our galaxy), and you were to be able to look up and see each other's planet, you would be looking into the past because of the speed that light travels at in order to reach your eyes.

Yes, even looking at the moon is looking someone into the "past", as if the moon suddenly exploded it'd be fractions of a second before we could see the explosion. We are seeing what already happened.

You would never be able to look into the future lol, as light is limited by the actions that emit light. That has to happen first. You can't shimmy up the "lightshaft" as you're traveling at the speed of light and end up in the future.

Chie, you're wrong. Distance has nothing to do with past presence or future. Your analogy of light only applies to the distance and time it takes for it to reach its destination. Just because our vision is limited and does not allow us to see beyond the light. Doesn't mean we look into the past. This hole idea that if we could somehow travel faster than light we would travel into the past, is dumb. I CBF linking you, but if you do some research on google perhaps this can be better explained since my replies are from a phone.

I'm just upset that Che doesn't enjoy baseball.

I don't buy into the idea that the light of stars and the distance they have to travel has any relation to our position on earth or their role in what we do in our lives. I don't think that stars have any particular power anyway, at least not some cosmic whoopdedoo where it's rays are affecting us and making things happen in our lives. I like to believe that we make our own fate and we don't need to look at horoscopes to see where each day is taking us. That's almost like a combination or sorcery and throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks.

How you present yourself and act with others today can be very revealing of what you expect of them, dear Virgo, with the Moon in your opposite sign. The need to adjust your plans in order to accommodate those of another is likely, but you are especially accommodating right now. It's a good time to attract support or simply good feedback. Keep things light right now - take a breather from heavy emotions.

Stick with what you know today — the tried and true are the best for you. That’s not to say you can’t ever say yes to new projects, just that right now isn’t the best time to get started with them.

Put your money where your mouth is this Friday. You’ll have to pony up in some fashion in order to show people that you’re truly serious and invested. Put down the deposit or fill out that registration form and pay the fees. Although you may fear buyer’s remorse, if you’ve been pondering this purchase for a while, you’ll actually be relieved once plans are underway. The adventure begins when you jump in with both feet, Virgo even if you’re not sure where it will take you in the end. PS: If you’re not actually investing cold, hard cash, you may have to give of your time, footing the bill with sweat equity. On Saturday and Sunday, a moondance in your seventh house of relationships could make for a memorably romantic weekend. Muse aloud with your love about what might be when Saturday’s dreamy moon-Neptune meetup fuels those fantasies about the future. From sailing around the world for a year to picking out the names of your someday children, no topic is off limits. The rubber meets the road on Sunday though, so bring it back down to Earth. Conflicting goals could disrupt the harmony between you and your boo (or your BFF), forcing you to compromise in ways you’ll find irksome. This is not the day to stubbornly insist on “my way or the highway” though, Virgo. Give an inch—they won’t take a mile if you do.

Virgo, you're likely to be giving a lot of thought to your future. You're probably wondering how best to increase your financial standing. You may be thinking in terms of making some investments in land or property. If you've been considering buying a home, this is a good time to do it. Any paperwork involved now should be finalized swiftly and smoothly.

Ok, Those 4 lines above were taken for my weekend horoscope for this weekend. They're all so general that you can essentially take anything out of them and make them ring true before the day is over, or in the case of the last one, who doesn't have paperwork that is either pending or needs to be finished for something or another?
