I had an uncle who was one of John F. Kennedy's top secret service agents. He was with the president all throughout his two year presidency, except for the assassination in Texas, in which, he and all the regular secret service agents were conveniently called away to some bullshit assignment halfway across the country.
Another one of my uncles fought on the front lines in World War II. He was a tail gunner for the U.S. 82nd Airborne Division, and was involved in Operation Market Garden, the invasion of Normandy, and the Battle of the Bulge; the three major battles during WWII that the 82nd are most famously known for.
